The transformation of tourism in the CEE countries after joining the EU is considered. With the help of a set of indicators, the rating of countries according to the level of development of tourist potential is calculated. The following indicators were used: the number of UNESCO sites, the quality of beaches, the price competitiveness index, infrastructure development indicators (number of the accommodation, aviation passenger turnover, density of the road and railway network), human development index, international safety rating, environmental management efficiency rating, the number of reviews on the Internet, travel competitiveness rating. There are 4 groups of countries. The first two groups with high and relatively high levels do not include any CEE countries. The third and fourth groups (with medium and low levels) consist almost entirely of CEE countries, with the exception of some countries in Western, Northern and Southern Europe. The classification shows that the CEE countries lag behind other EU countries not only in terms of basic tourism indicators. But it is also insufficiently adapted to the recreation of the natural, cultural, historical and socio-economic base. The typology of countries according to the attractiveness of tourist destinations is carried out and ratings on absolute and relative indicators of development are calculated. On the basis of the three ratings, a bubble chart is constructed reflecting the effectiveness of the use of the tourist potential by the EU countries. Its analysis shows that Croatia occupies a special place against the background of lagging behind the rest of Europe in the use of the tourist potential of the CEE countries, which, despite the average values of the potential, is ahead of most of the leading European countries in terms of the effectiveness of its use. With the availability of good natural and cultural and historical resources, the rise of the CEE tourism industry is possible in the long term.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are three regional and one federal protected areas. Trends in the agricultural use of floodplain lands are aimed at increasing acreage and intensifying agriculture. Under these conditions, the risks of various pollution of soil and water resources increase. Land use control, as well as sown areas, is impossible without knowledge of the current state and location of cultivated irrigated lands. The modern policy of the state is aimed at involving unused agricultural land, one of the stages of which is updating information. The paper presents the results of the development of a local geoinformation system for irrigated lands of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain within the Volgograd region. The purpose of the work is to create and maintain the functioning of a local geoinformation system of irrigated fields, natural and anthropogenic objects that form the general attractiveness of sites in terms of resuming economic activity, in the context of rural settlements located within the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain on the territory of the Volgograd areas. The author has developed thematic geoinformation layers in three blocks: natural, economic and analytical. The main materials for compiling the thematic layers were Earth remote sensing data of high and ultra-high spatial resolution. Substantiated are various methods for the formation of geoinformation layers, as well as the problems of identifying irrigated lands by automated methods and the prospects for automating the process of determining the use of irrigated lands. The general structure of a local GIS consists of more than 20 layers and 50 attribute datasets. A local geoinformation system can be presented as a web GIS and used in landscape and environmental studies, as well as to optimize measures to involve agricultural land.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The network of automatic level gauges accumulated level observations every 10 minutes in 2014–2020. Spatial analysis tools were used to calculate the distribution of flood runoff velocities and the distribution of water runoff time on watersheds. Histograms of the distribution of watershed areas of level gauges by travel time were obtained and hydrographs for extreme precipitation were calculated using the example of July 6–7, 2012 in Krymsk. In the water level observation data, periods of level growth of more than 20 cm, accompanied by intense precipitation—4110 flood events at 69 level gauges, were identified. Flood cases are divided according to level growth into groups: up to 0.5 m, up to 1.0 m, up to 2.0 m and more than 2.0 m. The distribution of maximum daily precipitation according to ERA5-Land data for the watersheds of level gauges is considered. The calculated discharges and observations of the level showed that the highest discharges and high and frequent flood levels are observed on the rivers of the northern macroslope of the Caucasian watershed—rivers Abin, Shebsh and Pshish. On the southern macroslope, rivers are distinguished. Mezyb, Vulan, Pshada, Shapsho and Dzhubga, however, they are inferior to the watersheds of the northern macroslope. The scale and number of flood level rises in the northern watersheds (left tributaries of the Kuban River) increases from west to east and in accordance with the growth of the watershed area. In the southern watersheds, the trend is similar, but due to smaller watersheds in general, less noticeable. The highest value of the ratio of the maximum discharge to the total runoff is observed in the smallest watersheds, i.e. the most sudden floods are observed on them, however, due to the small catchment area, they do not form dangerous flood levels. A small number of flood events in the watersheds of the western part of the region is due to the nature of precipitation in 2012–2020 and small areas.