The aim of this work is to enhance gain by periodic stacked subwavelengh hole array. We applied several types of holes with different thicknesses of the metal plate and with varied distance between the periodic stacked subwavelength hole array and the antenna. We found a good improvement of gain from 6 to 17.5dB in some cases. We also showed that the directivity of the antenna is good in the case of transverse resonance.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133461423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first device that is presented is a directly modulated laser with a bandwidth exceeding 20 GHz and good linearity that is used for analog wideband link. This kind of device is precious for remote delivery and distribution of wide bandwidth signals with very low attenuations. The second device we will present is a passive mode-locked quantum dash lasers that has sufficiently good phase noise performances to be used as a carrier for 60 GHz wireless transmission links. The third device we will present is a dual wavelength laser. It can be used for a wide and potentially fast tuning of the frequency generated by heterodyning two optical wavelengths on a photodetector, the photodetector behaving as a photomixer.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126140915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed divider configuration has the provision of heat transfer by resistors connected to the ground plane through vias. The divider structure is devised in such a way that voltage distributions in its two half circuit are symmetrical and the even-and odd- mode analysis may be applied. The method of least squares (MLS) is used to develop an algorithm for its design and optimization, which also incorporates impedance matching among its input and output ports. The widths and lengths of line sections are determined in the design procedure. the proposed power divider and its MLS design algorithm are verified by the electromagnetic softwares.","PeriodicalId":300247,"journal":{"name":"2009 Mediterrannean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"169 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134137507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
