Furthermore the different drive systems of absorption refrigeration machines and vapour-compression refrigeration machines are compared under the assumption of equal refrigeration capacity for all systems. However, consistent data storage and communication is not possible unless computing standards are defined. Otherwise, despite the deployment of individual systems, they would not be able to communicate among each other and therefore would be largely ineffective. This paper narrates the details of the recent efforts put into the evolution of one such standard, the code page for Urdu: Urdu Zabta Takhti (UZT) 1.01. However, the incident field on the sphere has not been considered a plane wave, rather these are the fields radiated from the Hertz dipole. A general solution of the fields scattered by the sphere has been sought, when the sphere is present in the near and far field of the Hertz dipole. These scattered fields have been obtained for spheres of two different radii in the near and far field of the Hertz dipole. Finally, it has been shown that when the sphere is in the far field of the Hertz dipole, the scattered electric fields in the theta and phi directions have the same pattern as the radiation patterns of the theta and phi electric fields of the Hertz dipole. When the sphere is closer to the dipole, the pattern of the scattered field components significantly deviate from the radiation pattern of the radial and theta electric fields of the Hertz dipole.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. Pattern recognition needs as basis knowledge about the object. The knowledge of object can be obtained by feature extraction with image processing tools. The success of any such practical system depends critically upon how far a set of appropriate numerical attributes or features can be extracted from the object of interest for the purpose of matching or recognition. In this paper, two different combinations of image features are proposed and their comparative results for trademarks recognition are discussed. The proposed features involve some simple ratios of the image pixels as well as some geometric moments. These features are invariant to translation, rotation and scaling. The goal was achieved by segmenting the image using a connected-component (nearest neighbours) algorithm. Then the features are used as inputs for a backpropagation neural network for the learning and matching tasks. The effectiveness of the proposed feature sets is tested with various trademarks, and the results are encouraging.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. It provides an adaptive mechanism which ensures that both the closed-loop poles and zeros are placed at their pre-specified positions. The proposed design overcomes the shortcomings of other designs by combining the robustness of classical control strategy of pole-zero placement with the flexibility of self-tuning generalised minimum variance control. It tracks set-point changes with the desired speed of response, penalises the excessive control action, and can be applied to non-minimum phase systems and unstable systems. Besides, at steady state, the controller has the ability to regulate the constant load disturbance to zero. Example simulation results using both simulated and real plant models demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. The popularity of this class of iterative methods in solving large sets of linear and non-linear equations as well as large eigenvalue problems stems from their relative simplicity and generality. Recognizing this property, the paper exploits and introduces the, new mathematical approach, Krylov subspace techniques and their use in the model reduction problem for large-scale systems. Various sensorless techniques are discussed and reviewed. A new sensorless algorithm for a synchronous reluctance motor drive is also presented. It is a parameters-dependent technique for estimating the rotor position on-line from the measurements of two-phase currents and applied voltages. To predict the intrinsic equivalent circuit parameters of the device from DC data, the measured DC characteristics are first simulated by employing a non-linear DC model. The effects of biasing on the device AC parameters are evaluated for low-noise applications. An improvement greater than 10% in predicting the AC response of the device is observed. The concept of depletion layer modification caused by the transverse electric field inside the channel is introduced for accurate Miller's capacitor modeling. It is assumed that with increased device biasing there are more unbalanced positive ionic charges in the gate depletion towards the drain-side of the Schottky barrier. The electric field lines originated by these uncompensated charges induce an opposite charge density in the gate electrode. This modifies the gate biasing and hence the Schottky barrier depletion. As a result, the values of intrinsic AC device parameters change. It is observed that accurate DC modeling is key to prediction of an accurate AC small signal equivalent circuit of a device.","PeriodicalId":286459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. Unicode provides a unique number for every character, no matter what the platform, no matter what the program, no matter what the language. The author has designed an editor titled \"A Multilingual Unicode Editor\" which can be used for numerous applications such as sending/receiving emails, web page development and chatting etc. The Unicode Organization was founded in 1991 to design and promote a universal, uniform, unique, unambiguous worldwide character-encoding standard. The Unicode Organization released its first version of standard, Unicode Standard 1.0 in the same year. The current version of the Unicode Standard contains 49,194 distinct coded characters. These characters cover principal written languages, and symbol systems of the world.
