This study used survey research design and the samples were 44 master students of Applied Linguistics Department who had academic degree of B.Ed in TEFL in one of state universities in Yogyakarta. This study found that EFL prospective teacher educators had favorable beliefs towards WhatsApp integration in English learning and teaching. They perceived true that the use of WhatsApp was sine qua non of increasing the learners’ English learning proficiency, motivation, autonomy, and language attitude and creating fun and enjoyable English learning atmosphere. This research aims at describing the speech level use in socio cultural perspective of Madurese ethnic society in Tapal Kuda regions. The method used to reach the research aims is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. The data were collected through participatory and non-participatory observations, interviews, note-taking, and recording.  The data collected were transcribed into the written data and then analysed with pragmatic theory. BLKhas30 students who prepare their English to work at offices. The English materials are supplied by BLK staff. This paper aims at finding out errors and interlanguage phenomena which occur in the English for Office material used at BLK training. The data were collected by observing the English for Office material at BLK. The result shows that the English for Office materialsat BLKhave grammatical errors, inter-language issues, and sentence or item ambiguity. The grammatical errors consist of misused forms and ambiguous words. The researcher used questionnaire to investigate and elicit opinion related to the needs, demands for English skills and preference of English learning activities, difficulties and barriers encountered by the students in learning English. The result reveals that most students show high demand on the speaking skill and want to develop it more. Besides, this research reveals that the students are facing difficulties and problems in communication because of the lacks of vocabulary, speaking skill, and grammar. This can be attributed to the Indonesian language programs that focus mostly on teaching formal Indonesian grammar and vocabularies, neglecting informal conversational Indonesian which is essential for the acquisition of pragmatic competence. This paper discusses the importance of pragmatic competence in Indonesian language learning, including learning various speeches commonly used in daily interactions. Based on recordings of learners’ interactions as well as notes on observations of teaching-learning activities in selected Indonesian abroad programs, this paper describes the challenges of developing pragmatic competence based on examples of learners’ non-grammatical errors as well as inappropriate interactional uses of Indonesian. They use metaphors in daily communication. In this paper, the writer tried to analyze them from force schemas to show the cognitive patterns of the users’ mind. . This paper aims at discussing the use of force schema in Javanese EMOTION metaphor. To collect the data, the writer used non-participant observation supported by note-taking technique. To choose the samples, the writers used purposive sampling technique. This means that the writers only took the metaphorical expressions containing a concept of emotion especially force schema conceptualization. To analyze the data, the writers used referential identity method. The writers used the method to uncover the meaning and the attitude of the speakers in using the expressions. The writer found that force schema used in Javanese EMOTION metaphors are compulsion, enablement, diversion, and restraint-removing force schemas. The writer also found that Javanese people have active and inactive responses when they get emotion. The number of participants taken by researcher are 20 students either experimental and control group. The collecting of data used by researcher is to apply an essay test and reading texts. Researchers build up the test of instrument validity and reliability before the instruments are tested in experimental group. Then, researcher did independent sample t-test untuk find out the mean score of cognitive ability of students in language grammar on reading skills. The result of finding gained by research stated that sig (2-tailed) 0.000 is less than 0.05. it meant that there is difference of influencing cognitive ability of students in language grammar on reading skills but in independent sample t-test, the result is 0.164 > 0,05. The tutor of that learning Indonesian for the foreigners (BIPA) must choose the appropriate methods for making teaching and learning process runs well and interesting. This paper is written based on the literature which aims at promoting a game, Visit My Stall, game for learning Indonesian as a foreign language. This paper also tries to show the explanation about this game, how to implement it, roles of the teacher and learners, as well as the assessment and the advantages offered. This game is created based on the principles of Communicative Language Teaching and Cooperative Learning in which learners are given the opportunities for cooperating with their group actively and interacting by exchanging their ideas to solve the problems in the form of tasks given by the teacher by means for achieving the same goals of each group. This game is not only to improve learners’ speaking skill in Indonesian, but also to motivate them when the learning process takes place. The program is done to answer the need of the participants for English communication skill in the workplace. The needs analysis in this article is needed to see the necessity of such skill for the job-seekers. It also examines whether the program has become the answer for their necessity. The needs analysis also helps the teacher and institution to develop a better strategy in content and sequencing so that the program that is done in limited time can be organized effectively. In this case, the data is collected through the questionnaire and interview. The quantitative and descriptive qualitative method is done to analyze the data. The result shows that the speaking skill is the most important skill needed by the participants. This form is acquired in the early stage of natural acceptance and whether the earliest will guarantee ESL students to understand and compose it easily. This research is designated to investigate errors, sources of errors, and error tendencies made by students in composing –ing form. This research was carried out at UAD University in the English Department. Writing essay test was utilized to diagnose the tendency of –ing form misconception. Erroneous data were identified and categorized based on surface structure taxonomies and communication effect taxonomies. The findings prove that –ing form construction is not that easy for students to compose. Misformation frequenly appears due to some inappropriate formulation, mainly when students are asked to compose the –ing form as the constituent of phrase or clause, the direct object of certain verbs, and object of preposition with a particle of preposition to. The main factor affecting the deviation is caused by the distinct linguistic system of both English and Indonesian.
