The article offers a theoretical exploration of qualitative (qualitative historical background, features, methods and qualitative strengths and weaknesses) and a structural critical analysis on qualitative studies (study purpose, literature review, study design, method, results and discussion, and conclusion). Two qualitative education research paper were selected and analysed with a view to arguing that qualitative research gives more contributions than others. Hatuhaha language (BHT) and Malay language (BM) were used based on their needs. When Portuguese and The Netherlands ruled there, Hatuhaha communities (HA) forced down from the mountain and occupied the coastal areas. The use of Hatuhaha language (BHT) began to be prohibited; especially in the Hulaliu village which have been Christianized. On the contrary, in the four villages which were not Christianized, Hatuhaha language (BHT) was limited use because they did not always have business with the colonial. Furthermore, religious fragmentation occurs gradually, and impacted sosiologically on the development of Hatuhaha language (BHT). This phenomenon is then examined by quantitative and qualitative approaches that utilize the library study method, observation, survey, and interview. The results showed that in addition to the factors of colonization and Christianization, religious practice in Hatuhaha community (HA) has given more significant impact on Hatuhaha language (BHT) shift. The song has become viral over children and adults alike. This research is undertaken to find out; the composer’s attitudes, the social relation among the participants, and the context of the situation in the discourse. The object of the study is obtained from the whole lyrics. Then it is analyzed through Appraisals and Critical Discourse Analysis by connecting every single line to the intentional marketing and social context. Finally, the conclusion shows that “Baby Shark” is a song about local wisdom education in Korea. The composer implicitly admires the shark and uses it as metaphor of Korean people mindset. In conjunction to the glance of debate definition, the researcher analyzed the annual world most prestigious debating championship, WUDC 2016, which took place in Thessaloniki, Greece. In this research descriptive qualitative method was used. The source of this research was taken from video streaming on Youtube showing ESL grand final round between University of Indonesia team A (Indonesia) as Prime Minister (PM) and RWTH Aachen team A (Germany) as leader of opposition (LO). The song lyrics are associated in the study of deixis since they express the singer’s or song writer’s feeling or emotion represented by some expressions of human thoughts, ideas, opinions. The descriptive method with qualitative approach was involved in this study. The data were obtained from top five popular keroncong songs lyrics performed by Waldjinah entitled Walang Kekek, Yen Ing Tawang Ana Lintang, Anoman Obong, Tanjung Perak and Rondo Kempling. Based on the findings, the person deixis was found as the most dominant type. It is in accordance with the function of person deixis that mostly deals with people interaction. The person deixis found in this study is used to maintain interaction between Waldjinah as a singer and her audience. The researcher used a qualitative approach by using case study method. Data collection technique used is documentation and observation. Data were analyzed using inductive models, with the steps: observation of data, insights into the structure of the data, the formulation of hypotheses, testing hypotheses. The results of this research indicate that the language acquisition of children aged 1.4 years on average amounted to 40 words that structure largely intact as a word yet, but it is understood its meaning. Language acquisition obtained from the two languages simultaneously (simultaneous bilingual) language is Indonesian and Bengkulu. The children are able to pronounce vowels a, i, u, e, and o in forming words. Then, the boy also has been able to say 13 consonants, namely b, c, d, h, j, k, m, n, p, s, t, w and y. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan aspek fonologis dan morfologis pemerolehan bahasa anak berusia 1,4 tahun dalam keluarga bilingual. Penelitian adalah studi kasus menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan metode dokumentasi dan observasi. Data dianalisis dengan model induktif dengan beberapa langkah, yaitu pengamatan terhadap objek yang diteliti, pemahaman terhadap struktur data, penyusunan hipotesis, dan pengujian hipotesis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerolehan bahasa anak 1,4 tahun rata-rata memiliki 40 kata dengan memahami maknanya. Their language is categorized as endangered. However, the data in the field (2012) showed that the language is still used by Lom speakers. This study describes the transmission linkage index and the realm of the family with the characteristics of the respondent. This study aims to reveal the vitality of Lom language based on the efforts of the older generation to maintain Lom language and the attitudes toward Lom language. Additionally, it describes the basic vocabulary of Swadesh Lom language. