A secondary linguistic persona can be formed in the course of study in a Master of Engineering program, among other things, through reading profession-oriented precedent texts. We define profession-oriented precedent texts as the ones that possess special significance for the research or professional activity of a specialist, primarily authentic scientific articles. The purpose of this study was to analyze the lexical structure of professional precedent texts through the Vocabprofile resource. The analysis revealed the following categories: the first thousand most frequent English words (K1); the second most frequent thousand English words (K2), vocabulary found in the Academic Word List (K3), words not included in any of the previous categories, mainly terms and professional lexis (K4).The results of the analysis and the comparison with popular and instructional technical texts offered to the engineering undergraduates in the English-language course reveal a larger percentage and a wider and more diverse lexical repertoire of the Academic Word List for the precedent texts. The percentage of terms and professional lexis in both types of texts is approximately the same, which indicates the adequacy of the profession-oriented course of English taught to the undergraduates of the Bauman MSTU. The results also point to the importance of the Academic Word List when teaching reading of professional precedent texts in English.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126219547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The stochastic line of the school mathematics course for 10-11 grades is aimed at identifying general patterns, assessing the probabilistic nature of real-world dependences, defining phenomena of random nature, processing statistical data, constructing distributions of random variables, using the law of large numbers and probabilistic sampling method of measurement. The expediency of developing this elective course is due to the importance of knowledge of probability theory for both completing the Unified State Exam in Mathematics and preparing for university studies. The article argues that students who have mastered the methods of measuring and evaluating the phenomena associated with the concept of chance achieve high individual results. As part of the elective course and working in the digital environment, students learn how to use probabilistic and statistical methods to solve problems effectively, the focus of which is conditioned by the establishment of interdisciplinary links with biology, physics, chemistry, astronomy, etc. (for example, the study of Mendel's laws of heredity, Brownian motion (random motion of physical particles), Gibbs' rule, etc.). Skills and abilities obtained help students better understand variability and uncertainty inherent in social and natural processes, transfer their knowledge to new conditions and to new tasks, accumulate personal worldview experience. Thanks to this, high school students have a positive attitude towards a chance and its manifestations, perceive the surrounding reality more objectively. According to the results of the elective course implementation pupils have stable cognitive motives for the cognition of the stochastic component in the environment, deep subject knowledge, which conditions the development of motivational, value, cognitive and activity constructs of stochastic world-view.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"39 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131436429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The economy of the new information, communication and technological level makes special de-mands to the modern person. They must be a versatile personality who knows how to find neces-sary information, criticallyanalyze it, navigate well in the media space and know a foreign lan-guage. This article discusses the possibility of creating such a model for conducting English languageclasses which would contribute to the formation of media educational competencies in students of various fields of training that meet the requirements of the modern digital economy. The authors of the article suggest that this problem can be solved by using media education technologies during English classes. The authors analyze in detail the use of the original content of the TED Talks portal, which for 5 years (since 2016) has been usedat English language classes with students of non-linguistic specialties at Bunin Yelets State University. The authors are confident that this ap-proach allows students to more actively immerse themselves in the language environment, get better acquainted with cultural realities of the country of the target language and listen to mod-ern live English speech. The article describes the development of an integrative lesson for students of the depart-ment of journalism, where the media content of the TED Talks portal is used. It is concluded that modern education requires closer integration of a foreign language and media. This can be partly realized by the systematic use of the modern content of the TED Talks portal, which con-tributes not only to the development of language skills, but also teaches to critically analyze me-dia materials of various genres and create own communicative media product.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132813304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Of particular interest are studies of possible correlations between perfectionism and emotional burnout among representatives of various professional groups and students. The novelty of this work lies in the fact that the differences and relationships between the manifestations of emotional burnout, self-assessment of mental states and perfectionism among Chinese and Russian students are considered. The study involved 40 Russian and 40 Chinese undergraduate and graduate students. The following methods were used: 1) Multidimensional scale of perfectionism by P. Hewitt and G. Flett adapted by I. I. Gracheva; 2) The burnout questionnaire by K. Maslach, adapted by N.E. Vodopyanova; 3) Methodology for diagnosing self-assessment of mental states by G. Eysenck. All methods for Chinese respondents were translated into Chinese. As a result of applying comparative and correlation types of analysis, cross-cultural differences and relationships between indicators of perfectionism, self-assessment of the emotional state and characteristics of emotional burnout were revealed. Chinese students showed low results on the aggressiveness scale compared to Russian students. However, Russian students scored higher on the anxiety scale than Chinese students. Chinese students, in comparison with Russian respondents, show a greater degree of confidence in themselves and in their future. In the course of the study, average indicators of rigidity were found in both groups of respondents. However, the level of rigidity in Russian students is higher than in Chinese students. In conclusion, the article presents recommendations for the correction of emotional burnout, mental states and perfectionism among students.