The materials of this exhibition demonstrated the technique of mechanizing the labor of accounting workers, the experience of using calculating machines in various sectors of the national economy. The exhibition “For socialist accounting” in the period from 1926 to 1952 was the only institution in the USSR that carried out propaganda and scientific tasks in the rationalization of management. In the first place, resistance of several renowned computer science experts against “copying” of the IBM architecture and perception of such a decision as an attack on creativity. The main results of the program are presented.
