Students are asked to make notes from the reading result individually (think). Students then interact and collaborate with friends to discuss the discussed tasks previously shared Teacher (talk). Furthermore, the students write the result of the discussion (write). The research method used is Classroom Action Research Method (PTK), This class is carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects of the study were the students of class VII A Junior High School Nurul Anwar Pakel Village, Montong District, Tuban Regency in the academic year 2016/2017, which numbered 28 students. The instrument used in this study is the test of learning and observation. Learning result test is used to measure student's success, observation is used through observation format to measure teacher and student performance in learning. The results showed an increase in value between before the study, cycle I and cycle II. Previously, before the research the average value of students is only 62.90, then the value of the cycle I score in the average student obtained 75,18 with 72% complete learning. The second cycle average value increased to 81,10 with 87.50% complete learning. Thus it can be concluded that student learning outcomes both individually and classically can be improved through the TTW learning model, it is suggested that biology learning with this approach can be used as an alternative method of teacher in delivering the subject matter especially on biology. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran biologi menjadi lebih baik, baik nilai individu maupun nilai klasik. Peneliti menggunakan model TTW ( Think Talk Write ), yang dalam pembelajaran ini. Siswa diminta membuat catatan dari hasil bacaan satu per satu (berpikir). Siswa kemudian berinteraksi dan berkolaborasi dengan teman-teman untuk mendiskusikan tugas-tugas yang dibahas yang sebelumnya dibagikan Guru (bicara). Selanjutnya, siswa menulis hasil diskusi (menulis). Metode yang digunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dalam 2 siklus. Subyek penelitian siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri Nurul Anwar Pakel Desa, Kecamatan Montong, Kabupaten Tuban pada tahun akademik 2016/2017, yang berjumlah 28 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pembelajaran dan observasi. Problems arise when learners lack understanding of concepts or even frequent misconceptions due to many abstract concepts. This study aims to determine the level of student understanding through a resume in the form of a portfolio. The research method used descriptive approach. The population of the study is the students of Biology Education study program which has taken the subject of cell Biology and molecular number of 102 students, and the sample determination using random cluster so that 40 students are obtained. Data were analyzed descriptively-quantitative. Based on the findings in the field, it is known that the average value of the resume portfolio of 71.60 and categorized high. Thus, the students' concept of understanding is in the high category so that the assignment method makes the resume in the form of portfolio able to give better understanding of the concept of lecture material of Cell and Molecular Biology, with the average value of concept understanding through portfolio is in high category. Abstrak Biologi sel dan molekuler merupakan salah satu topik yang sudah mengarah pada penerapan teknologi molekuler. Permasalahan muncul ketika peserta didik kurang memahami konsep atau bahkan sering miskonsepsi karena banyak konsep yang bersifat abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa melalui resume dalam bentuk portofolio. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Biologi yang telah mengambil matakuliah Biologi sel dan molekuler berjumlah 102 orang, dan penentuan sampel menggunakan cluster random sehingga diperoleh 40 mahasiswa. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif-kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil temuan di lapangan, diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil resume portofolio sebesar 71,60 dan dikategorikan tinggi. Dengan demikian, pemahaman konsep mahasiswa berada dalam kategori tinggi sehingga metode penugasan membuat resume yang berupa portofolio mampu memberikan hasil pemahaman konsep materi perkuliahan Biologi Sel dan Molekuler menjadi lebih baik, dengan nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep melalui portofolio berada dalam kategori tinggi. This is a classroom observation conducted in two classes of grade XI Science of Gondangrejo High School, which were selected randomly. Fifty-five students participated, and two biology teachers had also been involved. The pattern of scientific communication was analyzed based on 10 times observations of both classes, then all communications recorded and analyzed based on VICS Flanders. The hindrances of communication were checked based on categorization introduced by Lunenburg, which consists of four: process, physics, semantic, and psycho social. The findings of the research shows that the pattern of communication is mostly balance between teacher and students, which is represented by region C G J K L M P R (52.43%). Whilst, the area of teacher's domination is 24.79% (A B D E F H I ), and the area of student’s domination scores 22.78% (N O S T). The pattern of scientific communication is two ways communication between teacher and students, but the frequency of student to initiate the communication remains low. The factors hinder the communication process are process barriers. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui (1) pola komunikasi scientific pada pembelajaran biologi; (2) penyebab kendala komunikasi di kelas biologi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasi kelas, yang dilakukan di dua kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri Gondangrejo yang dipilih secara acak. Siswa yang terlibat sejumlah 55 siswa, dan dua orang guru biologi juga menjadi partisipan. Data penelitian adalah proses komunikasi di dalam kelas yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi pembelajaran di dua kelas selama 10 kali kemudian seluruh komunikasi direkam dan dianalisa berdasarkan VICS Flanders. Kendala komunikasi dianalisis berdasarkan kategorisasi menurut Lunenburg (2010) yang terdiri 4 kategori, yaitu proses, fisik, semantik, dan psikososial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola komunikasi yang terjadi adalah pola komunikasi seimbang antara guru dan siswa, dibuktikan dengan persentase wilayah C G J K L M P R (52.43%). Adapun persentase wilayah dominasi guru adalah 24.79% (A B D E F H I), dan presentase dominasi siswa adalah 22.78% (N O S T). Pola komunikasi scientific yang terbentuk merupakan komunikasi dua arah, tetapi menunjukkan inisiasi komunikasi scientific siswa rendah. Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the relevance and internal consistency in the design and develop of human anatomy teaching materials using the thinking map. This research is an educational design research consisting of preliminary, prototyping and assessment. At preliminary stage, researcher doing activity of instructional analysis of human anatomy material. At the prototyping stage, researchers designed the prototype of anatomical material using thinking map. Then the prototype is judged by the expert.  Revisions are made on the basis of the expert's assessment. Human anatomical material on the topics: human cells, basic tissues, integument systems, skeletal systems, muscular systems, digestive systems, respiratory systems and reproductive systems used as a content thinking map. Product quality is determined from internal relevance and consistency. The aspect of relevance and internal consistency is determined by the validity the content and construct validity. Indicators contained in the content validity instrument are language, image, subject, curriculum, purpose, concept, constructivism. The construct validity indicators are: consistent, flexible, growing, integrative and reflective. The results showed that the validator assessed 55 thinking maps of human anatomical material that had been designed with a valid mean score. Revisions have been made to improve product consistency. Product thinking map is also done through a good development process. Based on the results and discussion of the research it can be concluded that the human anatomy teaching material has been obtained using a map of thought with good internal relevance and consistency. Broader test or large group test is required to improve product resistance to revisions. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui relevansi dan konsistensi internal dalam perancangan dan pengembangan bahan ajar anatomi manusia dengan menggunakan peta pemikiran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian desain pendidikan yang terdiri dari pendahuluan, prototyping dan penilaian . Prosedur penelitian pada tahap awal, peneliti melakukan aktivitas analisis instruksional bahan anatomi manusia. Pada tahap prototyping, peneliti merancang prototipe bahan anatomis dengan menggunakan peta pemikiran. Kemudian prototipe dinilai oleh ahli . Revisi dibuat atas dasar penilaian ahli. Sikap dalam perkuliahan dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilan mahasiswa dalam mengikuti proses perkuliahan, demikian juga dengan sikap mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan Fisika Matematika. Untuk mengetahui sikap tersebut diperlukan sebuah instrument. Namun pada kenyataannya, sulit sekali mencari instrumen penilaian sikap terhadap mata kuliah Fisika Matematika. Therefore it is important to form ideal habits of mind. One of lessons that is often accepted by prospectivebiology teacher is practicum. The problem is whether the practicum is able to form students’shabits of mind? In this study an analysis is conducted of whether the practicum which is obtained by prospective biology teachers can form students’shabits of mind. The method is survey method with 100 students who have been following the practicums for 5 semesters. Data obtained through questionnaire ofCosta and Kallick’shabits of mind which contains 16 categories. The result is 85% of students have habits of mind with strong criteria, 13% very strong criteria, and 2% have enough criteria. And also, 75% of students have strong criteria, 12.5% ​​have enough criteria, and 12.5% ​​have very strong criteria. Very strong criteria is belong to habits of mind categorystriving for accuracy and interdependently thinking. Abstrak Tujuan pendidikan bukan hanya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tetapi juga untuk membentuk kebiasaan atau karakter berpikir cerdas ( habits of mind ). Oleh karena itu perlu upaya untuk melatih agar terbentuk habits of mind yang ideal. Salah satu pembelajaran yang sering diterima oleh mahasiswa calon guru biologi adalah pembelajaran praktikum. Permasalahannya adalah apakah praktikum yang diterima oleh mahasiswa mampu membentuk habits of mind mahasiswa? Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis mengenai apakah praktikum yang diperloleh oleh mahasiswa calon guru biologi dapat membentuk habits of mind mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan partisipan sebanyak 100 mahasiswa yang telah mengikuti praktikum setiap selama 5 semester. Data diperoleh melalui instrumen berupa angket habits of mind dari Costa dan Kallick yang memuat 16 kategori. Dari 16 kategori sebanyak 85% mahasiswa memiliki habits of mind dengan kriteria kuat, 13% kriteria sangat kuat, sisanya 2% memiliki kriteria cukup. Dari 16 kategori habits of mind, 75% memiliki kriteria Kuat, 12,5% memiliki kriteria cukup, dan 12,5% memiliki kriteria sangat kuat. Kriteria sangat kuat dimiliki oleh kategori habits of mind striving for accuracy dan thinking interdependently . That's because with critical thinking, individuals can be trained to solve problems in different and diverse ways. Giving problems to be solved by the student can track the ability to think critically well, because to solve the problem, one must have the ability to think critically. The purpose of this research is to describe the students' critical thinking profile in solving a valid and reliable microbiological problem. The type of research used is descriptive research using qualitative approach. Subjects in this study were some students of Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University