The paper considers the economic and commercial viability of important aspects of its discipline integrated to the other areas such as, very large scale integration (VLSI), data processing, information storage and material technologies, laser processing, robotics, quantum electronics, micro-controller technology mechanical and manufacturing engineering and transducer, PLC and its interfaces systems. The paper also highlights the required courses to be added to the mechatronics curriculum for experts from different interrelated areas such as mechanical and manufacturing, electronics, control and computer engineering and applied sciences.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. Today we have many modem compression algorithms that achieve very high compression rations without a perceivable loss in quality. The main objective of our work is to implement a state of art speech-coding algorithm CS-ACELP using ITU-T's G.729 recommendation and optimize it for real-time implementation on a very long instruction word (VLIW) digital signal processor (DSP) central processing unit (CPU).","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. The increase of performance comes with greater complexity. The colossal complexity of modern microprocessors is attributed to various factors such as multiple functional units, out-of-order execution, branch prediction etc. The design of such complex super-scalar processors requires the use of sophisticated software tools. To facilitate processor development, the design and implementation of a processor is typically paralleled by the design and implementation of a simulator that can be used to avoid errors in the development process. Designers use functional and performance simulators to validate the functionality and to assess the performance of the processor for a given application. In this paper, object-oriented design of a cycle accurate re-configurable simulator toolkit is presented to speed up the design cycle of DSP processors and to avoid incurring the cost involved in the development of processor specific simulators.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. An early diagnosis of DF is very important for a better prognosis. The DF and DHF clinical symptoms were studied from an expert system perspective, and represented in a tree-like structure amenable to expert system applications. It is envisaged that such a framework, automated through expert system rule-chaining technology will aid medical personnel to carry out DF and DHF diagnostic procedures accurately, faster and efficient.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings.
