In this paper, weinvestigate the numerical solutions of the scalp potentials in two head models, an ovoid head model and spherical model by using Weighted Residuals BEM based on two kinds of basis functions. The comparison of the maps of scalppotentials versus different dipole parameters in two models is made. The relative differences of potential, computing time and reliability are also presented. The results show that the patterns of potentials in different head shapes are similar but there is difference in magnitude of potential. The dipole position has great effect on the shift of peak potential. The method based on orthogonal basis is superior to that based on constant basis in computing time and accuracy.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130505435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, for fast SIFT feature matching, we propose a method to optimize the priority k-d tree search algorithm by choosing a proper number of leaf nodes examined (denoted as Emax) in a single k-d tree. In order to get the relationships among the number of SIFT features, Emax and the precisions achieved by the priority k-d tree search algorithm in a single k-d tree, the properties of a single k-d tree and that of the priority k-d tree search algorithm are combined. Referring to these relationships, a proper value of Emax can be selected to achieve an approximate precision in fast time. And then, in image registration, in order to improve matching precision, we have designed the bidirectional priority k-d tree search algorithm in this paper. I. e. the priority k-d tree search algorithm is used twice.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116903012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve the problem, this paper presents an improved wavelet enhancement algorithm based on the classification of the voiced/unvoiced signal. First, we eliminate part of the noise through spectral subtraction algorithm and separate voiced signal from unvoiced signal according to its short-time energy. Second, the Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT) is made on unvoiced speech to prevent signal distortion. Then dynamic thresholds are applied to different wavelet analytical scales to avoid a much smoother signal waveform. Finally, a new adaptive threshold function is used to make up the disadvantages of soft and hard thresholding algorithm. Experiments show that the proposed method can remove much noise while keeping intelligibility of the reconstructed speech.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131584393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With a comprehensive understanding of the challenges ( semantic and intention gaps), we simplify the problem with some assumptions, and formalize it into an optimization problem, which is intractable to solve directly. We propose a Bayesian and video hypergraph framework for video summarization. The Bayesian framework aims at analyzing users' browsing logs and inferring users' preference towards videos. There are two distinct features involved this framework, continuous streaming collaborative filtering via random walks, and modeling users' preference by Latent Dirichlet Allocation ( LDA ). LDA is also used as a dimension reduction method. With users' preference probabilities calculated in Bayesian framework, the optimization can be integrated into a video hypergraph framework in order to guarantee the coherence of video summary. We finally approximately solve the optimization problem by choosing representative clips within sub-graph partitioned by spectral clustering. Experiments show that our solution supports user-specific video summarization.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122366637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To render a full color image, an interpolation process, commonly know as demosaicking, is required. However, most demosaicking techniques proposed in the literature are developed for Bayer CFA. These algorithms cannot be directly adopted in CCFA because they have quite different filter array pattern. This paper presents a new edge-adaptive color interpolation approach for CCFA. It consists of two successive steps: interpolating in horizontal direction, and then an edge-directed interpolation is applied in vertical or diagonal direction. Experimental results confirm the performance of this algorithm both objectively and subjectively.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128130397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays the Uniform Circular Arrays (UCA) arouse more and more attention due to their remarkable characteristics. In this paper, we derive the ambiguity formulation, the resolution and Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) functions on the basis of the study of data model, the radiation pattern and the array structures. Then the influence factors on the two kinds of UCA's angle ambiguity characteristic, such as the radius, the numbers of array elements and the elevation are systematically studied. In this paper we also systematically study the factors that can influence the resolution and CRLB's values. The paper concludes by demonstrating the simulations that the theoretical analysis is certified correct.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124892733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is found that the correlation output deteriorates greatly when the FM interference power exceeds the anti-jamming limitation of the radar. A new method is proposed based on adaptive STFT and median filter for FM interference suppression. This method implements the filtering of the received signal by substituting the median filter output for only a portion of the TF plane corrupted by the interference. The echo signals corrupted by two types of interference including linear FM (LFM) and sinusoidal FM (SFM) forms under different signal-to-jamming ratio (SJR) situations are simulated. It is shown that the method can effectively suppress the FM interference and improve the performance of target detection significantly.","PeriodicalId":309902,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121811738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent research provides the deflation approach to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of stationary targets by using symmetric uniform linear arrays (ULAs) under different unknown fading conditions. In this paper, a modified deflation approach using an adaptive signal processing is proposed to achieve DOA tracking capability for moving targets under various degrees of correlation.
