The study also aimed to examine the differentiation status of university students in terms of various variables of digital literacy levels. In addition, in the study, the digital literacy levels of university students were determined by gender, type of education (normal/secondary education), higher education level (associate / undergraduate/graduate), higher education program they are enrolled in, grade point average, class, average monthly income, social network with the most time spent. It is also aimed to examine the differentiation status in terms of the variables of average internet usage time during the day, the preferred tool for internet use, and the educational status of the parents. In this study, the survey model, which is one of the quantitative patterns, was used. The population of the study consisted of a total of 17,006 students, 11,500 undergraduate and 5,506 associate degree students, studying in 11 faculties, 4 colleges and 9 vocational colleges in the 2021-2022 academic year at a state university located in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The sample consisted of randomly selected 688 university students. The \"Digital Literacy Scale\" developed by Bayrakçı and Narmanlıoğlu in 2021 was used as a data collection tool. In the analysis process, nonparametric techniques were used since the data could not meet the assumptions of parametric techniques. As a result of the study, it was seen that the digital literacy levels of university students were low. In addition, it was concluded that there were statistically significant differences between university students' grade point averages, the social network they spend the most time on, the preferred tool in internet use, and the educational status of their parents and their digital literacy levels. Various suggestions were developed considering the results of the study.","PeriodicalId":30788,"journal":{"name":"Dinamika Ilmu","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46920585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Harmony, in this case, is related to the mixing of religions in one household, framed in the philosophy of local wisdom called “One Furnace-Three Stones”. This study uses a phenomenological qualitative design. Data were collected through field notes, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana techniques: data condensation, data display, and verification/conclusion drawing, as well as data validity using data triangulation techniques. The results showed that the practice of one furnace-three stone became the local wisdom of the people of Sorong, West Papua, namely understanding each other's beliefs about the religion they embraced without having to intervene in the beliefs of other families. The local wisdom creates harmony in education because it focuses on the educational aspect of self. If the education is good for the local community, then all will provide support from the family, youth leaders, and traditional leaders. Internal and external factors cause the supporting factors in realizing harmony in education. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor in realizing the harmony in education is the low economic background, which narrows the opportunity for children to choose the education they want.","PeriodicalId":30788,"journal":{"name":"Dinamika Ilmu","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42038484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study, which was designed on a qualitative basis, was carried out with 31 preschool teachers determined with the purposeful sampling method. The data were collected via the interview form applied to the teachers who constituted the aforementioned study group. For the analysis of the data, content analysis was applied. For the analyses, the teachers’ views were gathered under certain headings and coded. In the coding made by using the frequency technique, which is the complement of the qualitative data, the coding technique was used in accordance with the concepts obtained from the data. By combining these codes, certain themes were created. Next, the themes were described and interpreted with tables for easy understanding and explanation in line with the purpose of the study, and conclusions were drawn accordingly. On the other hand, it was thought that in the study, the technological addiction in question might be caused by the unconscious and misuse of these technologies rather than by the educational technologies used extensively during the pandemic process. The teachers constituting the study group predicted that human dimensions such as psychological and personality dimensions, self-care skills, and behavioral problems would come to the fore in relation to the pre-school curriculum in the post-pandemic period.","PeriodicalId":30788,"journal":{"name":"Dinamika Ilmu","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46443474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It must be admitted that before the fourteenth century, there were no views on the confrontation of or separation of the realm of science and religion. Although after the nineteenth century, the advent of modernist discourse in the Islamic world's cultural, social, and political programs and methods set the grounds for a dialectic path on the connection between religion and science. In this regard, Muslim thinkers have given distinct responses to Western modernization, such as agreeing, rejecting, or transforming this claim according to Islamic attitudes. This article seeks to conduct a theoretical interpretation and investigation of the foundations and arguments of two Muslim thinkers, Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and Pervez Amirali Hoodbhoy with “functionalism” and “symbolism” approaches to science. These two thinkers have paid special attention to religion, science, and modern technology, while they have different fundamental views on the relationship between science and religion.","PeriodicalId":30788,"journal":{"name":"Dinamika Ilmu","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49017853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The participants of the research are 364 teacher candidates studying at the faculty of education of a public university in three programs; science education, elementary mathematics education, computer education, and instructional technology. Convenience sampling was applied and a relational screening model from descriptive research design was used. \"Nature of Science Beliefs Scale\" developed by Özcan and Turgut (2014) was used as a data collection tool. Subsequently, data analysis was conducted through SPSS statistical software by applying independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA analysis. According to the results of the study, teacher candidates' nature of science beliefs was found on the undecided level. Additionally, female teacher candidates have a higher level than male teacher candidates related to the nature of science beliefs dimensions of tentativeness, observation and inference, scientific method/methods, assumptions and boundaries, socio-cultural embeddedness, and theories and laws, and it was found that this difference was statistically significant. In terms of program variables, only a difference was found in the dimension of scientific method/methods in favor of science teacher candidates. Finally, there was a statistically significant difference in the dimensions of tentativeness and theories and laws in terms of a class-level variable. However, research that highlights the efforts and processes of harmonisation between groups is still very limited to study, especially with regard to educational settings. By providing a different perspective on the discussion of most scholars, this article photographs the success of mudir (leader of Islamic educational institutions) in maintaining the existence of modern pesantren amid in-group favouritism biased traditional Islamic society in Lhoksukon, Aceh, Indonesia. By using a case-study approach, this study traced and collected data through in-depth interviews with several informants such as mudir, pesantren teachers, Imum Chik (religious leaders), and residents around Dayah Terpadu Al-Muslimun Lhoksukon, Aceh, Indonesia. The results of this study show that the conformity initiated by mudir, especially in symbols owned by the surrounding community, is able to reduce conflict between groups. In addition, mudir also involves figures with religious authority to be catalysts for harmony. The study also argues that intergroup biases in religious segmentation can be minimised by re-evaluating to find similarities in social identities between groups.","PeriodicalId":30788,"journal":{"name":"Dinamika Ilmu","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47508581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
