An ASR system recognizes human speech and transforms them into outputs such as text or any other machine readable outputs. ASR is increasingly used in various applications such as dictation system, voice or speaker recognition and so on. Despite the advancement in the development of ASR system, not many of such system are developed for children. Children today are increasingly using computers for many daily activities including for education. The lack of ASR system for children causes them to be lagging in behind adult users. One of the reasons for the poor development of ASR system for children is the difficulties of obtaining or creating the speech corpus database of children. Unlike adults, researchers find it difficult to engage children in recording process. This research aims at developing an ASR system for Malay speaking children with the use of a small speech database. The ASR system developed in this research has the ability to recognize words at 76% accuracy.","PeriodicalId":300460,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128936855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This action game is attractive because the game play usually use the interesting user interface and easily affect human emotion. With the aim to eliminate all the enemy, this kind of game will be boredom the player if the enemy behavior are monotones. This game needs a controller to add dynamic system into the enemy such as the artificial intelligence. Therefore, this paper proposes Fuzzy Takagi Sugeno method that will take several input and give the response as the output. So, the game will manipulate the enemy behavior that make the game more challenging and interesting to be played.","PeriodicalId":300460,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127120313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, such the social media only delivers and feeds information to the users based on his or her social network, closed-friends, or predefined preferences but not by their location and time. With overwhelming amount of information available in social media today, it becomes also impossible to search for information that is time and location-relevant. Therefore, we see a need to create a mobile application that can provide users interesting and relevant information based on user's preferences, location and time and thus develops a mobile application, namely OPLITOP. We hope that the developed application could serve as a localized broadcast media that can notify users of critical and dangerous situations that may be relevant to the users. OPLITOP is first developed on the Android operating system and it uses several software tools such as Google maps, phpMyAdmin web server and Eclipse for implementation. Moreover, in addition to allowing users to manual input information, we also implement data crawler techniques that can automatically fetch data from publicly available databases (e.g. official websites, calendars and possibly Facebook events).","PeriodicalId":300460,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"81 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116528449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Human will need to communicate with robot, and vice versa. For English language, some robot can communicate with human. On the other hand, there are many limitations for Thai language. However, Thai is a tonal language which one work can be pronounced five tones including emotional tone. Therefore, there is a speech synthesis of Thai language. But, it does not adaptively perform for changing parameters which are used to generate the emotional tone. Therefore, this paper presents Thai speech synthesis with emotional tone based on Formant synthesis to synthesize Thai syllables including accent tone and emotional tone. Formant synthesis is a rule-base approach which can synthesize the speech by parameters. Fundamental frequency (f0) is an important parameter. In proposed method, the core component is the construction of intonation patterns is called rules. These rules are firstly set up in the format of Formants frequencies. The manipulation of this approach begins with substituting each phoneme of input array of phoneme of syllable with corresponded formants frequencies. Then, outcomes of this process are adapted process with parameters. We utilized 5 samples of Thai syllable for 5 people by listening in control room.","PeriodicalId":300460,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126536486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed solution comprises of two components which are a mobile application and a web service. The mobile application is implemented on the Android platform and it applies the augmented reality technology to enrich lecture slides' viewing experience. That is lecture slides' creator can embed extra contents such as images, texts and videos onto their original lecture slides through the mobile application. When a learner views a slide with the embedded information through the proposed mobile application, he/she will be able to view these extra contents overlaying on top of the original content. This proposed application composes of three major processes including: Image Detection, Corners Detection, and Augmentation. Moreover, the instructors can manage their own contents via our website. From the experimental results, the accuracy of image detection is 85%. From our satisfactory survey for using our application also shows that our application can engage learners to study more. This new slide reading style does not only provide more information about the lesson to the learners, it may also help attracting them to study more.","PeriodicalId":300460,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115892081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
