The agents are heterogeneous in that their payoff matrices may differ from one another; we focus on the specific case when the payoff matrices, fixed throughout the evolution, correspond to prisoner's dilemma or snowdrift games. To carry out stability analysis, we identify the system's absorbing states when taking the number of cooperating agents as a random variable of interest. It is proven that when all the agents update frequently enough, the reachable final states are completely determined by the available types of payoff matrices. As a further step, we show how to control the final state by changing at the beginning of the evolution, the types of the payoff matrices of a group of agents.","PeriodicalId":308101,"journal":{"name":"2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126800020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, we analyze the solutions of the following charging optimization problems: the welfare-optimal problem, where the overall system cost is minimized; the fleet-optimal problem, where the charging cost of the fleet as a whole is minimized by a central agent, that is the PEV aggregator; the selfish-optimal problem, where the noncooperative PEVs aim at minimizing their individual charging cost. For a homogenous PEV fleet and a simplified problem setup, we show that the solutions of the three different approaches correspond to different valley-filling results. A main insight is that, as the population of PEVs grows, the selfish-optimal solution converges to the welfare-optimal solution. On the other hand, we show that the centralized fleet-optimal solution of the PEV aggregation can be recovered via decentralized selfish-optimal solutions with respect to an appropriate price signal as the population size grows. Finally, we demonstrate our technical results on a realistic PEV fleet case study.","PeriodicalId":308101,"journal":{"name":"2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125951560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed architecture considers stochastic bounds on the measurement noises and modeling uncertainties, providing probabilistic time-varying FD thresholds with guaranteed false alarms probability levels. The monitored LSS consists of several interconnected subsystems and the designed FD architecture is able to manage plugging-in of novel subsystems and un-plugging of existing ones. Moreover, the proposed PnP approach can perform the unplugging of faulty subsystems in order to avoid the propagation of faults in the interconnected LSS. Analogously, once the issue has been solved, the disconnected subsystem can be re-plugged-in. The reconfiguration processes involve only local operations of neighboring subsystems, thus allowing a scalable architecture. A consensus approach is used for the estimation of variables shared among more than one subsystem; a method is proposed to define the time-varying consensus weights in order to allow PnP operations and to minimize at each step the variance of the uncertainty of the FD thresholds. Simulation results on a Power Network application show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":308101,"journal":{"name":"2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123235332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reduction of saturations on the angular rate of reaction wheel actuators is addressed by means of control gain adaptation. The proposed adaptive control design has the following features: performances of the adaptive law are the same as those of a predefined linear time-invariant control when the state is close to the equilibrium; adaptation is structured allowing to include engineering considerations in the design; asymptotic stability is guaranteed based on Lyapunov arguments; fine tuning of adaptive gains is made by linear matrix inequality based convex optimization. The novelties compared to previous results are: to include actuator rate information in the adaptive scheme; to provide a simplified design procedure.","PeriodicalId":308101,"journal":{"name":"2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131117687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The producers are embedded in the existing energy grids. Based on the producers' own measurements and some coordination with the grid operators, the energy producers adjust locally their supply levels injected to the energy grids so as to maximize their profit without exceeding the grid capacities. We incorporate an asynchronous implementation in the distributed supply coordination and prove its convergence. We implement the proposed algorithm for Power-to-Gas facilities embedded in the energy grids, which consist of a gas grid, mobility sector, and power grid, to demonstrate that the distributed asynchronous supply coordination achieves the same optimal performances as those of the synchronized distributed supply coordination.","PeriodicalId":308101,"journal":{"name":"2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133439566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
