Industri perfileman di Sabah tidak cukup besar jika dibandingkan dengan industri filem di Semenanjung Malaysia. Namun begitu, terdapat beberapa isu serta cabaran yang terpaksa dihadapi oleh golongan ini. Sebelum COVID-19 melanda dunia, industri filem di Sabah masih berada pada tahap yang sederhana jika dibandingkan dengan Semenanjung Malaysia. Keadaan bertambah buruk apabila dunia dilanda COVID-19 yang banyak menjejaskan sumber pendapatan pekerja belakang tabir mahupun industri filem di Malaysia khususnya Sabah. Justeru, kajian ini akan meneliti strategi yang boleh diketengahkan dan membantu pekerja belakang tabir dalam menghadapi cabaran semasa dan selepas pandemik ini. Bagi mencari jalan penyelesaian terhadap permasalahan ini, pengkaji telah melakukan sesi temu bual terhadap beberapa pengarah dan pekerja belakang tabir di negeri Sabah serta menganalisis data menerusi dapatan maklumat dari pelbagai sudut. Analisis mendapati bahawa terdapat perbezaan tahap bayaran tenaga kerja serta penangguhan bayaran antara isu yang harus diberi perhatian. Hal ini menyebabkan kurangnya motivasi dalam menghasilkan karya yang lebih bermutu. Akhirnya, sesebuah karya kreatif menjadi kurang menarik dan tidak memberi kesan kepada audiens. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat juga bantuan yang tidak putus dari kerajaan pusat khususnya Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Malaysia (FINAS) yang menjadi pendorong dalam membantu pekerja belakang tabir untuk terus berkarya dan bertahan. \u0000 \u0000Background labourers in Malaysia, particularly in Sabah, require special consideration. This is due to several concerns that emerged and were found during investigation. In comparison to Peninsular Malaysia, the film industry in Sabah is insufficiently large. Nonetheless, this community is going to have to deal with several problems and obstacles. Prior to the release of COVID-19, the film industry in Sabah was still relatively small in comparison to Peninsular Malaysia. The situation exacerbated whenthe globe was confronted with COVID-19, which severely impacted the revenue of behind-the-scenes labor and the Malaysian film business, particularly in Sabah. Consequently, this study will investigate ways that can be highlighted and utilised to aid employees in the background in tackling obstacles during and after the epidemic. To discover a solution to this issue, the researcher conducted interviews with a number of directors and behind-the-scenes employees in the state of Sabah and examined the data by gathering information from multiple perspectives. Among the issues that require special consideration, the investigation uncovered a disparity in labour payment rates and payment delays. This decreases motivation to produce higher-quality work. The sunduk maker has such a high level of creativity that it is able to translate every element of nature around it into a form and pattern that is so unique and able to be conveyed visually to the community. The unique elements of life and beauty are translated through geometric and organic patterns engraved on each of the sunduk planes. The pattern on the exterior carving is used as a decoration and has an implicit meaning and can be understood through visual research. The effectiveness of the patterns is manifested when it is able to stand up for itself and tell a story without a voice. Patterns from the elements of the daily objects are also able to reinforce the story to be conveyed such as tasbih, keris, bujak and the crescent emblem as well as other decorative accessories. As a result, the sunduk maker cannot be different from the elements of manhood and femininity because the sunduk through life and her story as a man and woman will go through the twists and turns of her life as a woman. Most Rungus people reside in the administrative Districts of Kudat and Pitas of northern Sabah. In Rungus culture, many different genres of intangible cultural heritage, including traditional secular folk songs, have been passed down orally over generations. An important category of longoi tanganak (children’s songs) is longoi dot pongizap (counting songs). The author collected 87 Rungus longoi tanganak from Kudat and Pitas Districts. This paper discusses the longoi dot pongizap from a detailed study that aimed to (a) document and transcribe the longoi dot pongizap of Rungus from the field that are recalled by the older people, and (b) analyse the musical characteristics of the collected longoi dot pongizap, and provide recommendations for connecting the Rungus longoi dot pongizap with the principles of Kodály. This research employed ethnographic field techniques including participant observation, in-depth and focus group interviews, as well as audio and video recording. The musical transcriptions of selected songs were then analysed using the Kodály Folk Song Analysis. Istilah magahau membawa pengertian sebagai berpesta, mengadakan keramaian atau mengadakan kenduri. Kehidupan seharian etnik Rungus dahulu terikat dengan amalan kepercayaan tradisi, adat istiadat dan pantang larang yang telah diwarisi. Dengan demikian, perayaan magahau hanya akan dijalankan setelah semua upacara ritual selesai dilakukan. Etnik Rungus mempercayai bahawa amalan penyertaan upacara ritual dalam perayaan magahau adalah penting bagi tujuan keselamatan dan