It anticipates and combats events that could change the health of the average person and the climate in which he lives. Air pollution is one of the main factors in premature deaths, posing a considerable risk to public health. The main diseases that can occur as a result of pollution are strokes or myocardial infarction. For this reason, citizens seek to be informed and know, in real time, the level of air quality both at the time when the information is sought and in the future. The air quality in that area can be predicted according to the variation of temperatures and air currents. This paper proposes the creation of a model to predict the level of air quality. Thus, the prediction will be made over a period of time in order to be able to adopt various specific measures that are required. For example, warning vulnerable people, the elderly, and parents with children, while limiting travel to certain areas for which air quality is exceeded.","PeriodicalId":300380,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 28th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124693670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following the authors' previous research on PCB modeling approaches and effective material calibration, this study focuses on the impact of conductive layers in PCB response under static, dynamic, and thermomechanical loading. We evaluate the merit of complex PCB modeling by comparing an equivalent homogenous board model with trace models including copper circuits as shell reinforcements bodies, respectively mapping the traces material properties on the board mesh based on local copper concentration. Lastly, we assess the effect of local CTE mismatch and stiffness over the low cycle fatigue life of the PCBA. The main objective of this work is to propose an efficient methodology for modeling the PCBA for predictive reliability assessment.","PeriodicalId":300380,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 28th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133997519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigated images are used in particular for quality control after individual process steps as part of Automated Optical Inspections (AOI). Image processing systems are among the key technologies here. Nevertheless, the storage and transmission of image data is still a major challenge for many companies. The use of AI-based image compression methods with higher quality performance compared to conventional methods becomes inevitable. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) or Transformers are currently gaining ground in this area. However, the efficiency of these architectures has not yet been demonstrated in an industrial scenario. In this work, both a CNN- and a Transformer-based model with built-in Attention Mechanisms are trained with 8 bits per pixel (BPP) grayscale images generated in an industrial ultrasonic sensor production line. Even in the first test phase, in which only 2,000 images were used for model training, a compression rate of 0.162 BPP is achieved, far exceeding the quality of comparable JPEG-compressed images. When training the models with 100,000 images, the lowest BPP rate of 0.009 is achieved by the Transformer-based algorithm, resulting in an image quality that is sufficient for most quality assessment use cases. Thus, our results demonstrate the applicability and superiority of AI-based compression algorithms in industry. Their use leads not only to more efficient data transmission, but also to huge savings in storage space and costs for companies compared to traditional image compression methods.","PeriodicalId":300380,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 28th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130076712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such actuators are on-off valves for digital hydraulics, new field in fluid power where fluid flow is controlled by a number of fast on-off valves connected in a structure similar with switches from an electronic digital to analogue converter. These valves must be very fast, with response times in millisecond range, and this requirement can be fulfilled if both mechanical structure and electronics are very fast. Our research focuses on the electronic driver and how to improve its speed without increasing supply voltage by adding a charged capacitor during off-on switching. Proposed method is simulated using LTspice program and implemented and tested on real circuits with a standard contactor as electromagnet load and with a real on-off valve for digital hydraulics.","PeriodicalId":300380,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 28th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127934132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is the reason for this research for available solutions for a colour detecting sensor that can work on the same platform and fulfils the same principals: cost-effective, easy-to-use, portable and low-battery consumption. TCS230 was the best fit for this purpose, an optical colour sensor. Based on the values the sensor reads for red, green and blue, the software decides what colour is displayed in front of the sensor. The prototype that was build can read to the user 11 colours. Differential transmission lines are a good solution to mitigate the different types of noise which inevitably occur and affect the signal. However, this comes with a disadvantage: the signal skew. The meander lines are used in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to compensate the aforementioned problem. In addition, this method improves the signal integrity, and it is a popular choice for signals synchronization. In this paper, a study of the routing performances for a high-speed circuit at high frequencies is presented. The goal is to determine the optimum meander shape and the maximum speed at which the circuit operates. The performance evaluation was done in terms of S- parameters and the reflections level simulated with Time-Domain-Reflectometry (TDR) function. For simulations, a PCB with 2circuits of Ethernet type signals is considered. The signals are propagated through different PCB layers, from a line-separation relay to an integrated circuit. A series of bits was transmitted from the relay through the equivalent filter of the lines to the integrated circuit. The results showed a slight signal attenuation due to the mismatch of the impedance.","PeriodicalId":300380,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 28th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121424079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Creation of depth maps which describes the surrounding environment is a common practice in the field. In order to create an accurate map the correctness of the camera calibration is an important factor. In this paper we analyze the impact of camera calibration on the environment mapping reconstruction, by exploring the effect on the reconstruction error from short range to long range. For electric vehicles, the magnetic and electric field will be measured both during connection to the charging station and in transient mode when the car brakes and accelerates. Fast charging stations use high currents and cause large magnetic and electric fields around them. The key factors influencing the predictability of the egg-hatching processes are identified, and using the subjective ones are selected the main functionalities that an incubator control system should provide. Next, is presented the conceptual model of an incubator control system with all its subsystems and regimes of operation. The study also presents the algorithm of the system divided into two parallel processes. The developed model offers a new conceptual approach for increasing the sustainability of the process, which increases the chances for efficient control of the process and reduces the chances for complete loss of control.
