An experiment originated from a real world engineering design problem is used to illustrate the accumulation process of novice engineers' empirical knowledge. Two questionnaires are used to test the influencing factors. Through statistics analysis and path analysis, the effects and relations of influencing factors in empirical knowledge accumulation of novice engineers are found. There is a group leader (GL) who manages the group members and group key in each group. In previous studies, selection of GL is seldom discussed, and a new GL is selected according to random numbers in most situations. In this paper, we propose a selecting model based on a trust rating-assessment mechanism to detail the problem of searching GL. Moreover, there are three layers regarding this model, which are record layer, experience layer and distance layer. Through filtering layer by layer, we confirm the only GL in the last layer. In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for fuzzy segmentation of infrared imaging data. The algorithm is realized by modifying the objective function in the fuzzy C-means with improved fuzzy partition(FCM-IFP) using a kernel-induced distance metric, namely, the original Euclidean distance in the FCM-IFP is replaced by a kernel-induced distance, and thus the corresponding algorithm is derived and called as the kernelized FCM-IFP (KFCM-IFP). This processing method not only can suppress the noise and the outliers, but also can prevent the over segmentation of infrared image even if the contrast between targets and background is insufficient. Especially the control system of water-jet propulsion is still in its primary stage. Therefore the overall scheme design of control system of water-jet propulsion was made with the single-machine single pump monohull as the research object. The selection of main engine and the water-jet propulsion pump was made. A mathematical model of the system was established on these bases. The PID controller of diesel engine speed and the speed fuzzy controller of water-jet propulsion system were designed. The overall system model was obtained on the MATLAB/SIMULINK platform. Firstly, we scrambled the original watermark image with Arnold transformation. Secondly, we transformed the original carrier image by discrete cosine transformation and chose some proper intermediate frequency coefficients based on human visual system. Thirdly, the processed watermark was embedded into these coefficients with spread-spectrum mechanism. Finally, the watermark was extracted by the blind detection and recovered by periodic Arnold transformation, which could authenticate digital works and protect the copyrights.