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the research is to carry out agroecological typification of the lands of the reclaimed area. The object of research is the territory of the Kondratovsky rural settlement, located in the Perm municipal District of the Perm Kray. Agricultural land use is of great importance in providing the region’s population with vegetable products. The total research area was 5815.6 ha, including 2682.79 ha of reclaimed land. The site includes 43 fields, the area of which was 2173.1 ha. For soil mapping, a large-scale soil map on a scale of 1:10,000 of the Verkhnemulinsky state farm was used. Based on the raster soil map, 1010 soil cartographic units were identified. Marsh lowland, alluvial marsh, soddy-gley, soddy podzolized soils, as well as their reclaimed analogues, were distinguished. According to the granulometric composition, heavy soils (clay and heavy loamy) predominate. An agroecological typification of the lands of the reclaimed territory of the Kondratovsky rural settlement was carried out. Agroecological typification is based on spatial data characterizing the relief of the floodplain, the soil cover and the current boundaries of the agricultural use of the territory. The agroecological grouping of soils was performed using the Aggregation GIS-analysis function. On the reclaimed territory, one agroecological group has been identified—floodplain. Two agroecological land types have been identified: 1) elementary soil areas and patchiness of alluvial-meadow and alluvial-soddy soils; 2) complexes of alluvial meadow and alluvial-marsh and marsh lowland soils. The limiting factors and features of the use of these types of land have been established. To bring the research results to the administrations of a rural settlement, the Perm regions and land users, a Web-GIS application has been developed, access to which is organized through the GitHub platform.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69900371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is necessary to aggregate the characteristics of coastal landscapes, seascapes, artificial elements, dangerous objects, etc. The experience of implementing such projects (for example, in Sabetta) suggests that all participants in the design process need highly precise geographical information to optimize the location of coastal facilities, infrastructure solutions, power supply lines, water conduits, product pipelines, and related structures. As for now, the best method of geoinformation support of such projects is LIDAR (with simultaneous nadir and perspective aerial surveys). In the future, these materials, combined with space-based remote sensing data on the surrounding areas, would be used for creating virtual models with tools adapted for users with an average and low-level GIS data experience. Nowadays geoinformation systems have a number of disadvantages. First and foremost, it is difficult for non-specialists to master them. Full-featured GIS packages are expensive and cannot be used by a significant number of specialists, dispersed over various settlements only using high-speed internet connections (designing port complexes requires the efforts of heterogeneous specialists living in different cities and working in different industries). The approach proposed in this paper allows to solve this problem without using GIS packages. We consider it possible to use virtual environments that are closed from editing and access to the source data. An area of 2400 km² in the territory of Kamchatka Peninsula near Bechevinka Bay was chosen as a test site. The resulting virtual model of the territory of the future port complex is a convenient tool for increasing the spatial awareness of users, closed from unauthorized access. The work has successfully achieved the functionality and usability of this model on conventional computers, combined with the high spatial accuracy of the model.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69892937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A green city is a city that demonstrates high environmental performance compared to established criteria in terms of 1) the quality of environmental assets (air, water, land / soil and biodiversity), 2) the efficient use of resources (water, energy, land and materials) and 3) mitigating risks and adapting to the risks of climate change, while maximizing economic and social co-benefits, taking into account the context of the city (population, socio-economic structure and geographic and climatic characteristics). City greening is one of the ways to pursue a green city. It is aimed at replacing the loss of green spaces that have disappeared in ongoing urban land conversion for housing and transportation. As stated in the definition of the Green City approach, measures to improve the environmental performance of a city should also seek to maximize economic and social benefits. These links between economic, social and environmental goals will provide additional motivation for city leaders to take green city action. The remote sensing method is considered suitable and effective in early detection and classification of ocean plastic waste due to the difference in spectral reflectance of plastic waste compared to the surrounding sea. This paper presents the results of identification and classification of plastic mesh in coastal areas of Vietnam by using Sentinel 2 MSI high spatial resolution optical images. First, water was extracted from Sentinel 2 image by thresholding method on a near-infrared band. Then, the plastic mesh was identified and classified based on Float Debris Index (FDI) index using Otsu thresholding algorithm. In the study, spectral indices such as NDVI, NDWI were also used to improve the accuracy in classifying plastic mesh. In the study, Google high spatial resolution satellite images were also used to evaluate the accuracy of plastic mesh classification. The obtained results show that, in 02 test areas, the proposed method allows detecting plastic mesh with an accuracy of over 90 %. The results obtained in the study can be used to provide input information for models of forecasting and assessing the impact of ocean plastic waste pollution on coastal environments.