By understanding the Islamic strategy in building peace in Indonesia, we can find conflict resolution that must be developed in life. This study argues that conflict and Islam’s strategy in building peace is a study of conflict resolution in overcoming violence and truth claims in religion. Thus, this study formulates the question of how religious conflict and Islamic strategies of peace building in Indonesia are? This study uses the library research to find sources of conflict and Islamic strategies in building peace in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that conflict and Islamic strategies in building peace provide an overview: (1) the conflict has become a public debate about truth claims and religious violence; (2) religious culture and moderation are the strategy of Islam in building peace in Indonesia. Gusjigang is a dialectic reflection between fiqh and local wisdom in Kudus city. This philosophy is applied in daily life which leads to being a completely human character. The form of responsiveness fiqh found in the Pengajian Pitulasan Yayasan Menara Kudus is to use the method and approach of qauli by involving dialogical elements that reflect the public mind even though it is still at a small level. This research is a type of field research based on literature review as know as library research with the documentary-historical method. The data also shows that the form of fiqh responsiveness in the Pengajian Pitulasan has absorbed various dimensions of life such as the economic, social, health, and other fields. It is because Islamic education is often impressed as an education social fabrication system that is dogmatic, doctrinal, monolithic, and does not have a multicultural perspective. Meanwhile, the fact is that the position of Islamic education in developing dialogue with the community is very strategic since the fundamental of Islamic education is rahmatan lil 'alamiin, which can hold various aspects of life. It is a literature qualitative research with a documentary review and data analysis which uses three plots of activities that occur simultaneously, that are data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, or verification. The findings of this study include the theoretical level of the conceptualization of multicultural education by synthesizing western thoughts to be led to a map of Islamic thought, so as to produce methods, values, and the urgency of multicultural education on the basis of Islamic theology. Namely unity in the divine aspect and its message (revelation), prophetic unity, no compulsion in religion, and recognition of the existence of other religions. This research also found the essence of multiculturalism as a frame model for Islamic education, as well as the appropriate multicultural Islamic education method to be applied in Indonesia. These values include: unity of humankind, competition in good works, forgiveness toward humankind, living together, equality/egilitarianism, mutual understanding, mutual respect, trust, positive thinking, tolerance, and non-violence. On the one hand, Islam is seen as a religion of compassion (raḥmat li al-‘ālamīn), respects plurality, upholds tolerance and cares about human rights. On the other hand, Islam is often identified with separatism, discrimination, intolerance and violent phenomena. In Islamic countries and Muslim-majority countries, violations of human rights frequently occur. Islam often appears with a double face. In addition to being a source of law to bring about peace, it is often used as the basis for violent ideologies from state’s repressive policies to terrorism movements. This article elaborates on the basic concept of human rights in Islam and the dynamics of protecting and upholding human rights. Using a conceptual approach, this study aims to seek religious awareness in the midst of globalization where religion can strengthen the concepts of human rights. The formulation of the problem in this study; how the deradicalization strategy and the implications of the program. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. This study shows that Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a strategic step taken by the Lingkar Peace Foundation through ideological development, assistance to convict families and economic recovery. Then, the character values in tazkiyah al-nafs are integrated into the concept of character formulated by the Ministry of Education.The concept of character by the Ministry of Education has a clear nationalism vision but has no technical direction. Then it can be filled with tazkiyah al-nafs by Abū Hasan al-Nadwī who has technical directions. The integration of the concept of character by the Ministry of Education and tazkiyah al-nafs by Abū Hasan al-Nadwī is useful for producing a character concept that has technical direction and has a nationalism vision. The research method used is integration-interconnection. Eighteen character values by the Ministry of Education are filled with tazkiyah al-nafs by Abū Hasan al-Nadwī which includes fiqh dhahir and fiqh bathin. The methodology employed in this research was a qualitative approach using a multistrategy, namely interviews, documentation, and observation. This study’s results revealed that at the first point regarding teachers’ perceptions of the policy, they tended to agree that there were several suggestions at the level of academic concepts, such as the need to be given a special space for Fiqh Siyasah content. Second, in the Khilafah material at Minister of Religion Decree (Keputusan Menteri Agama, KMA) Number 165 of 2014, absolutely no elements lead to radicalism. It all depended on how the teacher taught it. The Qur’an not only regulates the affairs of the hereafter or ritual worship, but the Qur’an also regulates world affairs or social worship. One of the most important matters that the Qur’an pays attention to is the issue of education. This study aims to explore the five components of prophetic in education contained in Surat al-’Alaq. This type of research is library research using descriptive qualitative methods. The analysis used is content analysis, namely by analyzing the contents of the texts which are research data. While the data sources include primary data sources and secondary data sources. The primary data sources are the interpretation of al-Munir by Wahbah az-Zuhaili and the interpretation of al-Mishbah by Quraish Shihab. While the secondary data includes various books of interpretation, journals and other books that are relevant to the research. As for the findings, that the components of education contained in the Surah al-’Alaq: First, Allah SWT as an educator. Second, Prophet Muhammad SAW as a student. Third, educational materials that are not dechotomous. Fourth, the method of education with habituation and repetition. Fifth, educational media has a very important meaning. In Surah al-’Alaq it is called “ al-Qalam ” or writing tools. As a matter of fact, the Indonesian youths merely use their intellectual skills to explore the technological advancement while neglecting the values of virtue, character, and attitude. Thus, it is necessary to recall the thoughts of the Indonesian prominent scholar Ki Hadjar Dewantara who combined multidiciplinary sciences and Indonesian local values as a reference to solve the aforementioned problem. This study is a library research which aims at investigating thoroughly his thoughts, especially ones concerning with the educational theories as well as interpreting the unstructured existing methods used in Indonesian education. The results show that Ki Hadjar Dewantara presented educational ideas from the perspective of multidiciplinary sciences, especially from Sufi Elements in Islam. Ki Hadjar Dewantara introduced this method in three levels: Firstly, children aged 0-7 can be given sharia-packaged exemplary and habituation methods. Secondly, children aged 7-14 can be given hakikat method which applies reward and punishment. Many contemporary scholars, regardless of their motives and trends, describe modern Islamic movements as Kharijites, due to their advocacy for radical social and political reform in many of the Muslim countries. Therefore, there is a need for addressing the genuineness of this description, especially when it is generally attributed to the whole contemporary Islamic movements across the Muslim nations, as it is the case in the view of the Madkhalists. Indeed, the misplacement of this description on some Islamic movements opens the door of political oppression and leads to the justification of shedding the innocent blood and the persecution of the righteous Muslims, based on the political disagreement, as it is the case in many Arab and Muslim countries, i.e., Egypt. So, this study discusses the historical background of the contemporary Islamic movements and their relationship with the Kharijites in order to figure out the range of correspondence between the principles of Kharijites and contemporary Islamic movements. The qualitative method is being applied in the study by adopting a historical, inductive, and analytical approach. It reveals that the contemporary Islamic movements can be loosely categorized into two major groups, one of which cannot be described as the Kharijites in all perspectives, while the other one can be described as the Kharijites due to the tight closeness between their trends and ideologies and the principles of the Kharijites.