who have taken microbiology courses in 2014/2015 academic year, amounting to 6 students, students drawn from 3 high, medium, and low category based on the value of microbiology course. The results of this study indicate that the critical thinking level of Biology University students of Lambung Mangkurat is dominant in critical thinking with critical and critical category. Students who take the course of microbiology certainly have different levels of critical thinking on each person based on written assignments that have been given. Abstrak Berpikir kritis adalah proses intelektual yang secara aktif mengkonseptualisasi, mengimplementasikan, menganalisis, mensintesis, dan mengevaluasi informasi yang dikumpulkan atau dihasilkan dari pengamatan, pengalaman, refleksi, penalaran, atau komunikasi, untuk membimbing keyakinan dan tindakan. Hal ini dikarenakan dengan pemikiran kritis, individu dapat dilatih untuk memecahkan masalah dengan cara yang berbeda dan beragam. Memberikan masalah yang harus diselesaikan oleh siswa dapat melacak kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan baik, karena untuk memecahkan masalah, seseorang harus memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil berpikir kritis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah mikrobiologi yang valid dan reliabel. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah beberapa mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Lambung Mangkurat yang telah mengambil mata kuliah mikrobiologi pada tahun akademik 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 6 mahasiswa, yang diambil dari 3 kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berdasarkan nilai mata kuliah mikrobiologi. This study was quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design nonequivalent. The participant or subject of research consisted of 67 Senior High School students in Kediri in Academic Year of 2016/2017 distributed in two classes: 33 students in the 11th Natural Science 2 Grade as experiment class and 34 students in the 11th Natural Science 3 Grade as existing class. The instrument used to collect data on critical thinking skill was essay test. Experiment class was treated using inquiry lesson-based module, and existing class using module commonly used at school. Data analysis employed t-test at significance level with p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05). The gap between pre- and posttest scores was 20.99% for experiment class and 10.76% for existing class. From the result of research, it could be concluded that learning using inquiry lesson (IL)-based immunity system in learning process is very significant to empower the students’ critical thinking skill. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan produk modul sistem imunitas berbasis inquiry lesson (IL) untuk memberdayakan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi-eksperimental dengan pretest-posttest control group design nonequivalent. Partisipan subjek penelitian dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kediri tahun Akademik 2016/2017 berjumlah 67 siswa didistribusikan di dua kelas yaitu 33 siswa kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 34 siswa kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksiting. Instrumen test keterampilan berpikir kritis menggunakan test essay. Perlakuan penelitian pada kelas eksperimen menggunakan modul berbasis inquiry lesson dan kelas eksiting menggunakan modul umum yang digunakan di sekolah. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifiansi nilai p = 0,000 (p<0,05). Gap skor pra dan pasca tes adalah 20,99% kelas eksperimen sedangkan kelas eksiting 10,76%. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan modul sistem imunitas berbasis inquiry lesson (IL) dalam proses pembelajaran sangat signifikan untuk memberdayakan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Based on the above data can be conclu ded that the application of cooperative learning model type jigsaw significantly influence the cognitive abilities and social skills of students on excretory system material in SMA Negeri 15 Palembang. The correlation test results of these two variables have a lower significance of 0.05 (Sig <0.05) was 0.002 and the correlation coefficient value was 0.549 indicating that there was a relationship between the cognitive ability and social skills of students with a positive relationship direction . Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw terhadap kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan sosial siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi di SMA Negeri 15 Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Quasi Experimental Design dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design . Berdasarkan data diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan sosial siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi di SMA Negeri 15 Palembang. Adapun hasil uji korelasi dua variabel tersebut memiliki signifikansi lebih rendah dari 0,05 (Sig < 0,05) yaitu 0,002 dan nilai koefisien korelasinya yaitu 0,549 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan sosial siswa dengan arah hubungan yang positif. The results of material expert validation to microfinance based worksheet in context of water microbiology materials that have been developed with the feasibility of the contents show 93.75% included in the category of very good; Feasibility of presentation shows 91.44% included in the category of very good; The feasibility of the contextual inquiry component indicates 87.82% in the category of good good; The design validation results show that 89.06% percentage is included in the category of very good; The result of the assessment by the lecturer shows 93.75% is included in the category of very good; Individual tests show  86,66% included in the category of very good; Small group test showed 87.22% included in the category of very good; The test of the restricted group shows 91.12% included in the the category  of very good. Test based on the data the product worksheet based on inquiry of contextual material of water microbiology which have been developed feasible to be used for student as worksheet in Microbiology course.
