Ukraine has chosen a course of EU integration, a decision that has significantly affected its political, cultural, and social life. Participation in Erasmus+ projects facilitates Ukraine`s rapid and effective introduction to EU sustainable education practices. The EULP project team consisted of Ukrainian and Lithuanian academicians who together developed the programme of the course, focusing on five target groups: graduate students, post-graduate students, high school teachers, researchers, and civil society representatives. The EULP’s sustainable and multidisciplinary approach combines linguistic and cultural competences necessary for Ukrainian citizens in view, joining the European Union in the future. Our observations demonstrate that an increasing number of educational courses that combine professional training with expanding knowledge about the EU facilitate the process of reforming and integrating Ukraine into the common EU education area.","PeriodicalId":285421,"journal":{"name":"Language Culture Politics International Journal","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139243613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tematy te wciąż budzą wiele emocji w polskim dyskursie publicznym. Kwestia postawy polskiego społeczeństwa wobec Zagłady jest także bardzo często podejmowana w debatach politycznych. Na potrzeby polityki historycznej dochodzi do zniekształcania historii, uwypuklania jednych faktów i przemilczania bądź zakłamywania innych. Mity funkcjonujące w pamięci zbiorowej bardzo trudno z niej usunąć co zostało pokazane na przykładzie narracji powstających wokół postaci Ireny Sendlerowej i Jana Karskiego, a także wydarzeń odzwierciedlających skalę przemocy antyżydowskiej po zakończeniu II wojny światowej (np. pogromu kieleckiego).","PeriodicalId":285421,"journal":{"name":"Language Culture Politics International Journal","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139243831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Translation is the only method allowing for their global dissemination. Religions, literatures, learning theories and organizational cultures are “products” of translation. Yet, the relevance of translation is not only a matter of the past. It is argued in this article that translation is relevant today. In its educational aspect, translation can help realize that language differences are a resource in text comprehension and meaning making. Professional benefits of translating include language fluency that is more than a technical skill: it enables recognising nuances of meaning and sense, allowing for realistic language use. It can be a core advantage for specialists in creative industry, for industry analysts and for lots of other professionals engaging in cross-cultural interactions. Finally, being a translator one has a transversal competence of service provision.","PeriodicalId":285421,"journal":{"name":"Language Culture Politics International Journal","volume":"253 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139245018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nonetheless it is of particular importance to the thought of both the Lublin School of Metaphysics and the thought of Karol Wojtyła. This work aims to build a bridge between these two philosophical positions, and thus define the similarities between them and the influence of the former on the position of the latter, specifically with regards to their views concerning culture. Analysis is made of texts which directly reference certain positions regarding culture, with particular terms being analyzed and compared. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the information resilience of Ukraine before and during Russia’s aggression. Information resilience is considered in close connection with information security, with the correlations between them being revealed and the main constituent elements of these phenomena being determined. The authors analyse the communication aspects of information resilience, not taking into account the purely technological perspective of cyberspace protection but concentrating on measures aimed at blocking and disavowing the hostile information content that affects the cognitive stability of Ukrainian citizens.","PeriodicalId":285421,"journal":{"name":"Language Culture Politics International Journal","volume":"101 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139245485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conducted research was guided by the following assumption: the meaning of Biblical texts is directly related to pragmatism but despite similarities and differences between the analyzed versions of the Bible, it is possible to find such divergences in relation not only to pragmatics but to semantics, as well. This article is preoccupied with analysis of the structure of the Bible, ways of its translation, the most popular English and Polish versions of Holy Scripture, and the ways in which some words have been translated. The paper has been written on the basis of Biblical source materials, the literature of the discipline, and journals as well as with the help of WWW and ORG websites, that deal with the Bible and its translation. The research method employed is strictly comparative and applied to juxtapose equivalent English and Polish words as used in the Bible.","PeriodicalId":285421,"journal":{"name":"Language Culture Politics International Journal","volume":"63 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139244040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It determines how we exchange ideas, express emotions and see the world. And as such, language has always been a motor for enlightenment and progress, but also a means of control. It expresses our identity, and that identity takes multiple forms, affecting and shaping our values and priorities, how we view the world and those around us. They also determine the language we use - and this, not surprisingly, often becomes a source of political, social, cultural and ideological struggle. It also explains why, over the course of history, the wielders of power have sought to restrict or alter the use of language - by controlling education, culture, social customs, awareness of history and perceptions of identity. Poles have their own experience of this from the time of the Partitions, when imperial rulers attempted to curb transmission of the Polish language. Yet the efforts are being witnessed today, notably in Russia's portrayal of events in Ukraine. Are there grounds for thinking struggles over language have become more extreme today, in the face of new ideological and social pressures, as powerful and well-resourced lobbies and interest-groups manipulate the confusion and self-doubt of the majority to advance their own agendas? If so, we should remind ourselves that the spread of permissive, self-willed Western mindsets is very far from universal. Indeed, such mindsets are widely contested; and while social media and mass culture have been used as vehicles for promoting radical change, they are also being used increasingly as channels for a more integral, conservative vision of the world and humanity. We need to think and speak with critical precision, with a healthy empirical scepticism - and reject the lazy reliance on epithets, categorisations, stereotypes and simplifications which the new ideological orthodoxies so often rely upon.","PeriodicalId":285421,"journal":{"name":"Language Culture Politics International Journal","volume":"46 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139242761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
