An inverse kinematic analysis addresses the problem of computing the sequence of joint motion from the Cartesian motion of an interested member, most often the end effector. Traditional methods such as geometric, iterative and algebraic are inadequate if the joint structure of the manipulator is more complex. In addition, periodic characteristic of trigonometric resulted non-convexity of IKM. As alternative approaches, neural networks have been widely used for inverse kinematics modeling and control in robotics. The idea is to build a network that learned all the trajectory path of a model in different setting. Computer simulations conducted on 3DOF robot manipulator shows the effectiveness of the approach.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115660033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The histone modifications often act in combinations, which exert different effects on gene expression. Although a number of experimental techniques and data analysis methods have been developed to study histone modifications, it is still very difficult to identify the relationships among histone modifications on a genome-wide scale. We proposed a method to identify the combinatorial effects of histone modifications by association rule mining. The method first identified Functional Modification Transactions (FMTs) and then employed association rule mining algorithm and statistics methods to identify histone modification patterns. Our method succeeds in revealing two different global views of histone modification landscapes on two distinct datasets and identifying a number of modification patterns some of which are supported by previous studies. We concentrate on combinatorial effects of histone modifications which significantly affect gene expression. Our method succeeds in identifying known interactions among histone modifications and uncovering many previously unknown patterns. Our results also demonstrate several histone modification patterns which show significant correspondence between yeast and human cells.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115886833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On one hand, this modeling framework represents the structural and dynamical aspects of real ecosystems in a discrete, modular and compressive way. On the other hand, the inherent randomness and uncertainty of biological systems are captured by using probabilistic strategies. Nowadays, the simulation of these P systems based models is fundamental for experimentation and validation. In this paper, we introduce a new simulation algorithm, called DNDP, which performs object distribution and maximal consistency in the application of rules, that are crucial aspects of these systems. The paper also depicts a parallel implementation of the algorithm, and a comparison with the existing algorithm in PLinguaCore is provided. In order to test the performance of the presented algorithm, several experiments (simulations) have been carried out over four simple P systems with the same skeleton and different number of environments.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124223411","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, the problem under study is proposed with the objective functions of line idle rate, workload smoothness and disassembly cost. Subsequently, the multi-objective optimization mathematical model of disassembly line balancing is formulated based on the proposed functions of the three objectives. Then, combining characteristics of disassembly line balancing problem, an improved multi-objective ant colony algorithm based on Pareto set is developed to optimize the optimization model. Finally, a practical case is provided to illustrate the proposed model and algorithm.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115018937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the Walsh transform low frequency wavelet coefficients, calculated by block adaptive embedding strength, modify the wavelet coefficients of each block, and then do singular value decomposition (SVD), repeat on embedded watermark in the singular value. Fractional part of the anti-transformed image is saved, correction of the watermarked image can be accurately extracted watermark. A new soft sensor approach based on the mill shell vibration signal is proposed in this paper. As the frequency domain signal contains more evidently information than time domain, the power spectral density (PSD) of the vibration signal was obtained via fast Fourier transform (FFT). And then the mass and the central frequency of the small peaks of the spectrum are extracted as the spectral features. At last the support vector machines (SVM) is used to build the soft model. The parameters of SVM, the input variables including the mass and the central frequency of the peaks are selected by Genetic algorithm (GA). Experimental results show that proposed soft sensor model has higher accuracy and better predictive performance than the other normal approaches.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"16 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116851685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm supports the following features: 1) transforming the Pareto relationship among individuals to the ranking relationship of the total value of indexes in divided space; 2) simple and efficient environment choosing method based on index ranking; 3) an individual crowding algorithm which rapidly chooses the nearest individual to the origin. Convergence analysis shows the convergence property of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results of the proposed algorithm OSD-MOEA are compared with NSGAII and PSFGA and high efficiency, low time complexity and good convergence are noticed.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123953463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is the key to study the landslide three-dimensional seepage under reservoir water fluctuation and rainfall for landslide stability evaluation, disasters prevention and reduction. We investigated the Lijiawan Landslide in the Three Gorges reservoir, Badong Country, Hubei Province, China. And propose a Topology intelligence method to calculate the Three dimensional seepage of the landslide. In order to calculate rapidly, we developed a computer program by Visual Basic, which combined the ANSYS, the Finite Element Analysis software, and FLAC3D, the Finite Difference Simulation software. And that achieved the Three-dimensional seepage fast calculation with the effect of reservoir water fluctuation and rainfall. The method avoids complex calculation of fluid-solid coupling in simulation. And the characters of the calculating seepage match to other landslide groundwater monitoring data and pre-existing research. That proves the Topology intelligence method can achieve the Three-dimensional seepage calculation of landslide. It will be utilized by the landslide assessment and deformation analysis in the Three Gorges reservoir area. There are several embedded applications which requires to solve online optimization problems with a high performance. However, the PSO suffers on large execution times, and this fact becomes evident when using Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) microprocessors in which the operational frequencies are low in comparison with the high operational frequencies of traditional personal computers (PCs). This paper compares two hardware implementations of the parallel PSO algorithm using an efficient floating-point arithmetic which perform computations with large dynamic range and high precision. The full-parallel and the partially-parallel PSO architectures allow the parallel capabilities of the PSO to be exploited in order to decrease the running time. Three well-known benchmark test functions have been used to validate the hardware architectures and a comparison in terms of cost in logic area, quality of the solution and performance is reported. In addition, a comparison of the execution time between the hardware and two C-code software implementations, based on a Intel Core Duo at 1.6GHz and a embedded Microblaze microprocessor at 50MHz, are presented.","PeriodicalId":302619,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127335679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
