T eenagers with this behavior also tend to interact passively by showing a lack of engagement with other people. This study aims to examine reality counseling to overcome the isolated behavior in teen students. This study used a One Group Pretest-Postest design of experiment, involving 10th grader students as many as 5 out of 53 students. Students were given a Likert Scale questionnaire before and after the treatment of the reality counseling. The result shows that reality counseling had a contribution to the improvement of the isolated behavior. The average score increases by 30.400 in pretest and post-test results, from 91.00 to 122.00. This study reveals that reality counseling could be used to overcome students’ isolated behavior. This means students show an increase in social interest in every aspect, such as inferior students trying to interact with other people and build self-confidence, domineering students start to change their perception by not comparing their ability to someone’s ability. In additon, selfish students were able to control their emotion and students who like to be alone could try to get along with their friends.","PeriodicalId":314841,"journal":{"name":"ProGCouns: Journal of Professionals in Guidance and Counseling","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116596587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A systematic approach analysis was utilized in this study while including seventeen articles. The exclusion criteria were articles published in reputable journals containing the research topic with the keywords “burden”, “finance”, and “stress”. The articles were categorized into four themes: mental health status, impact, quality of life, and burden towards family caregiving in Malaysia. The results showed that in the theme of mental health status, caregivers experienced significant stress and one of the factors is the family's lack of knowledge in dealing with stress. Meanwhile, in terms of impact, the results indicated that caregivers experienced negative impacts on their emotions and health. In the quality of life theme, the results presented that family caregiving had a positive impact on increasing bonding between patients and caregivers. While participants noted an overall sense of comfortability in the university setting, there were varying obstacles associated with navigating intersecting identities and physical presentation that were noted in the data. Excerpts from participant interviews were coded into five unique themes: (1) feeling “othered”/different from peers as well as fellow LGBTQ+ community members, (2) seeking comfortability with body/self, (3) facing stereotypes and image expectations based on presumed gender identity and/or sexual/affectional orientation, (4) general experiences as an LGBTQ+ community member in a rural university town, and (5) seeking increased support from the university.
