Some theories including cognitive science, artificial emotion, artificial psychology theories and multimedia design principles based on emotion & cognitive theories are used for this design. Then the emotion cognition model of E-learning system is researched and builded. Through comparing retention test and transfer test, three typical student scenarios are defined as E-learning assessment strategies. The customizable learning paths are intelligently adjusted according to students' demonstrated interests, emotional status and learning capabilities by the navigation module in this E-learning design. This E-learning system design will significantly improve the quality of online education and study.","PeriodicalId":299461,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Computer","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115925640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We proposed an algorithm, iOLDA, and the software framework for interactive topic evolution pattern detection based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). To abate those topics not interested or related, it allows the users to add supervised information by adjusting the posterior topic-word distributions at the end of each iteration, which may influence the inference process of the next iteration. Experiments are conducted both on English and Chinese corpus and the results show that the extracted topics capture meaningful themes in the data, and the proposed interaction policies can help to discover better topics.","PeriodicalId":299461,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Computer","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114754059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose an approach based on Petri nets models for reliability prediction of software systems at the software architecture level, specified by UML. UML lacks a formal semantics and hence it is not possible to apply, directly, mathematical techniques on UML models for reliability evaluation. To reach this goal we propose an automatic translation of UML Diagrams into Petri Nets. In this paper we study the use of Sequence Diagrams for the reliability evaluation of software architecture. Starting from annotated UML sequence diagrams we derive a reliability models based on Petri nets. The UML model is annotated according to the UML profile for Quality of Service and Fault Tolerance. The proposed algorithm translates the annotated UML specification into Petri net reliability models, which can then be analyzed using standard techniques. Reliability results are feedback at the software architecture level in the UML diagrams.","PeriodicalId":299461,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Computer","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114666704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using comparative study, this paper discusses the strategies and contents of teacher's guidance in the context of online class, and practices the strategies and contents. The results demonstrate that if the strategies of guidance are appropriate, subject consciousness of students can be improved, as well as their participation in the class, so the class becomes more active. A UWB transmitter works by sending billions of pulses across a very wide spectrum of frequency several GHz in bandwidth. The corresponding receiver then translates the pulses into data by listening for a familiar pulse sequence sent by the transmitter. UWB's combination of larger spectrum, lower power and pulsed data improves speed and reduces interference with other wireless spectra. In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has mandated that UWB radio transmissions can legally operate in the range from 3.1 GHz up to 10.6 GHz, at a limited transmit power of −41dBm/MHz. The result is dramatic short-range channel capacity and limited interference.","PeriodicalId":299461,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Computer","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124057418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our framework, first, a sliding window is used to pre-segment the audio stream into short segments by moving from start to the end. Second, various kinds of audio features are extracted to represent different audio sounds in each segment. Third, GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) is used as the classifier to detect cheering events. Finally, in addition to widely used smoothing rules, this paper developed a new boundary-seeking smoothing algorithm to overcome the shortcomings of conventional sliding-window based analysis method and eliminate the false alarms caused by background noise. By integrating all the techniques, an average F value of 82.99% is achieved in the cheering detection task evaluated on eleven games of five kinds of sports. In this study, we discuss the complementarity of various kinds of audio features for the cheering event detection task. We also compare the result with the HMM based event detection framework. Based on our study, we conclude that for long-term audio event detection such as cheering event detection, sliding-window based framework gives more satisfied result.","PeriodicalId":299461,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Computer","volume":"82 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126128522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
