This scalability increases the average number of hops from source to destination and hence it may affect the network performance in terms of delay and throughput. Many solutions have been proposed for wireless mesh networks. Among them the 802.11s proposes a Hybrid Wireless mesh Protocol HWMP. This protocol combines the functionalities of the Radio Metric Ad-hoc On demand Distance Vector protocol RM-AODV and the Tree Based Routing protocol TBR. In this work we propose to evaluate the scalability of the HWMP using network simulator NS2. For this purpose we used a grid wide network topologies with n*n static Mesh Point MP routers. The simulation results show a very interesting result related to the loss rate, path establishment delay, network throughput and signaling overhead.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125739328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, a homogenization procedure of the LHM is carried out in order to design the patch antenna at a suitable frequency where the losses of the LHM are low. From the results we obtained, it is noted that in the presence of the LHM, the antenna is more directive and has a higher gain.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129611807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this system presents a major inconvenience: all the traffic follows the shortest path to go from the source to the destination. So the clutter state in a part of the network will be problematic. Today the new technology MPLS-TE permits to share the data according to the available resources in networks to guarantee the quality of service. Therefore, every packet will on label to assure a strict control according to the associated ticket, and the portion of the traffic can be deviated to some paths according to the rules of the mechanism MPLS-TE and constraints required by the operator. In this article, we modify the MPLS module, we propose MPLS-M to increase the throughput and reduce the number of lost packets.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"76 46","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134196651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The flexibility and performance of this approach is presented in two examples. Fist, a multiplatform CAD software developed in Java to design electromagnetic devices was encapsulated in this environment. The second application encapsulates a parallel FDTD 3D code developed in C++ and processed in a computer cluster. The results show the grid's high performance, efficiency, management easiness and portability, characterizing it as an important tool to share computational resources and to reuse them.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134406055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be either a compressive stress or tensile stress. It is important to have right value of either compressive or tensile stress for the particular application. In this paper we present an investigation of the stresses generated by the gold thin film during the fabrication process of RF MEMS switches. During the fabrication of RF MEMS series switches a small value of tensile stress is intentionally generated so that beam does not lead to stiction after final release. We are also briefly presenting a new mathematical model for calculation of the spring constant of the beam structures. The method we used is based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam equations. The spring constants calculated for two new beam designs were 3.37N/m and 3.31N/m respectively.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129359927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model of the whole antenna consists of a planar structure connected via a microstrip line which guarantees a continuous excitation. For this we have to use the commercial electromagnetic software ADS (Momentum) based on the method of moments (MoM) to investigate the electromagnetic behaviour of this antenna. The behavior of the resonant frequency as a function of the position and the dimension of a lumped element is studied in depth. Furthermore, the effects of finite metallization thickness and losses are also investigated in detail.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121918210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
