They are related to Z4-linear codes, and are used in CDMA communications. We consider periodic correlation and obtain algebraic expressions of the first two partial period correlation moments of these sequences. These correlation moments have applications in synchronisation performance of CDMA systems using Galois ring m-sequences.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123110953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the receiver of the new system, oversampling and the maximum likelihood sequence detection(MLSD) is used. Under the same spectral efficiency, the bit error rate performance of the new system is compared with that of high-order modulated symbol-by-symbol transmission. It is concluded that the new system utilizing MLSD detector could make full use of the inherent anti-jamming capability of the system and outperform the non-ISI symbol-by-symbol system. The optimal soft-in soft-out ISI detection joined with the decoding is proposed for the channel coded ISI system. Under the maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) criterion, the soft information is passed iteratively between the detector and the decoder. Simulation results show that the optimal performance is obtained because of the encoding constraining naturally formed by ISI.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124838837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the code-length of the traditional fountain codes is quite large that holds back the data fountain scheme from efficiently supporting real-time services and resource restricted applications. This paper focuses on the designing of short-length fountain codes. Since the degree distribution of the input symbols plays an important role in achieving good decoding performance, a novel designing method for degree distribution is proposed. Simulation results show that by this method practicable short-length codes can be constructed, e.g., a code of length of 2000 achieving complete decoding with probability of 99.5% is demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125159413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper focus on OVTDM, and this new technique can implement transmission with super-high spectral efficiency only by low order modulated signals , and its feature is that there is overlapping between neighbor signals in time domain, which is used to raise the spectral efficiency of the system and generate the coding constraint relationship, thus improving transmission reliability. The theory of OVFDM and OVTFDM is similar to it. Simulation results verify the validity of this theory in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and multipath fading channel.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125391057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The novel structure mainly consists of a fast Walsh transform (FWT) and an inverse fast Walsh transform (IFWT), both of which can be implemented only by addition and subtraction .Since the transform kernel of the FWT and the IFWT are the same, the implementation complexity of the proposed DDC is significantly reduced. Performances illustrative are compared with those of other DDCs, which include convolution operation. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms others and is more suited for real time signal processing of software digital down conversion in digital signal processor (DSP).","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123419222","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new scheme achieves full diversity full rate. And it also can achieve linear decoding at receiver, so the decoding complexity at receiver is greatly reduced. Because the scheme can achieve full diversity, good performance can be obtained not only at low signal to noise ratio (SNR) but also at high SNR. To improve the code rate further, we proposed a space-time spreading code. The space-time spreading code can achieve higher code rate without performance loss.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132056250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
