Vera Ivanovna was a candidate of biological sciences, assistant (1945–1953) and afterwards associate professor (1953–1960) of plant morphology and systematics chair in the state university of Gorky. From 1961 to 1971 she has been a head of the department of biological research at the Chemistry research institute in state university of Gorky and head of laboratory “Gorky reservoir” (laboratory of hydrobiology afterwards), secretary of department of Moscow society of nature testers in Gorky city (1945–1953), chairman of department of all union hydrobiological society in Gorky city (1965–1970) and its honorary member. Vera Ivanovna is a well-known Russian algologist, she has made a great contribution to the study of algae in the Nizhny Novgorod Volga region: large rivers such as Volga, Oka, Gorky and Cheboksary reservoirs, small rivers of the region, and reservoirs of the Pustynsky reserve. Vera Ivanovna is the author of more than 30 scientific works.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128575854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Algae reaction was different for the introduction of D. polymorpha in 2014 and 2017. There was no influence of zebra mussels on the phytoplankton total abundance; however, it changed the biomass of individual taxa. Cyanoprokaryota reaction as a result the zebra mussels introduction was influenced by the initial phytoplankton structure and initial nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in water. The biomass of Сyanoprokaryotа decreased at low N:P ratios and increased at high N:P ratios. Dreissena increased the biomass of large green filamentous algae, which is a poor food resource for zooplankton.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129624591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The following habitats were studied: sublittoral, littoral, as well as semi-enclosed coastal water bodies. In the entire set of communities, a total of 180 species and subspecies (IST) of diatoms were noted. The local α-diversity of communities in the sublittoral was 6–26 species and IST (on average – 14.8), and for coastal locations, including the littoral – 12–51 species and IST (on average – 33). The floristic groups and coenotic groups of diatoms have been identified for sublittoral and coastal habitats. Significant differences were noted both among coastal taxocenes (average similarity of 23.41% in species composition and 9.78% in structure) and among sublittoral communities (19.51% and 34.54%, respectively). The entire spectrum of the noted on permanent slides species are photodocumented.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126344237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
