Digitalization of the industry is critical for improving the production process, lowering costs, and growing the associated business. In this regard, Arrowhead Tools (AHT), an H2020 project, aims to transform and automate the industry across Europe. AHT (Arrowhead Tools) is built mostly on Arrowhead Framework (AHF), an open-source framework for automating and integrating IoT objects with services. AHF enforces IoT system connectivity through real-time managing data, automation of scalable engineering systems, and security features. Following the definition of the AHT proposal and AHF structures, we introduced the notion of tool and toolchain in relation to Industry 4.0 and AHT. The sensor relies on two basic physics principles: the Tyndall effect and the Venturi effect. The work done so far consists in designing and modelling, 3D printing and testing the aforementioned method. The artificial transmission lines are implemented in microstrip technology and using lumped elements to obtain the left-handed behavior. A detailed analysis of the real-life implementation of the couplers considering both the effects of microstrip lines and lumped elements is described, comparing the results of the two proposed couplers. The influence of the standardized values of the lumped elements and their finite quality factor is investigated when implementing the two dual hybrid couplers. The robot exemplifies key concepts regarding locomotion using wheels and legs, voice recognition, programming microcontrollers, parametric design and fused deposition modeling. Bobbert Bot was designed using open-source technologies and its components were chosen so that the result is functional and affordable. It responds to a set of 9 simple voice commands in English. Its primary method of movement is driving (wheels only), the joints of the legs intervening to help navigate obstacles. It can offer feedback on its status through RGB LEDs and playing situation specific sounds. It is powered by a lithium-ion polymer battery and controlled through two Arduino development boards communicating through the I2C protocol. The hardware module is based on Arduino MKR development platform, which collects data from different Electronic Control Units (ECUs) through the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus of the vehicle and geographical location from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites. The connection to the web server is made via the GSM/GPRS network and the parameters are sent using the Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. The received data are stored in a database using the CSV format files. The server has a web interface for users login, for viewing and interpreting the parameters values, and it offers various graphs to facilitate vehicle analysis over time. The main feature of the acquisition system proposed by us is the use of a switch unit, which allows switching between up to 5 photovoltaic cells during a test and the elimination of the errors caused by wire resistance by using a Kelvin connection for measurements. In addition to the acquisition of the data itself, our system also allows simulation of the real environment in which the photovoltaic cells operate. For this, the LOT - Quantum Design LSH302 solar simulator is used to stimulate solar cells with a luminous flux of 1 sun and the temperature of a solar cell is modified using a Votsch LabEvent T/20/40/3 climatic chamber. For many subsequent processes in the production chain of power electronic assemblies, like potting or ultrasonic wire bonding, flux residues are a major obstacle, which can lead to manufacturing and reliability problems. State of the art cleaning processes make use of water- or solvent-based liquids in a washing process, which is followed by a rinsing and drying step. As the utilized liquids have to be recycled or disposed after use and drying is often performed at elevated temperatures or in controlled atmosphere, the procedure is energy and resource consuming. An alternative way to remove flux residues and prepare the surface for further processing is a laser induced removal process. In this paper the applicability of a nanosecond-pulsed ytterbium-doped fiber laser and a continuous-wave carbon-dioxide laser to clean flux residues on copper surfaces is presented. The cleaning result was assessed via energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, fluorescence measurement technology and laser confocal analysis. The baseband coding is an essential processing found in a very wide range of industrial data transmission systems, wireless and optical communications and also in computer networks. The proposed system has the capability to operate with an extended range of unipolar, bipolar and multilevel codes. In addition to data transmission, the presented design can also be used in analysis and experimental study of nonstandard encoding schemes as well as for didactical purposes. The hardware structure of the system is based mainly on PIC18F4580 microcontroller. Codes requiring bipolar and multilevel operation are implemented using dedicated converters connected to the output ports of the microcontroller. The data source for the encoding system can be internal or external, being selectable by the user. The relevant parameters regarding the system operation are continuously presented on a local LCD. Among the array of meteorological sensors required to determine power production is irradiance sensing instrumentation such as thermopile pyranometers and PV reference cells. Given the relatively high cost of these sensors some alternatives are entailed. This paper follows the development of a low cost solar irradiance sensor or a PV reference cell, using ubiquitous hardware – a Raspberry Pi Zero W, an INA219 current sensor, and a 300 milliwatt [mW] solar cell, calibrated with the help of a pyranometer. Deep learning techniques are used to reconstruct the GHI from values read by the current sensor. The univariate time series values read from the reference cell's current sensor are used as input to encode information into the long short-term memory recurrent neural networks (LSTM-RNN), with univariate time series values of GHI from the pyranometer as output. Parameters like reliability, efficiency, and power density often are quite opposable, so it is hard to get them all toghether. In this paper, investigation of the load resistor impact upon the overall reliability of a simple DC-DC PoL (Point-of-Load) converter is assessed. SA-TB130PCB-000 evaluation board having embedded synchronous buck converter was selected for testing and measuring MTBF for such a converter. Thermal scanning in infrared was performed in order to obtain the component capsule's temperature which is needed in stress factor calculation.
