In recent decades, linguistics has seen a significant increase in interest in the study of special vocabulary. When preparing military translators, the task is to teach special vocabulary as part of the military sublanguage. This article is devoted to the consideration of the issue concerning the features of the formation of military terminology. Accuracy in the translation of military terminology is of paramount importance, since strategic decisions depend on it, the error in the adoption of which can be fatal. Knowledge of military terminology is the main component of training a military translator, which is reflected in the qualification requirements for training specialists in the field of \"Linguistic support of military activities\" and the corresponding professional competencies. Consideration of the features of the formation of military terminology in Italian and French from the point of view of an analytical comparison of methods of education in closely related languages is aimed at identifying both general trends and specific features due to cultural, historical and intra-linguistic reasons. Results. As the practice of training translators at the Military Training Center of Voronezh State University in 2008 - 2020 shows, training in the military language and special military terminology is at the heart of the training methodology for military translators. The search for solutions and methodology for the semantization of military vocabulary is designed to facilitate its assimilation and adequate translation. Since the development of military affairs in all countries is more or less the same, then military terminology is largely unified in different languages. An analysis of the methods of forming the military terminology of the Italian and French languages revealed their general properties and methods that do not depend on the language, as well as specific national features that are reflected in the military vocabulary. This study is based on official military-related materials issued by the Ministry of Defense of the French Republic, which are used in military translation classes, as well as materials from the Italian Ministry of Defense, electronic media related to military cooperation and international security. Conclusion. Summing up, it can be argued that overcoming difficulties in the assimilation and translation of military terminology can be achieved through regular practice and exercises developed in the form of a methodological guide - a logical continuation of this study. Professional military translation is impossible without mastering special vocabulary. The development of military terminology can take place, among other things, by studying the features of its education in different languages. The common characteristic features of the formation of military terminology in Italian and French are the original lexical fund, the frequent use of various abbreviations and a small number of foreign borrowings","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131770629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article describes the mechanism for creating a new typology of English spatial adverbs. Existing approaches to the classification of English adverbs have been thoroughly examined, their peculiarities have been analyzed. The study proves the fact that the traditional classifications and typologies of adverbs do not take into account the phenomenon of the polysemy of words. In this paper a new classification approach is proposed. This approach takes into account the polysemantics of linguistic units. The creation of such a typology becomes possible through the use of the comparative-parametric method of linguistic research. Results. It is established that apart from spatial meanings English spatial adverbs also develop temporary, quantitative and qualitative semes. The use of the comparative-parametric method and some formalized parameters, indices and scales allowed to identify the degree of space, time, quantity and quality semes representation in the semanthemes of the adverbs under investigation and on this basis to distinguish eighteen semantic types of English adverbs. Conclusion. The study showed the possibility of using the comparative-parametric method to develop such a semantic typology of adverbs that takes into account the polysemy of linguistic units. The effectiveness of the application of this method for studying the semantics of words, suggests the possibility of studying not only adverbs, but also other parts of speech. Moreover, the comparative-parametric method can be used for creation of other new semantic classifications.","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115326631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article describes taxis representatives in German and Dutch, which are polypropositive statements with prepositional deverbatives with taxis prepositions of temporal and circumstantial semantics. Results. The statements of two types (primary and secondary) are described, which are the core and peripheral constituents of the functional-semantic subfield of the dependent taxis in the German and Dutch languages. The core constituents include statements of the primary type with taxis prepositions of temporal semantics, while the peripheral constituents should include statements of the secondary type with taxis prepositions of circumstantial semantics. Taxis prepositions of temporal semantics mark the primary taxis semantics of simultaneity and non-simultaneity, and taxis prepositions of circumstantial semantics explicate the secondary taxis semantics of simultaneity. Conclusion. The examined statements of the primary type and of the secondary type are prototypical representatives of both primary-taxis values of simultaneity and non-simultaneity in «pure form», and secondary taxis values of simultaneity, combined with concomitant circumstantial values (conditions, concessions, purpose, mode of action, etc.).","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117202121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, \"digital media\" is not just a term in everyday life, it is a common phenomenon. In connection with the emerging problem of combating coronavirus, there is a need to formulate new requirements for the educational design of higher education and/or make appropriate changes to them. Digital technologies provide the potential, on the one hand, to provide new ways of learning and support learning processes, and on the other hand, to prepare students for life and work in a \"digitized\" world. Consequently, teachers also need new competency profiles in order to reflect and use digital opportunities and digital tools in a timely manner. The article analyzes the information openness of universities in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of education. The organization of the educational activities of universities and the ensuring of the access of students and research and teaching staff to the information and educational resources are