perlindungan mereka daripada gangguan kuasa ghaib. Bagaimanapun, etnik Rungus tidak lagi meneruskan amalan dan kepercayaan ini bersesuaian dengan perubahan kehidupan semasa etnik Rungus. Kajian seumpama ini penting sebagai usaha memelihara warisan ini untuk rujukan generasi akan datang. \u0000 \u0000Magahau is a traditional celebration renowned by the Rungus community in Kudat district, Sabah. The term magahau carries the meaning of partying, holding a crowd or having a feast. The daily life of the Rungus ethnicity was once tied to the practice of traditional beliefs, customs and even taboos that had been inherited. Thus, the magahau will only be carried out after all the ritual ceremonies have been performed. Ethnic Rungus believes that the practice of ritual ceremonial participation in the magahau festival is important for the purpose of their safety and protection from the interference of supernatural forces. However, the Rungus ethnicity no longer continues with this practice and belief is in line with the changing life during the Rungus ethnicity. Through ethnographic studies, this study analyzed the belief system and practices of Rungus ethnic traditions through magahau performances. The results of observations and analysis have found that the transition of life of the Rungus community has changed the concept of magahau, from ritual ceremonies to crowd parties. Selain itu, kajian ini mengenal pasti bentuk tugasan yang boleh diubah suai mengikut situasi pendemik agar tidak terlalu membebankan pelajar. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian kes untuk Kursus Rekacipta Busana dengan penglibatan secara langsung 47 pelajar yang menyertai kursus ini. Kaedah pungutan data menggunakan borang kaji selidik melalui Google form, pemerhatian dan temu bual secara informal pelajar yang mengikuti sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil kajian mendapati pengajar mengubah komponen penilaian dalam bentuk tugasan praktikal yang disesuaikan dengan situasi pandemik COVID-19. Melalui pengubahsuaian ini, pelajar berupaya menyiapkan dan menghantar tugasan secara maya dalam bentuk tugasan separa-praktikal yang lebih ringan berbanding tugasan asal dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran bersemuka. Kaedah pembelajaran dan pengajaran secara maya perlu diteruskan apabila keadaan kembali seperti sediakala daripada krisis pandemik ini. Ia boleh dijadikan sebagai satu alternatif khas untuk pelajar yang mempunyai kekangan untuk menghadiri kuliah bersemuka atas faktor kesihatan sekiranya disyaki membawa penyakit berjangkit yang memerlukan mereka diisolasi seperti terkena jangkitan virus COVID-19.\u0000 \u0000This paper discussed the challenges faced by students dan lecturer in skills-based courses on virtual teaching and learning activities in the pandemic of COVID-19. Students constantly struggle to adjust to learning modes that have shifted dramatically from face-to-face to virtual learning due to external reasons such as Internet access limitations. This inadvertently obstructs students' ability to comprehend the technological nature of learning in virtual lectures.This study aims to identify the main constraints in virtual learning and teaching faced by students and the instructor in this course. This study identifies the modification of assignments to reduce students’ burden in the pandemic situation of online teaching and learning activities. This study uses the case study method for the Fashion Design Course with the involvement of 47 students who participated in this course. Tempoh 50 tahun bagi seni visual Malaysia boleh dianggap berada pada tahap matang dan perlu dinilai secara serius (Zain, 2009). Aktiviti seni visual saling berhubung kait dengan perubahan-perubahan sosial yang berlaku sama ada lokal mahupun perubahan global. Karya yang terhasil mampu menjadi cerminan kepada perubahan sosial yang berlaku dalam masyarakat dan perlu difahami secara mendalam. Dalam menganalisis sesebuah karya seni, adalah penting untuk tidak terus memberikan, huraian sebaliknya perlu menyesuaikan diri dengannya terlebih dahulu (Hauser, 1959). Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti hubungan karya seni dan perubahan sosial berdasarkan teori sosiologi Arnold Hauser (1959). Dua karya dari Bakat Muda Sezaman (BMS) akan dijadikan sampel bagi merungkai aspek “bentuk” dan “makna” berpandukan teori kritikan seni Feldman (1994). Hasil perbincangan akan menjelaskan perubahan sosial yang berlaku dan kesannya terhadap karya seni visual BMS.\u0000 \u0000Malaysia’s visual arts journey continues to evolve as a result of the efforts of old artists and new talents from various generations, racial and religious backgrounds, and different educations. The period of 50 years of Malaysian visual arts can be considered to be at a mature stage and needs to be seriously evaluated (Zain, 2009). Visual arts activities are interrelated with social changes that occur both locally and globally. The resulting work is able to be a reflection of the social changes taking place in society and needs to be understood in depth. In analyzing a work of art, it is important not to continue to give a description should it be necessary to adapt to it first (Hauser, 1959). This study aimed to identify the relationship of artwork and social change based on the sociological