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"378 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116962083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the introduction of new federal educational standards, the focus of special attention is directed to the problem of the psychological safety of students’ personality at various levels of education. In modern scientific research, the predominant focus of psychological and pedagogical work on children and adolescents is traced, which is not consistent with the general educational doctrine of the Russian Federation, which defines parents and teachers as full-fledged subjects of education. In this regard, there is a need to involve parents and teachers in the work to ensure the psychological safety of the personality of students. A pilot study of ideas and attitudes towards the problem of psychological security of the individual will allow planning further work with all subjects of education. In the presented pilot study, 32 teachers and more than three hundred parents of students of primary and secondary schools of educational organizations of the North-West region took part. The work used survey research methods. The data obtained allow us to speak about the presence of teachers and parents’ ideas about the problem of the psychological safety of students’ personality, which shows the high significance and relevance of the identified problem. At the same time, it is possible to state a different degree of expression of ideas about psychological safety among teachers and parents, however, there are identical results in the interest of the subjects of education in increasing competence on this problem. Also, a fairly high level of positive emotional attitude and interest of both teachers and parents in solving the problems of psychological safety of the personality of primary and secondary school students was determined. The results of the pilot empirical study made it possible to draw conclusions and outline ways for further full-scale empirical research and psychological and pedagogical support for subjects of education while ensuring the psychological safety of the students’ personality.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123704833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The content of the discipline “Legal Psychology” is analyzed from the standpoint of theoretical and practical knowledge, the main approaches to the study of the problems of professional formation of personality, stated in the psychology of higher education, are considered. The article is devoted to an urgent topic – the role of psychology in the training of a future specialist in a transforming society. It is noted that the importance of studying the course “Legal Psychology” at universities is primarily due to the fact that psychological science makes a great contribution to solving the multi-profile tasks of strengthening the legal system and implementing the efforts of the state in the fight against offenses, crimes. As is known, the law enforcement activity of most legal professions takes place in the field of public relations and presupposes high emotional tension, self-organization and the development of skills in communication activities. The formation of psychological knowledge among lawyers is the most important task of training a specialist. Being a borderline science between psychology and jurisprudence, legal psychology is designed to provide a future specialist with an understanding of the psychological features of such a socio-cultural phenomenon as law, the socio-psychological essence of legal regulation, psychological features of human behavior in the field of relations regulated by law. It is noted that psychological knowledge will contribute to the development of psychological competence of students on issues most significant in their future professional activities. The author has made an attempt to investigate the mechanisms of organizing the training of students of law schools in psychology. Training is considered as a complex system that affects all key aspects of the educational process of the university. The objectives of the training are outlined, the methodological basis for planning and organizing psychological education of law students under the guidance of a teacher is presented. The principles of teaching in the context of the organization of the educational process are revealed, during the implementation of which the educational context of psychological disciplines is filled with practice-oriented professional content. This is achieved, according to the author of the article, by updating the content of psychological training of future specialists in the field of jurisprudence.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121921991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A significant quantitative growth in the past decades of persons with impairment of psychophysical development in Russia and abroad determines the priority of the activities of public institutions. In the problem field of special pedagogy, the place of interaction of education and culture is given. The article provides an analysis of theoretical and applied research activities of public institutions, proposes to systematize the existing network partnership practices. It is shown that network interaction has a significant potential in the field of socio-cultural develop-ment. The cooperation between organizations of education and culture allows us to solve this task the most successfully. Established by means of the network relationships make it possible not only to exchange each other's resources or compensate for their own deficit at the expense of partner resources, but also to combine the available potential. The authors substantiate and describe theoretically the main provisions of the network interaction of social partners: educational and cultural organizations aimed at ensuring the socialization and inculturation of persons with disabilities, i.e. the implementation of the socio-cultural function of education. Based on the analyzed sources, it is concluded that socialization, i.e. adaptation to the social order of life, occurs faster than inculturation – adaptation to the values, traditions and customs of society. Based on these provisions, a model of network coop-eration of educational and cultural institutions has been developed and described – a structural and content model for ensuring the socialization and inculturation of persons with disabilities, which involves the participation in the process of its implementation of specialists of educational and cultural systems necessary for the specifics of interaction. The proposed model makes it possible to expand partnership relations by means of other social spheres. The results of the study (on the example of an inclusive \"Theater for all\") can be a starting point for pedagogical teams to understand their ability to design their own models using network interaction resources.","PeriodicalId":301543,"journal":{"name":"Educational Psychology in Polycultural Space","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128890102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