considered. The stages of developing the digital learning blocks within the framework of the university training courses are defined. The results of the research. Using the example of teaching the German language at a technical university, the functional strategies have been studied when planning and conducting distance and classroom classes. Conclusions obtained. When planning the classes it is necessary to consistently divide the individual competencies into distance and classroom lessons. Here, the starting point is a model in which students switch themselves between the distance and classroom studies in longer phases, such as weekly lessons.","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130088952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper focuses on evaluative aspects of bishop Vissarion (Nechaev’s) preachings. The author of the paper aims at revealing the methods and ways of influencing the recipient of the preachings by bishop Vassarion. The evaluative functions of Bishop Vissarion’s preaching have never been analyzed in detail in linguistic literature Results. Bishop Vissarion (Nechaev) uses a variety of evaluative language means (evaluative nouns, adverbs, verbs, collocations, adjectives) to influence the reader in terms of forming his or her moral and ethical worldview. The author of the preachings uses common evaluative means (good, badetc.) as well as specific evaluative language means (ethical (moral, kind), aesthectical (beautiful), psychological etc. All these evaluative meanings enable the preacher to reflect his opinion on various aspects of human life. Moreover, the preacher aims at attracting his listeners’ and readers’ attention towards various crucial phenomena of human mental and physical activities and constructing Christian attitude towards them. The preacher uses appraisal and negative evaluation to highlight his views. The extent to which he uses specific and common evaluative means depends on the topics of his preaching. It is worth mentioning that bishop Vissarion uses various epigraphs (fragments from New Testament, epistles of the apostles etc.) which contain evaluative meanings. The latter serve as a starting point for the preacher when he is developing his ruminations and judgements. Conclusion. Bishop Vissarion’s preachings are focusing on crucial aspects of life of a Orthodox Church Christians. It is the evaluative means that provide the preacher with all the instruments for developing and forming Christian worldview in his listeners and readers. He warns them against various harmful mental and physical activities with the help of negative evaluative language means as well as encourages them to opt for goodness with the help of appraisal. The preacher has developed a unique metalanguage that combines philological explanations of the most important words in his preachings with their theological meanings. This approach enables the preacher to express himself to the full extent and to reveal for the reader all the implicit meanings that the evaluative words in his preaching contain.","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124727720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article is devoted to the linguistic and linguistic-and-literary analysis of the short story «Dark alleys» by I.A. Bunin aiming at mastering the methods of such type of analysis of an art work. The article aims to consider the linguistic structure of the story in terms of vocabulary, translation, word formation, morphology and onomastics. Special attention is paid to the linguistic basis and lexical base of this story. Results. This paper highlights and describes the features of outdated, non-equivalent, borrowed and calque words, which are used to express the historical space of the story «Dark alleys» by I.A. Bunin. The author's means of information coding concerning important historical events are analyzed. It is found out by what language means the author expresses the ideological and emotional sides of his story and linguistically significant information about the language units used to reflect the real character in the story is revealed. Conclusion. Analyzing the short story of I.A. Bunin, we came to the conclusion that the onomastic material of the story plays a specific role: the name of the main character was chosen by the author in honor of the Russian officer — Nikolai Alekseevich Kireev, and the name of Job in parallel to the \"unhappiness\" of the author for his whim. As a result, we prove that the text of the story cannot be covered with any quick reading. This story was written using the tools of different language sections: vocabulary, word formation, morphology and onomastics. The story should be read carefully, because placing it in the collection «Dark alleys», the author thus emphasizes that he describes not only love, but also history, and not one, but two at once.","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125759512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the article is to establish the dynamics of the content of the basic concept Sicherheit (safety) in German linguistic culture. As the main research methods, the authors turn to the analysis of definitions of explanatory dictionaries, the analysis of the compatibility of the studied word, context analysis, free associative experiment. On the basis of the developed model of meaning, the authors compare the lexicographic data and the associative field of the stimulus word Sicherheit (safety). Results. Based on the comparison of the obtained data, the authors note that the integrative features identified in the compatibility of lexemes and the features identified in the associative experiment largely coincide (‘sources of security’, ‘safe situation in the world / national security’, ‘comfort, stability’, ‘personal emotional concepts’, ‘object of protection’, although they are different in quantitative meaning. At the same time, we note that the compatibility of the lexeme allows us to speak of mistrust of the possibility of a stable and safe situation as a whole. However, the data of the free associative experiment, on the contrary, allow us to speak about an extremely positive attitude to the concept under study. According to the corpus, the most common category is the category of confidence, which is represented in the associative experiment by a single reaction. The largest number of reactions in the associative experiment represent Sicherheit as a feeling of protection from various types of danger. Conclusion. For representatives of the German linguistic culture, the concept of Sicherheit(safety) is understood as a sense of security from danger, which can be guaranteed to an individual by the family or government authorities. Money is the guarantor of security. To achieve safety, it is necessary to comply with various safety rules and measures.","PeriodicalId":303001,"journal":{"name":"Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130631735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
