The angle of light distribution and light intensity of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) product are considered as important parameters to produce an appropriate design to be simulated by Zemax. The simulations demonstrate the relation between the reflector shape, angle of reflector with the LED lamp base and the distance between the reflector and the LED with the illuminance. The results of these simulations show that pair of LED with plane side reflector at an angle of 45° with the lamp base and 3 mm from the LED edge gives the best illumination pattern. Optical tomography system detects the objects that are present in the pipeline without have to invade the material inside. This system is very useful for monitoring purpose in industrial pipeline. Therefore, in order to develop this system, hardware part plays an important rule. Sensor selection must be done with caution because most of the problems occur in making the circuit is an inconsistency between the sender and the receiver. The problem that often occurs is the receiver pair will receive the wrong signal from the transmitter. To solve this problem sensor jig with collimator will be developed. In hardware development, LM324, PIC18F4550 and PIC18F4520 are used as a major component. This system is capable of transmitting data from the sensors part to the computer using RS232 cable. This project is very useful to facilitate the maintenance and monitoring as well as to reduce maintenance costs. Procedure of the fabrication includes etching process where a harmless chemical solvent, acetone, is used in order to remove the cladding layers gradually in accordance to the etching rate. The exposed region of the core is then aligned with another similar strand of fiber. The bending radii or bending angle is determined using particular size of circular blocks. Several experiments using different etched rate fibers attached to circular blocks having the same radii is demonstrated to investigate the output power and insertion losses of the developed coupler. A minimum cross correlation of one can only be achieved by the best cross correlation property of the codes. In this research, Zero Cross Correlation (ZCC) code has been evaluated and compared with other codes in performing the result of effective power required. The OCDMA system using ZCC was constructed by using OptiSystem. The parameters are closely set to the theoretical parameters and 5 numbers of users are included in block diagram designation. Photodetector required low power efficient by using ZCC code. There is only small difference between the simulation estimations and theoretical result of ZCC with various effective powers. Optical sensor developed for water quality monitoring such as dissolved oxygen sensor becomes important such as monitoring the health of aquaculture environment. This optical DO sensor use oxygen quenching luminophore as the sensor material. In this work, the performance of tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10 phenanthroline)ruthenium(II) ([Ru(dpp)3]2+) was investigated through the thin films morphology and their luminescence spectral profile. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images result indicates that ([Ru(dpp)3]2+) doped Octyl-triEOS/TEOS/Triton x-100 composites form uniform thin film and reduce cracks, likely to produce a reliable luminophore sensor. In addition, the spectral profile for 3 different ([Ru(dpp)3]2+) concentration were observed using high-resolution UV-VIS Spectrometer. The emission wavelength for all the samples have the same peak which seen at 610 ± 4 nm. The emission intensity shows an increasing pattern proportional to the concentration of ([Ru(dpp)3]2+).
