First, chaos synchronization of three dimensional systems is studied and 'generalized non-linear dynamical systems' are analyzed. The considered synchronization criterion consists of identical drive and response systems coupled with linear state error variables. As a consequence, the authors have proposed some theorems for synchronization. This paper features sufficient synchronization criteria for the linear coupled generalized non-linear dynamical systems obtained in an explicit algebraic form and the new synchronization criteria for some typical chaotic systems. Finally, the optimized criteria are applied to explain the Rossler system.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. Repeatedly, a random rule is selected repeatedly to produce an attractor. Barnsley (2006) used chaos game in function systems, giving rise to interesting fractals by combining it with function iterations. A fractal fern is generated by taking different probabilities in the chaos game. In this paper, the authors introduce two advanced iterations from nonlinear analysis into the study of IFS for generation and pattern recognition of new fractal ferns.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. This problem has its difficulty due to the fact that an interval \"striding\" multiple partitions should be counted multiple times. Previously the author proposed an approximated solution to this problem by employing a simulated annealing approach (Yang & Chiueh, 2006), which could give satisfactory results in most cases; however, there is no theoretical guarantee on its optimality. This paper proposes a method that could both optimally and deterministically partition a given set of 1D intervals into a given number of partitions. The author shows that some load balancing problems could also be formulated as a balanced interval partitioning problem.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. Numerical simulations show that the front introduced in the nonlinear portion deforms itself in the linear portion, but recovers its initial profile and velocity in the next nonlinear portion. The phenomenon of deformation and recovery can be used for the development of new and low cost electrical transmission lines that can be used to transport localized excitations.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. The sound of firecrackers is a type of intensive impulsive noise, which is hazardous. In this paper, the noise produced by firecrackers during celebration festivals in Aurangabad (M.S.), India is measured. The noise is analyzed from the study of power spectra for different types of firecrackers. Noise measurements of firecrackers show that they produce high sound pressure peak levels at their characteristics frequencies. Plots of noise power versus frequency for different crackers are presented and the inferences are discussed. Typical firecracker peak noise levels are given.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. The problem of stock classification is the test bed for the performance of KBMA. Domain knowledge is incorporated into the initialization and reproduction phases of evolutionary computation. In particular, the structure of financial statements is used to sort the attributes, which contributed to a faster convergence on near optimal solutions. A semantic net is used to measure the distance between parents and offspring. Two case studies were implemented, in which domain knowledge is used to constrain the reproductive operators so that the offspring is semantically dissimilar or similar to the parent. The results show that KBMA outperformed the random memetic algorithm in the former case but did not in the latter case. The interpretation of the results is that when the search algorithm is distant from its goal, making large steps as defined by the semantic knowledge is helpful to the search.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. Accordingly, literature presents various secure routing protocols for MANETs by utilizing trust and data encryption. In this article, a whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is utilized for selecting the optimal secured routing path in the MANET. The WOA algorithm utilizes the trust factor and the distance between the nodes for computing the fitness for the routing path. Overall, the steps involved in the proposed routing algorithm are as follows: i) Measuring the trust and the distance-based metrics for every node; ii) Discovering k-disjoint path; and iii) Determining the optimal path based on the trust and the distance-based metrics. The performance of the trust-based WOA (T-Whale) is analyzed using the metrics, energy, throughput, and packet delivery rate. From the simulation results, it is evident that the T-Whale algorithm has the improved energy, throughput, and PDR values of 27.4520, 0.4, and 0.4, at the simulation time of 10 sec over the conventional trust random search algorithm when the node is under attack.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. This paper aims to highlight the potential of machine learning approaches as effective forecasting methods for predicting customer demand at the first level of organization of a supply chain where products are presented and sold to customers. For this purpose, we utilize Artificial Neural Networks ANNs trained with an effective second order algorithm, and Support Vector Machines SVMs for regression. We evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed approach using public data from the Netflix movie rental online DVD store in order to predict the demand for movie rentals during an especially critical for sales season, which is the Christmas holiday season. In our analysis we also integrated data from two other sources of information, namely an aggregator for movie reviews Rotten Tomatoes, and a movie oriented social network Flixster. Consequently, the approach presented in this paper combines the integration of data from various sources of information and the power of advanced machine learning algorithms for lowering the uncertainty barrier in forecasting supply chain demand.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int.
