In this research, fluoride concentration in five brands of bottled-water samples sold in Lafia city (A, B, C, D and E) was investigated. Five different batches of each brand were analyzed. Samples were determined via potentiometric, and photometric methods. The mean concentration of fluoride within the investigated samples, were of the range 0.30 – 0.44 mg/L which were below WHO recommended limit, except sample B (0.53 mg/L) which was within the recommended limit. In the photometric method, the concentrations of the samples were within the range of 0.51 – 0.88 mg/L which were within WHO recommended limit. The outcome of this research suggests that within areas where there is elevated content of fluoride in water, bottled-water should be consumed instead of tap water because the former minimizes the danger of fluorosis. However, people who majorly drink bottled-water maybe at higher risk of dental caries; and need to take fluoride supplements. In this study, concentration of fluoride determined by photometric method was significantly higher than that of ISE method (P<0.05). Hence, photometric method was more sensitive than the ISE method.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"47 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140502293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We show that our formalism can reveal two types of time representations: arithmetic and algebraic and provide analytical explanations for their properties and relations. We also demonstrate how our formalism can account for various physical phenomena, such as spin, rotation, revolution, and angular gauge momentum, and provide correlative proofs from quantum, mesoscopic, and astrophysical domains. Our formalism contributes to the ongoing quest for a unified theory of physics and has implications for the future of science and technology.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"97 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140501671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The maximum band gap was found in the Be-Si system (1.03 eV for a single-atomic layer). In this system, the band gap disappears when four single-atomic layers are deposited. In the Li-Si system (0.98 eV for a single-atomic layer) it disappears for two single-atomic layers. In the Al-Si–system (0.50 eV with four single-atomic layers), the band gap disappears for three single-atomic layers. This behavior of the band gap can be explained by the passivation of the substrate surface states and the peculiarities of the electronic structure of the adsorbed metals.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140501416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The DMMC (2-(4-(dimethylamino)benzylidene)malononitrile) and DMDC (2-(4-(dimethylamino)benzylidene)malononitrile) exhibit TICT and ICT state respectively via structural modification at the ground state. Solvent-dependent fluorescence enhancement of these molecules is monitored by comparing the relative intensity of locally excited (LE) and ICT emission band from excitation wavelength and concentration-dependent study.Both molecules display the ICT emission process at excited state depending upon excitation wavelength and concentration in solution. Interestingly, aggregation behaviour is also observed during excitation wavelength and concentration-dependent study in H2O. Solvent and excitation wavelength-dependent quenching and enhancement of fluorescence properties are also observed. Dipolar state and molecular orientation may play an important role in excitation and concentration-dependent fluorescence process in solution.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"117 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140501761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People clipped with orthodontic wires may take copper barrel brandy orally, with dilution of without dilution. How far the orthodontic wires will be affected by these items? To find an answer the present research work is undertaken. Ni-Cr alloys have good corrosion resistance. This is attained by arrangement of protective oxide film in oral environment. Corrosion resistance of orthodontic wires prepared from Ni-Cr alloy in artificial saliva in existence & nonexistence of copper barrel, water and soda water has been estimated by polarization technique. It is generally noted that corrosion resistance of Ni-Cr alloy in synthetic saliva in existence of copper barrel, water and soda water decreases. When orthodontic wire made of Ni-Cr is engrossed in simulated saliva, the linear polarization resistance (LPR) value is 792355 Ohmcm.2 When it is submerged in copper barrel + artificial saliva (AS) system, linear polarization resistance (LPR) value decreases to 334516 Ohmcm.2 Corrosion current increases from 5.448 x 10-8 A/cm2 to 14.47 x 10-8 When it is engrossed in soda water + artificial saliva (AS) system, LPR value decreases to 245052","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129462209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In actual practice, there are extensive assortment of techniques ranging from simple ones like sample weighing to sophisticated methods using highly dedicated instrumentation. The most primordial technique is the classical method like gravimetry (based on weight measurement), titrimetry (based on addition of a solution to sample solution). Spectrochemical methods are based on the measurement of spectrum of the samples using different instruments. Electroanalytical methods utilize the potential or current of a electrochemical cell for determination of sample concentration. Chromatography is a separation based technique used to isolate the analyte from the other species to enable interference free determination. 1 Spectrochemical methods depends on spectroscopy which is the study and measurement of the spectrum produced upon interaction of sample with electromagnetic (EM) radiation as function of frequency or wavelength of radiation.
