Modeling and performance analysis of self-similar traffic have become an investigating hot topic in computer network. However, most of the studies have been focused on the estimation and influence of Hurst index, and ignored the other factors. In fact, some other factors have also important influence on network performance. In this paper, we make a thorough investigation on the influence factors to the network performance of self-similar traffic. Based on the buffer overflow probability derived by Norros, we firstly derive the formulas of average queuing length, queuing length variance, average delay, jitter and effective bandwidth. Then the influence of Hurst index, average arrival rate and variance coefficient of the traffic, along with the buffer size, utilization and the effective bandwidth of the system on the performances of self-similar traffic are investigated by means of simulation. The results reveal that all these factors have great influence on performance of the self-similar traffic and there is evidently time scale effect among them. Finally, the critical time scale is derived.","PeriodicalId":303484,"journal":{"name":"2009 4th International Conference on Computer Science & Education","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122222587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose a unified approach of program derivation and generation for the two classes of algorithms. We first define a generalized specification for the search strategies, and then derive the algorithms, abstract programs and generic programs by incremental refinements on PAR platform, and finally generate efficient programs for concrete problem-solving via colimit computations. Our approach achieves a high level of abstraction and mechanization without losing performance.","PeriodicalId":303484,"journal":{"name":"2009 4th International Conference on Computer Science & Education","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126656117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While mining gene information, one of the tasks is to estimate the missing values reasonably and effectively, so as to reflect the original information of gene sequence. The traditional, previously function-setting evaluation methods and prediction methods have appeared their limitations. The BP neural network, with the nonlinear dynamic characteristics, eliminated the drift value brought about by man-made factors during the weight determination using the previous method. It is a promising natural safe-forecasting method. First, obtain the network weight parameters meets the convergence conditions through studying the known samples. Then using them as foundation to calculate mine forecast indicator system parameters, made safety prediction of forecast mines. The error between BP calculated predictive value and the actual value range from 2.22 to 5.54 percent, which showed that the training model is more accurate and reliable to forecast. The study contents have important guiding significance to mine safety management and scientific decision-making.","PeriodicalId":303484,"journal":{"name":"2009 4th International Conference on Computer Science & Education","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116141588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the consideration of the features of Web services, an adaptive fault-tolerant mechanism is presented. It is based on a two-aspect context model including functional context and network context. Based on the context model, the paper designs an adaptive fault-tolerant framework for Web services, which involves in a series of fault-tolerant technologies, including construction of a layered failure detection system, dynamically adjustable failure detection, and an adaptive service restarting process. However, owing to the existence of numerous communication participants from diverse organizations under an anonymous communication mechanism, the semantic heterogeneous issue in event-matching is fundamental. It affects the accuracy and comprehensiveness of event matching. But most existing content-based Pub/Sub systems are unable to support semantic. Therefore, in order to eliminate semantic heterogeneity happened on event matching, ontology is introduced in this paper. And considering the support of current content-based Pub/Sub systems infrastructure, we firstly put forward an approach to convert the original content-based data model to a new concept-based data model applying multidimensional-index(X tree) on a high level shared ontology library, and then raise relevant event-matching arithmetic using the cover of subscriptions information and matching order to accelerate the speed of matching. The experiment demonstrates that the arithmetic can be able to tackle the issue to some extent, meanwhile, increase the efficiency of event matching.","PeriodicalId":303484,"journal":{"name":"2009 4th International Conference on Computer Science & Education","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121210167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
