The application of this approach to the development of distributed process control system of North-Muisk railway tunnel (Baikal-Amur Railroad, East Siberia, Russia) is considered. The development of distributed process control system was carried out with the help of a simulator. The simulator contains the following programs and models: an operator interface, control programs, a model of processing equipment, a model of railway traffic, a model of the outside world, and a model of microclimate inside the tunnel. The simulator was used for following purposes: debugging of control programs in test bed, optimization in test bed, training of operating personnel, and testing of control programs in real-world system. The models were executed within the framework of distributed simulation system Mera. Mera is the C++ based process-oriented discrete simulation system. There are various implementations of the simulation system Mera. The sequential implementations are realized for Windows and in Java. The distributed implementations are realized for Supercomputer MBC 1000/M (Russia). A new implementation of the simulation system Mera in Java - transportation simulation system also is described.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131971391","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we systematize the fundamental principles of the new QoS-aware radically distributed (grid-like) multifunctional multiple access control to long-delay wireless medium (MFMAC) which ensures best efficiency and low cost for large-scale RRD areas. The distributed and cooperative MFMAC dynamical control techniques, optimization tasks, and bandwidth resource management strategies are considered also. The proposed radically distributed networking technology will allow an effective supporting and integration of mobile satellite and terrestrial cellular, personal, WLAN, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and other wireless systems of future generations 4G for such RRD regions, as BRIC (Brasilia, Russia, India, and China), Sea and Oceanpsilas Archipelago, Siberia, North Canada, Alaska, Central and South-East Asia, Latin America, Africa, Australia, etc.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115283890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although dirty-paper coding (DPC) is capacity achieving for this channel, employing dirty-paper coding is a computationally complex non-convex problem. To deal with this problem, many algorithms use iterative procedures to find the optimal solution. However, when the number of active users is large, these algorithms introduce a high order of complexity and suffer from memory drawback. Best Group (BG) selection is a method to address this problem. We propose a new BG selection algorithm that when is used jointly with the iterative dirty paper coding algorithm, provides acceptable results. The main feature of the proposed algorithm is that it is more efficient in a sense of computationally complexity than the similar algorithms. In addition as our simulation results show the proposed algorithm not only is much faster than similar algorithms, but also, it has very negligible reduction in the BC capacity.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128794335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An intelligent robot is different with the traditional mobile robot. The traditional mobile robot uses a powerful microcontroller to control the movement, with the help of sensing devices it normally is able to make a tactic decision but could not do any sophisticate thinking since the limitation of the computation power provided by microcontroller. However, the intelligent robot adds a separate layer of computation core, such as laptop or a single motherboard, on the top of the movement control microcontroller. That means, by adding a \"brain' the traditional mobile robot is upgraded to an intelligent machine, which is capable to undertake many sophisticate environment sensing and decision making. The prototype version of the intelligent management algorithm for swarmed intelligent robots has been simulated using Matlab and it is currently tested and evaluated using advanced intelligent robots system.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"151 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132367631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
