One of important features of powerline channels is the presence of strong impulsive noise. The length of modulation symbol in practical DMT systems is comparable with average length of noise pulses. In the article the impact of impulsive noise on performance of a coded DMT system is analyzed. The temporal dynamics of noise is described by two-level Markov model. Theoretic results and simulation lead to the following conclusions: with practical values of the ratio between noise impulse length and DMT symbol length, non-stationary nature of impulsive noise can noticeably affect performance of DMT systems; DFT leads to effective normalization of noise if average duration of noise pulses does not exceed 1% of DMT symbol length; during the noise burst the loss due to the impulsive nature of noise varies in the range of 1...2 dB.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115304570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that a consequence of this interaction are processes of interference of seismic and acoustic signals, which lead to considerable variations in the fields of amplitudes and phases of seismic oscillations in time and space. Such variations cause large errors in the estimated parameters used as informative ones in such problem. Recommendations on how to avoid such errors are given.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124633458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Multi-interfaced mobile devices are introduced in the market to enable heterogeneous access. The main problem is how to efficiently use these multi-interfaced devices to achieve best data throughput, reduced packet loss and optimized handover. In this paper, the advantages of multihoming approach have been combined with IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover (MIH) to achieve simultaneous access at available networks. The MIH services are used to achieve link layer information earlier than the handover execution. The simultaneous binding option of multihoming is used to achieve soft handover so that multiple interfaces can be efficiently used.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"08 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127034289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are two published attacks on this cipher. The first allows to break the cipher, consisted of 16 rounds. Another can break 36 rounds but only for some weak keys, in particulary, a 24-round version of CAST-256 can be broken for a 2-30 part of all possible keys. An attack described in this paper allows to break 24 rounds of CAST-256, but this attack works for all the keys and not only for the weak ones. Requirements of the attack are: 224 chosen plaintexts, 229 bytes of memory and 2244 encryptions. This complexity is less than the complexity of a brute-force attack for 256-bit keys. A success probability of the attack is over 90%.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121407778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sequence most favored in the literature is not the best one for all applications. Such is the diversity of digital motor control that it is sometimes difficult to determine which technique is best suited for a particular application. The main objective of this paper is to analyze different schemes that are best suitable for different applications. The integration of VLSI core with a set of useful peripherals significantly simplifies the implementation of SVPWM technique for three phase inverters. By transferring loads from the heavily loaded feeders to the relatively lightly loaded feeders, the network reconfiguration can balance feeder loads and eliminate overload conditions. The system load-balancing index (LBI) is used to determine the loading conditions of the system and maximum system loading capacity. The index value has to be minimum in the optimal network reconfiguration of load balancing. This paper presents a new approach for optimal network reconfiguration of a distribution system using genetic algorithm to determine the optimal network reconfiguration. The switches are taken into consideration for crossover process. After obtaining number of solutions from the combinational analysis, the optimal solution is selected based on the fitness function, i.e., the solution having the minimum index value. The proposed approach is tested on IEEE 16 bus system.","PeriodicalId":295946,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122070363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
