In this paper, for such a sequence, we present a criterion on the decimation such that the crosscorrelation between its decimation and its adjoint sequence is independent of all the powers. Since a binary GMW or cascaded GMW sequence is the same as its adjoint sequence, the crosscorrelation of the sequence and its decimations can be determined from known results on m-sequences by the criterion. Furthermore, we discuss the 3-valued and 4-valued correlation functions of cascaded GMW sequences.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130182776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the estimated SNRs of the subchannels, the cross-correlation data between adjacent OFDM symbols on the sub-channels with high quality transmissions are selected, and hard decided. The hard decisions and data on the pilot tones are used to estimate the residual frequency offset on the corresponding sub-channels respectively. Each of the estimated RCFOs is weighted by the SNR on the corresponding subchannel and combined to improve the RCFO estimation performance. The simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme achieves much better performance than the available PTA schemes.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132713104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been shown that both the information transmission rate and the frequency usage rate can be increased by these kinds of CDMA systems. However, there are two big problems, that is, the small cell capacity and the large signal power. In this paper, we consider another communication system based on complete complementary codes, which is called the convoluted-time and code division multiple access (CT-CDMA) system. We give both the merits and the shortcomings of this method, and discuss the way to apply this system into some actual communication applications.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125053579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But few 3G telecom operators could claim profitable from the current services provided by 3G networks. The real issues hit the 3G flying are spectrum efficiency, uplink bandwidth and overall cost with CDMA based technology. This presentation, based on SCDMA, TD-SCDMA, and McWill deploying experiences in the last ten years in China, proposes new criteria for 4G wireless communication systems. Under the proposed criteria, what are missing in current wireless communication theory is addressed. In order to increase the spectrum efficiency and uplink bandwidth in a 4G system, the presentation gives a way to optimally consider frequency, time, spatial, and coding domains issues altogether. Most importantly, the presentation points out new foundation based on multi-user information theory for wireless communications, which might be one of many means that can effectively increase spectrum utilization. Uplink bandwidth is a bottleneck for many wireless communication systems. Traditionally, in order to get higher bandwidth efficiency, a higher order or multi-level modulation (such as QAM 64) should be normally adopted, which requires high output power in subscriber terminal side. This talk shows an alternative way to handle high bit/symbol rate modulation without high multi-level output power.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116238288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