theory of Arnold Hauser (1959). Two works from Contemporary Young Talent (BMS) will be used as samples to unravel the aspects of \"form\" and \"meaning\" based on the theory of art criticism Feldman (1994). Kumpulan sasaran kajian ini terdiri daripada 25 orang murid dari kelas Tahun 4 Seroja di Sekolah Kebangsaan Senadin, Miri, Sarawak. Data-data dikumpul melalui pemerhatian, ujian pra dan pos serta soal selidik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan peningkatan yang ketara dalam penghasilan catan daun pokok selepas guru seni menggunakan teknik titik dengan mengaplikasikan penggunaan cotton bud dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Data soal selidik menunjukkan responden setuju bahawa penggunaan putik kapas dapat meningkatkan kaedah mewarna daun pokok mereka dengan pencapaian purata hanya 25 peratus. Namun selepas penggunaaan putik kapas, data meningkat kepada 94 peratus. Perbezaan sebelum dan selepas tindakan adalah sebanyak 69 peratus. Di samping itu, analisis dokumen terhadap ujian pra dan pos juga menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan cotton bud dapat meningkatkan kaedah mewarna daun pokok murid-murid Tahun 4 Seroja. Murid yang menunjukkan peningkatan terhadap kaedah mewarna daun pokok sebelum tindakan berada di kategori sangat lemah, lemah dan sederhana. Namun selepas tindakan, hasil karya murid mencapai keputusan yang cemerlang. Oleh itu, penggunaan cotton bud melalui teknik titik telah berjaya meningkatkan minat mereka terhadap pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Malah, mereka juga berasa seronok dan ceria sepanjang masa pengajaran dan pembelajaran berjalan. Keputusan analisis menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan cotton bud dalam teknik titik adalah satu teknik yang berkesan untuk meningkatkan kualiti hasil kerja catan daun pokok murid Tahun 4 Seroja semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran.\u0000 \u0000This action research was undertaken to assist students in 4 Seroja in improving the method of coloring tree leaves in point technique with the use of a cotton bud. The target group of this study consisted of 25 students from the class of 4 Seroja in Sekolah Kebangsaan Senadin, Miri, Sarawak. Data collected through observation, pre and post tests, analysis of documents and questionnaires. The analysis showed a significant increase in painting technique using a cotton bud after teachers use pointelisme techniques in teaching and learning. Results of the questionnaire indicate that the respondents agree that the use of cotton buds can increase the method of coloring tree leaves them only 25%. However after the action, it increased to 94%. The difference before and after the action was 69%. In addition, analysis of documents on pre and post tests also showed that the use of cotton buds can improve the method of coloring tree leaves pupils in Year 4. Students who show an improvement in the method of coloring tree leaves before action is in the category of very poor and poor. It aims to analyse the symbolism of animal characters as a visual metaphor in the Malaysian animated film. This paper is based on research using the Semiotic Saussure Theory in analysing the data. This paper records that cultural factors and knowledge of myths, beliefs and social differences as key aspects of symbolism application can be applied into new media, especially in the field of animation. Ironinya, karya Noordin Hassan bersandarkan konsep teater fitrah yang mengetengahkan unsur tradisi budaya Melayu seperti politik, ekonomi dan masyarakat. Sehubungan dengan itu, karya beliau dikenali dengan membawa aliran absurd, avant-garde, dan surealisme. Namun, beliau telah mencetuskan satu fenomena baharu dalam teater fitrah dan memperkenalkan prinsip berkonsepkan teater Islam. Oleh hal yang demikian, penulisan ini akan menganalisis dan mengenal pasti model teater fitrah terhadap sebuah karya drama Tiang Seri Tegak Berlima (TSTB) hasil penulisan Noordin Hassan. Kajian ini merupakan kajian analisis teks dan akan menganalisis skrip drama Tiang Seri Tegak Berlima yang tidak memperkatakan aspek pementasan. Hasil kajian mendapati dalam konteks teater fitrah, nilai-nilai Islam mewarnakan struktur, bentuk, dan bahasa teater. Dengan itu, karya tersebut dikatakan bertatasusilakan Islam dan indah berseni yang membentuk model teater fitrah. \u0000 \u0000Interpretation of Noordin Hassan's usually shows religious and social elements in determining the framework in human nature. Ironically, Noordin Hassan’s principles by Noordin Hassan focused concept of fitrah theater which highlights elements of Malay cultural traditions such as politics, economics and society. Accordingly, his work is known for bringing a flow of absurd, avant-garde, and surrealism. However, he has sparked a phenomenon with fitrah theater and introduced the conceptual principles of Islamictheater. Therefore, this writing will analyze and identify the natural theater model of a drama work Tiang Seri Tegak Berlima (TSTB) written by Noordin Hassan. This study is a text analysis study and will analyze the script of the drama Tiang Seri Tegak Berlimawhich does not deal with the staging aspect. The results of the study found that in the context of fitrah theater, Islamic values colour the structure, form, and language of theater.
