The content and conclusions are based on the results of a sociological study conducted in Buryatia in 2023. The article analyzes the indicators characterizing the social well-being of the respondents: the level of social opti-mism, social security, satisfaction with living conditions, the rating of the most serious problems that cause con-cern. It has been established that despite the difficult situation in general within the country and in the world, the existing problems, residents of the republic demonstrate optimism in assessing their future, without feeling much concern for the safety of themselves and their families. At the same time, in the ranking of the main re-gional problems and aspects of life that cause the least satisfaction, the leaders are such as increasing prices for food and essential goods; medical care, its quality, payment; increasing tariffs for housing and communal services; pollution environment, environmental problems; availability of money. The sample is represented by students of 2–4 courses of a transport university in the amount of 85 people aged 18 to 24 years (average age 20 years), of which 48 people are in a relationship, 37 are not in a relationship. The results of the comparative analysis made it possible to indicate the differences between the indicators of subjective experience of loneliness, existential fulfillment and life satisfaction in students who are and are not in a relationship, as well as in students with a high and low level of subjective experience of loneliness. This topic is particularly relevant, since the predominant number of educational organizations in the region are located in rural areas. Methodological support for rural school teachers contributes to their professional development, which undoubtedly affects the quality of general educa-tion in the region. The article describes a study conducted by the authors aimed at identifying the readiness of rural teachers to form and develop functional literacy of schoolchildren. The results of the study revealed a con-tradiction between the high level of teachers’ understanding of the relevance of the task facing them and the insufficient level of formation of methodological competence in this area. Crea-tive activity contributes to improving the effectiveness of the educational process in primary school through the development of fine motor skills of the child, his imagination, spatial thinking. In addition, an art lesson is an important way of aesthetic education in elementary school. At the same time, it is important for the teacher to transform the pupil from an outside observer into an active participant of the creative process. The article identi-fies some practical problems that a teacher faces in the process of educating aesthetic abilities in the condi-tions of the modern educational situation. It is considered as a research field for exploring new ways of teaching children in a changing world. The aim of the article is to present approaches to the definition of the concept of alterna-tive education, to show its evolution from the late XX century to the modern stage. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific literature, in-depth interviews, and focus groups. It is emphasized that alternative education differs from public education by the style of interaction between the student and the teacher, the child and his environment. It assumes the subjectivity of the learner, individualization of the content of the educa-tional process, flexible training programs. Parents act as the main clients of education. Alternative educational projects lack a license. Unlike the late XX century, modern alternative practices are implemented not only by education specialists, but also by parents. It is legal and often features a synthesis of different methodologies, programs, and is supported by educational resources and digital tools, along with event-based educational formats.
