For unique features of PMSG like high power density, less maintenance requirement in comparison to the other kind of machine, it is pioneering in the WECS technology. In this paper modeling of PMSG and PWM converter have been explored well. The control of PMSG in its machine side and grid side has been achieved by Field Oriented Control(Vector Control). The machine side converter is controlled by a vector control strategy. The grid side converter is controlled by proposing a grid side voltage oriented control by which the DC link voltage is achieved constant. Finally the simulation of the model is performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK and all the results has been discussed briefly.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127518114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The image encryption is widely used to secure transmission of data in an open internet works. Every data has its own unique features; therefore different data requires different type of encryption algorithm. Many of the available algorithms are suitable for textual data but they are not suitable for multi-media data such as images, videos. Moreover, traditional cryptographic algorithms which are available for data security are often not fast enough to process the large amount of data generated by different multimedia applications to meet the real-time needs. This paper presents an Encryption/Decryption method based on both Permutation and Substitution. In this method, the data is scrambled efficiently in the frequency domain, i.e., the permutation and substitution process is performed on the DFT coefficients of the input data. Three different keys of random sequence along with a specific equation are used for substitution and three more keys are used to change the positions of the DFT coefficient values for three matrices generated from the RGB color image. In this algorithm six different keys have been used, which are highly unpredictable and random. This increases the security of Multimedia data. This method requires low hardware cost and reduces computational complexity. This algorithm is able to work with different types of files; for example: image files (both gray-scale and RGB color image), audio files, text file, etc. The software is realized using MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130200422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some power transformers may fail earlier than their stipulated life, while some of them even may cross their limit of recommended age and they are still in working status. But the transformers which are in working condition after their completion of expected age or near to complete their expected age, normally need more care and precautions. For this, some important tests are involved more often in a regular fashion to determine the health status. These tests include moisture level determination in paper insulation, moisture level in oil insulation, BDV, flash point, acidity, tan delta (dissipation factor) measurement and IFT etc. and adopt the recommendation and precautionary action to avoid major faults. In this report, a survey of three power transformers (21 year old) of HPSEBL, Shimla has been performed on the basis of DIRANA (Dielectric Response Analyzer) wherein details related to its paper insulation moisture diagnostics have been taken as preventive measure to safeguard the equipment.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122609708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The measurements include voltage magnitudes, real and reactive power injection at the buses, and real and reactive power flow through the lines. With the advent of phasor measurement units (PMU), that provides synchronized voltage and current phasors at the PMU installed bus and the adjoining lines, a new chapter has been added to the state estimation process. This paper compares the conventional weighted least squares state estimation technique with the Hybrid state estimation technique that includes both conventional and synchronized measurements obtained from SCADA system and PMUs. No bus is taken as reference for Hybrid Estimator. Cartesian coordinate system is used to negate the problems faced when flat start or lightly loaded lines are considered. Tests are done on the standard IEEE 14-bus system. Results of both the methods are compared which shows that the Hybrid state estimation improves the precision of the estimates to a great extent.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115428354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The piezoelectric cantilever beam is subjected to harmonic base excitation by applying vertical acceleration of 0.2g through body load. The width of the cantilever beam is distributed at three equal lengths as discretized linear function by applying the block pulse functions. Initial study indicate that piezoelectric cantilever composed of varying width as discretized linear function using block pulse functions (BPFs) is found to generate approximately 2.5 times the voltage per unit base acceleration as generated by rectangular piezoelectric cantilever for same volume of substrate and piezoelectric material and for the same natural frequency. Further harmonic analysis is performed on the piezoelectric cantilever beam designed using BPFs to figure parameters like charge, voltage and energy produced by a unimorph varying width piezoelectric cantilever beam using Comsol Multiphysics.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125460138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Small signal model for un-terminated asymmetric Z-source network has been derived. The asymmetric nature of Z-source network leads to formation of up-down glitch in its control to Z-source capacitor voltage transfer functions. The up-down glitch is due to the complex zero frequency falling in between pair of complex pole frequencies that introduces sudden slope changes in bode magnitude plot. Simulation and experimental results against perturbations are presented to show the efficacy of designed controller.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125972599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
