Se observan ademas las implicaciones del trabajo de las mujeres en la agro-biodiversidad y en la alimentacion de sus familias, asi como la valoracion subjetiva sobre su participacion. Los resultados muestran principalmente dos espacios de produccion agricola en las fincas familiares de los entrevistados: el aja o huerta para autoconsumo y los cultivos de comercializacion. Esta caracterizacion se hace en funcion del rol que las mujeres cumplen en cada espacio y de la carga de trabajo que tienen en el proceso productivo. Ademas, se presentan algunos extractos de entrevistas de varios actores locales y comunitarios que contextualizan las condiciones desiguales y de sobre-explotacion sobre las cuales se desarrolla el trabajo femenino. Este analisis revela que, aunque invisible, el trabajo de las mujeres es central en una economia agricola de mercado en desarrollo en estos ecosistemas ecologicamente sensibles. EnglishThis article analyzes the situation of female work among the households in Miazi and Shaime, two Shuar communities in the Southern Ecuadorian Amazon, in a context of colonization and recent local market opening. The implication of women’s work in terms of agro-biodiversity and their family diet are also observed, as well as the subjective assessment of their participation. Findings depict mainly two spaces of agricultural production in the interviewees’ household farms: the aja or garden for self-consumption and the market crops. This characterization is based on the role that women fulfill in each space and the workload they have in the production process. In addition, some excerpts from interviews to various local and community actors are presented; they contextualize the uneven conditions and over-exploitation on which women’s work develops. This analysis reveals that, although invisible, women’s work is central to a developing agricultural market economy in these ecologically sensitive ecosystems.","PeriodicalId":30443,"journal":{"name":"Espacio y Desarrollo","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41589760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Con mayor enfasis, se examina la percepcion ambiental de la poblacion local en relacion con los impactos ambientales de la mineria aurifera y la disposicion a adoptar medidas de reduccion de impactos ambientales. El caso de estudio es la microcuenca Huacamayo, una de las principales zonas mineras de la region Madre de Dios, la cual mostro un acelerado proceso de expansion de esta actividad entre los anos 2007 y 2009. Los resultados muestran que los principales factores que intervienen en la percepcion de los impactos ambientales son la posibilidad de observacion directa del impacto, la capacidad de comprension de las causas y procesos que intervienen, y la disponibilidad de informacion. La debil apreciacion del bosque y de los servicios que ofrece, sumada a la predominancia de la logica extractivista, han facilitado las practicas que degradan el ambiente de la microcuenca Huacamayo. En este contexto, la mayor parte de la poblacion identifica los principales impactos de la actividad minera y manifiesta su disposicion a adoptar medidas para reducirlos. Se deberia aprovechar esta disposicion de la poblacion mediante la orientacion tecnica, los incentivos y los instrumentos de control. Asimismo, es importante promover la revaloracion de los servicios ecosistemicos. EnglishThe potential of an environment-friendly small-scale gold mining is discussed, which can become an inclusive development strategy in the Madre de Dios region. The study focuses on the perception of the local population of the environmental impacts of gold mining and the willingness to adopt measures to reduce those impacts. The case study is the Huacamayo small watershed, one of the main mining areas of the Madre de Dios region, which showed an accelerated process of expansion of this activity between 2007 and 2009. The results show that the main factors involved in the perception of environmental impacts are: the possibility of direct observation of the impact, the ability to understand the causes and processes involved and the availability of information. The weak appreciation of the forest and the services it offers, together with the predominance of an extractivist logic, have facilitated practices that degrade the environment. The majority of the population identifies the main impacts of mining activity and expresses its willingness to adopt measures to reduce them. The disposition of the population should be considered to improve the mining processes through technical guidance, incentives or control mechanisms. Likewise, it is important to promote the appreciation of ecosystem services.","PeriodicalId":30443,"journal":{"name":"Espacio y Desarrollo","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47611968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such is the context of this study. Specifically, we will study the sector of San Carlos in the city of Huancayo, Peru, which shows high consolidation and great urban dynamism. The purpose of this study is to present practical methods of micro-simulation that can effectively project possible scenarios inside urban environment under conditions of data scarcity. The model incorporates binary and multinominal functions. It uses a simple programmed agent with purpose rules used to adjust the projections. A data reference framework is established, supported by mixed methods of data collection such as satellite images, direct observation, use of open digital records and expert’s judgement. A diversity of software tools was used in the projection process, like ArcGIS, SPSS, MS Excel and programmed scripts. The results show a distinctive development of the sector of San Carlos with important changes in the settings of single family houses that favor the emergence of low density multi-family houses. At the same time the sector experiences an increase of buildings for economic and service uses. A trend in vertical urban growth and a free area reduction are clearly identified. The procedures of the study are clear and encourage the use of technological tools to support the collection of data, with the purpose of developing better urban plans. This study also shows that there is a need to have more research done in this area.","PeriodicalId":30443,"journal":{"name":"Espacio y Desarrollo","volume":"1 1","pages":"99-124"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49058953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a broad sense, the growth of this kind of services is a constant challenge; its improvement reflects the progress in the quality of life. It is also an important factor to explain development. In the first place, we will determine and compare rates of the coverage of basic services from 2001 to 2010. In order to do so, we will analyse the coverage variation of that period taking into account housing increment. In the third place, we will examine changes considering population size—cohorts—and the regional belonging of the municipalities, seeking to understand the related factors to coverage variation along the aforementioned period, Regarding the methodological approach, we will combine different relevant rates of the provision of basic home services for urban life. Our information sources are the Censos Nacionales de Poblacion, Hogares y Viviendas de Argentina (INDEC, 2001) (INDEC , 2010), and also statistics of the Instituto Provincial de Estadisticas y Censos de la Provincia de Santa Fe -Argentina- (IPEC, 2017). The achievements gave us the opportunity to appreciate the quantitative change process of the coverage of basic services in the area between the years 2001 and 2010. We have detected non-causal connections between the coverage of basic services and municipalities’ demographic size with its location in the province.","PeriodicalId":30443,"journal":{"name":"Espacio y Desarrollo","volume":"1 1","pages":"55-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41380472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper explains why this regulation —whose title and orientation focuses on solid waste— is relevant and applicable to liquid oils, as well as the concept of prioritized goods, their regimen and how the law’s principles are related to WCO. The situation of WCO is reviewed for each of the policies contained in the regulations. The traditional life cycle for WCO is presented, as well as the new life cycle approach under circular economy. The possibility of utilizing WCO in the production of biodiesel is presented in order to give value to the first, under the Principle of valorization of waste. The responsible actors and partners are identified under the principles of Extended Producer Responsibility (REP) and Shared Responsibility. The eco-toxic and toxic effects that WCO represent, when inadequately managed, are identified, under the principle of Protection of the Environment and Public Health. In the broader development of the REP, this work emphasizes the role of responsible actors and demonstrates that WCO meets the criteria to be considered within the special regime for prioritized goods.","PeriodicalId":30443,"journal":{"name":"Espacio y Desarrollo","volume":"1 1","pages":"125-136"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48416977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
