It is said that BI solutions support in deciding in different types of areas, especially in personnel management, which have to consider the analysis of human talent, skills acquired, and the necessary budget to provide a new specialty referring to the work that will be perform. The method of the purpose is the integration of the financial, personnel management, organization chart and finally the organizational culture components. In the last component there are important factors to enhance the human talent of the organization, which are the values, awareness and work climate perceived by each person. The experiment was conducted with surveys of twenty managers to measure their level of satisfaction in aspects of management, design, and efficiency in deciding. The results in general were high satisfaction of the users in the experience they had with the BI solution by three different types of reports developed with support of the Microsoft Power BI tool.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"143 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132170247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel hierarchical two-loop architecture is proposed to solve the positioning and path-following control problem. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation in a virtual environment for linear and nonlinear trajectories, where the quadrotor must attain and follow the desired trajectory with smooth, continuous and bounded control input values.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132602802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This situation becomes more complicated in the field of special education due to the lack of resources and/or government support plans. On this basis, in this paper, we present an intelligent platform to support the design and the development of low-cost robotic assistants and assistive technologies to carry out educational inclusion processes with children with disabilities. The system relies on a web-based environment, a rule-based module (for decision support), and can generate skeleton projects for Arduino and Raspberry platforms. To validate our proposal, we have carried out a plan consisting of two stages. In the first one, we conducted several laboratory tests to determine the platform’s performance. In the second stage, we have measured the perceptions about the platform. To this aim, 38 volunteers (students and engineers of electronic and computer science careers) have tested all the functionalities of the platform.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132759865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to that, there are two approaches to solve this problem: analog or digital filtering. This second approach is usually the most taken, since very good precision can be achieved with mathematical operations performed by processors. However, depending on the application, the least energy consumption, time response or resources used are desirable. So, this paper presents the analysis of the well known Moving Average digital filter on an 8-bit AVR architecture microcontroller, because it is an interesting option as a result of its limited resources and its most likely probability of consuming less energy.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115731690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Likewise, the number of people with such impairment increased from 42 million in 1985 to about 360 million in 2011. However, the most of multimedia and web contents, whether they are educational or leisure, are not accessible for persons with hearing loss. In this line, this paper presents an interactive system aimed at automatically generating video summaries and performing subtitles synchronization for persons with hearing loss. Our proposal relies on an educational platform (MOODLE) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to provide an environment fully configurable for these persons. The module that generates the video summaries uses techniques such as Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), whereas the synchronization module is based on forced alignment between audio streams and text. With the aim of validating our environment, we have tested our approach on 15 videos, obtaining a score of 80% for three criteria related to the summary content: understandability, concordance, and context appropriateness.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124121343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An important part of 3D printing is to provide printable material to the printer each time when needed, which is basically done with the inclusion of plastic filament reels of which the most common is the PLA, however, this is a final product that is marketed separately. In that situation arises the alternative to be able to recycle and reuse plastic material through disposable bottles that are normally discarded so that they can be used as printable material. In this sense, the present work shows the design of a 3D printer with equipment to supply the filament of different kinds of plastics for the printing. The objective of this project is to be able to integrate the supplying system of plastic material to the printer by supplying recycled plastic bottles that go through a whole process, and thus make the printer work with the supply as a single unit. This project is pretended to raise awareness in the recycling of materials such as plastic to avoid pollution, and by this, the famous three ecological R’s that is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle can be put into practice.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120955290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The program application has a MATLAB graphical user interface (GUI) and is equipped with a minimax algorithm. The AI has proven to be successful against the average student at the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC) in a game of checkers. The importance of this project resides in providing the first steps at research and implementation of artificial intelligence that could be used in applications such as robotics in manufacturing and project planning. The project accomplished the objectives of creating an AI GUI that could play checkers against UTEC students. As was expected, success of the AI depended on the depth of the minimax tree. The AI struggled against UTEC students while using tree depths of three and four levels; however, the AI proved successful against UTEC students at tree depths of five and six. The optimal level chosen for the checkers AI eventually was five levels of depth because for six or more levels, the time of minimax evaluation delayed too much for fluid human game play.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117182231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we analyse the health system level in Peru by applying the entropy-weight method, which is a approach based on Shannon’s entropy theory; in order to obtain a ranking that indicates the level of health system by departments. The entropy-weight method was applied to calculate the weights of the criteria; and then, the departments studied were classified according to the results of a weighted sum. The selection criteria established in this study were the number of hospitals (C1), specialized health institutes (C2), health centres (C3), health posts (C4), inhabitants per doctor (C5), and the population of each department (C6). This method has an advantage, since different criteria can be used, whether they are direct or indirect, regarding to the object of study. The results of this study, which are presented by an informative map, could contribute to make the best decision, in order to improve the health system, in favour of the population.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126685375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