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69898331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The large-scale assessment method included 3 stages: field observations of the intensity and structure of the traffic flow on selected streets, calculation of emission volumes and air pollution density in emission dispersion areas. In the article determines shifts in the factors of the spatial issues of the spread of pollution from vehicles. The defining characteristic is the transport and planning structure at the level of the city, district, local area. The solution of the transport problem through the transformation of the road network makes harder the using of innovative methods in solving the problem of air pollution in Moscow. Positive changes in the dynamics of traffic pollution are possible within the post-industrial trends in the development of various multifactorial approaches for different areas of the city. It is a fact that the construction of new highways improves the traffic quality, reduces the intensity of congestion, but at the same time creates new areas of pollution. Emission reductions are only achieved for gasoline light trucks and diesel heavy trucks. The main trend of recent years is the increase in the uniformity of pollution from vehicles. New housing construction programs and large-scale projects for the transformation of Moscow districts lead to more connectivity in the city’s and at the same time to equalize the density of motor traffic pollution. Administrative decisions of reducing the intensity of traffic in the central areas of the city and the construction of new roads in the peripheral areas of the city also contribute to the reduction of area differentiation of pollution that is a sign of the post-industrial stage of the city’s development.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69898348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Basically, this territory is dominated by mountain-taiga geosystems, which change with height to subgoletz and goletz geosystems, which include subalpinotype and alpinotype landscapes. The study area belongs to the Baikal State Biosphere Reserve. The regularities of the structure of mountain-taiga geosystems at the regional and topological levels are revealed. The main indicators of differentiation at the regional level are the exposure, the structure of rocks, height above sea level, steepness of slopes, vegetation. The vegetation is differentiated in more detail at the topological level, especially for the grass-dwarf shrub layer. Landscape maps were created as a result of field work, analysis of satellite images for different seasons and years, forest inventory data, previously published thematic maps of different scales: geological, soil, botanical. At the regional level, the map shows the landscape structure of the rank of the facies classes, and at the topological level—the facies. Using the methodology of the geosystem school of V.B. Sochava on a medium-scale map shows the dynamic categories of landscape structure. Primary stablest, pseudo-primary, and serial geosystems were identified here, with the main area occupied by the last two categories. On the site along the Vydrinaya River, where the ecological path passes, the vegetation was studied in more detail, as the most rapidly reacting component to the proposed development of tourism here. The article presents a conceptual scheme of the study of the localization of foreign TNCs in global US cities, reveals the stages of its implementation, outlines the main results and experience of mapping the phenomenon. In total, 28 global cities of the country of different ranks and more than 4.6 thousand foreign branches of TNCs were involved in the analysis. The main source of factual information is the data of the Forbes 2000 rating and the websites of individual corporations. Based on the analysis of the data obtained using a set of methods, the scale of the presence, as well as the features of the sectoral and geographical structure of foreign TNCs in global US cities are estimated and visualized; specific models of their placement in individual agglomerations are illustrated (for example, New York, Houston and San Francisco). The map system allows a deeper understanding of the phenomenon and well reflects the increased attractiveness of global cities of the alpha group, the presence of a “division of labor” between US centers for attracting foreign companies of different functional profiles, the relative similarity of the spatial structure of foreign companies, the effectiveness of the mechanism of geographical proximity, the specifics of the priorities of TNCs when placed in the intra-agglomeration space. The presented developments can contribute to the development of the corporate segment of research in geo-urban studies and be useful for large businesses in the selection of counterparties and branch placement sites; to adjust documents and programs to attract foreign investment and create “poles of growth”, “zones of accelerated economic growth”; for the authorities of large cities in terms of ensuring the reception of foreign business.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69898400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
