Also, if any safe configuration under the weakly fair daemon model is also a safe configuration under the non-fair central daemon model, the worst-case stabilization time, measured in steps, is infinity. The implication of this new finding is that any problem, the existence of self-stabilizing algorithms for the weakly fair daemon model only, is unsatisfactory, that is of significance to pursue self-stabilizing algorithms for the non-fair central daemon model.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. In this paper, the authors handle the infinitive type of English sentences in the English to Sanskrit machine translation (EST) system. The EST system is an integrated model of a rule-based approach of machine translation with Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model that translates an English sentence (source sentence) into the equivalent Sanskrit sentence (target sentence). The authors use feed forward ANN for the selection of Sanskrit words, such as nouns, verbs, objects, and adjectives, from English to Sanskrit User Data Vector (UDV). Due to morphological richness of Sanskrit, this system uses only morphological markings to identify Subject, Object, Verb, Preposition, Adjective, Adverb, Conjunctive and as well as an infinitive types of sentence. The performance evaluations of our EST system with different methods of MT evaluations are shown using a table.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-teams genetic-algorithm (MT-GA) hybrid developed toward extending the previous simplex-GA hybrids. The approach utilizes the simplex method as a united team and multi-teams collaboration and also competition search process in conjunction with the GAs. It is designed such that it has multi-teams with self-evolution (parallel applications of the simplex method), multi-teams communication and even mutual stimulation, and multi-teams survival competition as well as non-elite team breakup for individual relearning (with GAs) and re-forming the new teams. The extension of multi-teams GA thus provides the advantages and as previous simplex-GAs has been proved to outperform a number of other approaches. The experiments in this research show that the MT-GA generally outperforms the existing simplex-GAs for the indices of convergence rate (CPU time required), efficiency (number of function evaluations), and effectiveness (accuracy). Also, a further functional experiment of the MT-GA shows that the MT-GA can be a useful improved algorithm for the function optimization problems.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. A statistical process control chart is successfully integrated with wavelet transformation (WT) to detect R-wave locations. This chart is a graphical display of the quality characteristic measured or computed from samples versus the sample number or time from the production line in a factory. This research performed WT at the signal preprocessing stage; the change points and control limits are then determined for each segment and the R-wave location is rechecked by spreading the points at the decision stage. The proposed procedures determine the change points and control limits for each segment. This method can be used to eliminate high-frequency noise, baseline shifts and artifacts from ECG signals, and R-waves can be effectively detected. In addition, there is flexibility in parameter value selection and robustness over wider noise ranges for the proposed QRS detection method.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. Each experiment in Taguchi's orthogonal array (OA) is treated as a decision making unit (DMU) with multiple QCHs set as inputs or outputs. DMU's efficiency is measured then adopted as a performance measure to identify the combination of optimal factor levels. Three real case studies were employed for illustration in which the proposed approach provided the largest total anticipated improvements in multiple QCHs among other techniques such as principal component analysis (PCA) and DEA based ranking (DEAR) approach. Analysis of variance is finally employed to decide significant factor effects and to predict performance.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif.
