The reliability of such a system is assessed by the performance at the customer end, i.e., at the load points. This paper presents the comparison and performance some of the reliability indices by increment of load in equal and unequal mode on every node. Hence, it helps to find out a healthy mode of increment of load for 33-node distribution network. The results show that a multiplying factor is suitable for the increment of load at various nodes for a distribution system.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116037355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These circuit topology of resonant converter with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) with an energy-blocking diode with zero-current switching (ZCS). Only active power switches are used for power energy conversion to reduce the cost of active power switches and control circuits. The active power switches are controlled by pulse width modulation at a fixed switching frequency and a constant duty cycle. In all cases the resonant converters are operated at discontinuous conduction mode, the inductor current through the resonant tank could achieve ZCS of the energy-blocking diodes. All active power switches can be operated with ZVS, and measured energy conversion efficiency. MATLAB/SIMULATION results demonstrated a satisfactory performance of resonant power converter, which is particularly, suited to the energy conversion applications in renewable energy generation systems.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"193 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114863901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of the hydrothermal scheduling problem is to find out the discharge of hydro plants and power generation of thermal plants to minimize the total fuel cost at a schedule horizon while satisfying various constraints. In the present work, the effects of valve point loading in the fuel cost function of the thermal plants are also considered. The developed algorithm is illustrated for a test system consisting of four hydro plants and three thermal plants. It is found that proposed Time varying acceleration coefficient based particle swarm optimization with constriction factor and inertia weight factor approach (TVAC-PSOCFIWA) appears to be the powerful to minimize fuel cost.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131395640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In automotive industry, current focus is on the development of active safety systems, which assist the driver in order to avoid critical situations. But, some key states which are valuable for the vehicle dynamics control system are not measurable or cost prohibitive. Hence, the states are to be estimated. This paper presents the estimation of tire slip-angles, which are among the essential states. A simplified model of the vehicle has been considered during a turning maneuver. Then, the interdependency of lateral and longitudinal velocities w.r.t yaw rate is depicted. Later, the longitudinal velocity is subsequently used for slip angle estimation for the front and the rear wheels using linear Kalman filter approach. Computer simulation have been conducted to verify the proposed approach with results indicating that the proposed approach is very effective and robust in estimating tire slip-angles of a vehicle.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131942338","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DG is expected to play an important role in modern electric power system in near future due to the support offered by current political policies and global environmental issues. Besides a lot of benefits offered by DG, it may cause negative impacts on the distribution network. The injected currents of DGs to a distribution network lead to not having a radial network anymore, and consequently network faces an inefficient protection system that was formerly designed according to the existing philosophy behind the distribution network. In the present work, an adaptive zonal protection scheme is suggested for distribution network with DG. The distribution network is divided into several zones with the help of boundary circuit breakers. The operation of these circuit breakers are monitored and controlled by the control center. The analysis is carried out in an 11 kV, 25-bus radial distribution network and the results are discussed.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"29 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120983791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