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The samples were taken using purposive sampling. The respondents were given a list of 80 questions to the speakers in the Air Abik. The criteria of vitality based on Grims (2001) cover being extinct, critically endangered; endangered; suffered a setback; secure. The characteristics of the respondents are based on sex and age groups. The findings show that the use of language in the realm index families can be identified secure, which is worth 0.85 and 0.84 in male respondents and female. Based on the identification index, the attitude of Lom speakers can be categorized to be positive. Masyarakat di dusun Air Abik, Kecamatan Belinyu, Kabupaten Bangka bertutur dalam bahasa Lom. Bahasa Lom dikategorikan sebagai bahasa yang hampir punah. Akan tetapi, data di lapangan (2012) menunjukkan bahwa bahasa Lom masih digunakan penuturnya. Penelitian inimendeskripsikan keterkaitan indeks transmisi dan ranah keluarga dengan karakteristik responden. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana vitalitas bahasa Lom dan sikap bahasa penuturnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan vitalitas bahasa Lom berdasarkan upaya pewarisan bahasa oleh generasi tua terhadap generasi muda dan ranah penggunaan bahasa Lom serta sikap bahasa penuturnya. Selain itu, dideskripsikan kosakata dasar Swadesh bahasa Lom. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling dengan mengajukan daftar tanyaan kepada 80 responden penutur di Air Abik. Kriteria vitalitas yang diacu adalah pendapat Grims (2001), yaitu punah, kritis; terancam punah; mengalami kemunduran; aman. Karakteristik responden berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan kelompok usia. Temuan dalam penelitian ini mendeskripsikan indeks penggunaan bahasa pada ranah keluarga yang diidentifikasi aman, yaitu bernilai 0,85 dan 0,84 pada responden laki-laki dan perempuan. Indeks transmisi bahasa ibu antargenerasi diidentifikasi aman (bernilai 0,84) pada responden laki-laki dan mengalamikemunduran (bernilai 0,72) pada responden perempuan. Indeks transmisi bahasa ibu antargenerasi dan penggunaan bahasa pada ranah keluarga diidentifikasi, mengalamikemunduran(bernilai 0,69 dan 0,75) pada responden kelompok usia 51 tahun. For Kudus people, Indonesian has become the favored language and JDK is considered inferior. This situation discourages the study of dialect. Therefore, a corpus was constructed in a fieldwork, sampling three genres: spontaneous conversation, elicited spoken narratives, and newspaper articles. The results indicate the existence of two constructions, one marked by –i and one marked by either standard –(a)ke or dialectal –na . Generally –i occurs more frequently than –na and –(a)ke , but the relative prominence of the other two markers –na and –(a)ke is not consistent. This might be a genre effect that occurs in these corpora. There appears to be a conscious selection of the dialect-marked form –na by the writer of the articles who ignores the use of –(a)ke .This study also demonstrates that adult speakers use –n a twice as frequently as do the youngers. By contrast –(a)ke is used more frequently by younger speakers than adults. The marker –i is used with approximately the same frequency by both groups. Therefore, every preschool or primary school has its own technique in teaching pronunciation as the stepping stone to teach reading to its students. KinderStation Preschool (TK Cahaya Bangsa Utama) Yogyakarta is one of the preschools in Yogyakarta that teaches reading to the students using phonics approach, especially analytic phonics. This paper has two objectives. First, it is to describe the application of phonics at KinderStation Preschool. Second, it aims to describe the result of the application of phonics at KinderStation Preschool. To answer those goals, field study is utilized by doing observation and interview. The employment of analytic phonics covers three points; they are the learning materials, the learning media, and the learning process applied in KinderStation Preschool. The application of phonics in teaching reading results on the development of students’ reading fluency.
