Since the Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences was established (January 25, 1994), Viktor Ivannikov supervised the work of his team in a wide range of relevant areas of system programming. Here, we list his great creative contributions to the development of ideology and technology of creation and functioning of operating systems of computers and computing complexes.","PeriodicalId":309778,"journal":{"name":"2020 Fifth International Conference “History of Computing in the Russia, former Soviet Union and Council for Mutual Economic Assistance countries” (SORUCOM)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134376599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the example of creating the Elbrus-KB computing complex, we demonstrate the features of the approach to implementing new ideas. The author also gives an opinion about the great potential of the ideas and capabilities of the Russian engineering school as an example of the revival of the idea of a ternary computer, which was implemented by N.P. Brusnetsov in the 60s of the last century.","PeriodicalId":309778,"journal":{"name":"2020 Fifth International Conference “History of Computing in the Russia, former Soviet Union and Council for Mutual Economic Assistance countries” (SORUCOM)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124355818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author pays special attention to the Decree of the CPSU Central Committee and the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated October 6, 1958, which laid the basis for development of the Soviet electronics. Furthermore, the author considers new inventions in this sphere related to the use of semiconductors and microelements. The author comes to conclusion that the CPSU Central Committee in a timely manner reacted to the suggestions of government departments and took all necessary steps regarding the development of electronic computing machines (ECM) in the USSR.","PeriodicalId":309778,"journal":{"name":"2020 Fifth International Conference “History of Computing in the Russia, former Soviet Union and Council for Mutual Economic Assistance countries” (SORUCOM)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124993548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
