It then discusses the pros and cons of this article, which gives full rights to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in relation to their teaching and administrative autonomy. The social problem is as follows: Do HEIs (Higher Education Institutions) violate the law or not, as they are protected by Article 207 of the 1988 Brazilian Constitution? The aim of this study is to show how HEIs use Article 207 (BRAZIL, 1988) in their selection processes for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Brazil. \u0000Method: This investigation used the Experience Report as its method and the qualitative approach as its approach. \u0000Results and Discussion: The results of this study show that HEIs do violate the law. Unfortunately, there seems to be no supervision by public bodies, except when the MEC (Ministry of Education) or another recognized body visits these institutions to qualify or disqualify their courses at national level and even internationally (institutions other than the MEC). On these occasions, unfortunately, many camouflages are made by these HEIs. Reading this article, it becomes clear that the university autonomy of Article 207 of the 1988 Federal Constitution (BRAZIL, 1988) does not in fact guarantee democracy within the HEIs, especially when it comes to entering and remaining as a student, teacher and/or employee/servant, especially in public HEIs. \u0000Implications of the Research: This experience report explores the possibility of re-evaluating Article 207 of the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, to the extent that the autonomy guaranteed to Higher Education Institutions in Brazil is more effective, linked to constant inspections by public authorities without prior warning. Thus, it is understood that, although \"enslaved\" to a higher order represented by the Brazilian government and the legislation in force in Brazil, Brazilian universities will indeed be secular and for everyone. \u0000Originality/Value: This research and article, although short, raises for discussion a crucial point for guaranteeing democracy in access to higher education and postgraduate studies in Brazil, which is little debated. There is a lot of talk about autonomy within Brazilian universities today. Las creencias culturales y hábitos alimentarios examinan cómo las creencias arraigadas en la cultura de origen influyen en los hábitos alimentarios de las personas. Esto puede incluir creencias sobre la salud, la pureza de los alimentos, los roles de género en la cocina, entre otros aspectos. Existen actores que pueden influir en el proceso de aculturación dietética, como la exposición a medios de comunicación, migración, interacciones sociales, y políticas alimentarias. \u0000  \u0000Método: Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura científica utilizando bases de datos reconocidas como Scopus y SciELO. Se aplicó el método PRISMA, centrada en preguntas claves para la selección de estudios relevantes que abordaran la influencia cultural en las prácticas alimentarias \u0000  \u0000Resultados y Discusión: Los resultados obtenidos permitieron identificar la marcada influencia de las creencias, tradiciones y valores culturales en la percepción de los alimentos y en las prácticas alimentarias de una comunidad específica. Primero se ha preparado un argumento de búsqueda de palabras claves en Scopus, con lo que se han elaborado \u0000las estadísticas de publicaciones tales como: evolución en el tiempo, tipos de publicación, área del conocimiento y países; luego mediante el uso de Vosviewer se ha procedido a realizar la lectura analítica de los aportes teóricos, metodológicos y tendencias en el abordaje del fenómeno. Se concluye que según la base de datos de Scopus el tema es tratado desde el año 1979, pero desde el año 1980 al  1994 no se registró investigación alguna es hasta el año 2011  al 2023, cuando ha existido mayor interés por los investigadores, las publicaciones fundamentalmente se realizan como artículos originales, capítulos de libros y revisiones, los mismos que son abordados desde las ciencias sociales, administrativas y económicas , ingeniería y ciencias de la computación en los últimos años. En la explicación del fenómeno coexisten visiones clásicas que respaldan en la teoría de las preferencias, el individualismo y una visión del aprovisionamiento social que analiza la institucionalidad y considera, por lo tanto, debe ser examinado dentro de un contexto social. These scholars have emphasized the significant role of social security policies in the context of globalization, international integration, and technological advancements. The theoretical approach will be structured to address key issues related to social security policy, considering both material and spiritual aspects of individuals' lives.\u0000 \u0000Design/Methodology/Approach: The research adopts a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. In the core of the assessment, solid premises are crucial to ensure that the resulting value is representative of the reality imposed in the evaluation. This research aimed to analyze whether the values adopted in the projection premises align with the actual values over time.\u0000 \u0000Design/Methodology/Approach: Twelve (12) essential premises commonly used in assessment reports were considered. The unique aspect of this study is its focus on all takeover bid reports available at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil over the last 20 years.\u0000 \u0000Findings: The main results indicate that 50% of the analyzed premises exhibited some form of bias, predominantly an increase in the projected values compared to the actual values obtained. These findings were statistically proven through hypothesis tests for paired values.\u0000 \u0000Research, Practical & Social Implications: This research not only aims to contribute to the professional development of those involved in constructing assessment reports but also encourages future studies to focus on analyzing the quality of the premises used and their sources. Prado-Domínguez, Carlos Pateiro-López, Federico Martín-Bermúdez","doi":"10.26668/businessreview/2024.v9i3.4394","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.26668/businessreview/2024.v9i3.4394","url":null,"abstract":"Purpose: Our objective is to examine the switching costs that exist in the European postal service, where an ambitious process of opening up to competition has been carried out since 1997, as well as the different types of retention costs.\u0000 \u0000Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework is determined by the sectoral regulatory framework regarding the liberalization of services of general economic interest in the EU, the experience of postal operators in recent decades and the changes experienced in the demand for postal services in the current context of profound technological change in the field of communication.\u0000 \u0000Design/Methodology/Approach: This research work is carried out through a systematic review of the relevant specialized literature, the study of the policy decisions adopted in the EU, the changes in the strategies of postal operators and the rigorous analysis of the evolution of the demand of the postal services in a context of rapid and profound change.\u0000 \u0000Finding: Inadequate regulation of the access to some elements of postal infrastructure or services within the scope of the universal postal service, such as the postcode system, address database, post office boxes, delivery boxes, re-direction and retour to sender service, can generate switching costs and thus limiting competition, with negative effects on the consumer surplus and social welfare. Standardization and access to these elements may be regulated separately\u0000 \u0000Research, Practical & Social Implications: This article proposes solutions to the technical functions of coordination between operators. Our proposals are in line with sectoral directives aimed at strengthening competition in the long term in the postal market.\u0000 \u0000Originality/Value: A correct classification of the change costs applied to the liberalized postal service is made. Likewise, a classification of retention costs. Remote work facilitates business growth and improves customer service, yet it presents its challenges, necessitating an investigation into virtual team morale to guarantee project success.\u0000 \u0000Method: This study employed content analysis of readily available secondary data to examine the investigated phenomenon.\u0000 \u0000Results: The study determined that the key elements for enhancing project success in virtual teams are technology adoption, an environment free from distractions, effective leadership, trust, communication, a well-defined task, active team engagement, and motivation. The study also found that morale strongly influences engagement and productivity in virtual teams. One of the factors responsible for the abysmal performance is ineffective and incoherent technology transfer management through joint venture arrangements (Odusina, 2022). Therefore, there is a need to empirically investigate the impact of joint venture arrangements on Nigeria's oil and gas sector production which lacks sufficient research.\u0000 \u0000Methodology: The ex-post facto design was used where data were collected through secondary sources on the aggregate output of the joint venture companies and the total yearly output of the upstream sector of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry represented the performance of the Nigerian oil and gas sector in the period 1980 to 2021.
