Our purpose in this paper is to apply an interactive classroom methodology that allows the use of social networks, as well as cell phone software technology. The aim is to make technology tools into pedagogical ones which improve the teaching- learning process. The methodology was applied at master's level classrooms. There is interaction, improvement and an increase in knowledge about the topic that is being studied using this technique. Both connectivity and learning strategies can be used to obtain a better performance of the students and ensure full use of the class. This study is a contribution to the first test of combining technology in a multimodal classroom. It is a proposal that is currently under evaluation. However, conclusions and future works show that pedagogical technology when applied correctly in a classroom can work effectively.","PeriodicalId":282396,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Interactive Mobile Communication, Technologies and Learning (IMCL)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121336931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the number of lab tests to be performed is very large and with many experimental steps. Taking advantage of the easy access to mobile devices on the part of the students, it was proposed that through a mobile application it would be easier for them to track an analytical march of cations interactively and in a guided way. The use of the application in the lectures stimulated not only collaborative work but also the use of mobile technologies for learning basic sciences. In the laboratory, this technology reduced the average time of practices and contributed to an important reduction in reagent losses in the assays and to improve the number of hits regarding problem samples.","PeriodicalId":282396,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Interactive Mobile Communication, Technologies and Learning (IMCL)","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132720643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The instructor may ask for students' opinion, their ideas and whether they agree or disagree on a given problem or statement, without getting any feedback. However, some students have communication difficulties, and those who can have the correct answer may feel uncomfortable, and therefore the class will miss a good learning opportunity. Our objective is to create real-time multiple choice question system with an interactive and fun learning environment to increase the productivity of the maximum number of students.","PeriodicalId":282396,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Interactive Mobile Communication, Technologies and Learning (IMCL)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117169001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, its use is not widespread in the teaching of Physical Therapy. This discipline is mainly manual in nature but there are subject areas such as Electrotherapy in which the direct manipulation of an electronic device is required for a proper learning of the therapy procedures. This is only possible during laboratory classes; thus autonomous learning is restricted. A recurrent complaint of students is that they only can study the matter in a theoretical way (with textbooks or using notes taken during the sessions) while in contrast their practical skills are evaluated in the exams. This is because they do not have the expensive equipment used in Electrotherapy and the access to teaching devices is restricted to the laboratory hours. The main objective of this work is the development and implementation of a mobile application that simulates the manipulation of clinical devices used in Electrotherapy with the aim of improving learning in this subject area of Physical Therapy. The secondary objectives are: to assess the impact of the application (satisfaction from students and learning outcomes) and to analyze if the application could serve as a reliable method for evaluating students' knowledge of the electrotherapy techniques.","PeriodicalId":282396,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Interactive Mobile Communication, Technologies and Learning (IMCL)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116355165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The motivation for the app comes from recent literature that indicates that women and students of color are less likely to participate in class, either to ask or answer questions [1][2]. As a result of this “shyness” - for lack of a better word - teachers often assume these students are not as engaged in the material, and the students either lose interest in the subject or fall behind their peers. The app can help with engagement in two ways. In this paper, we will share our preliminary results and detail the design and implementation of Kizzle.","PeriodicalId":282396,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Interactive Mobile Communication, Technologies and Learning (IMCL)","volume":"26 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134392585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However there is limited knowledge on the extent and precise usage of mobile phones by women entrepreneurs for accessing market information. Hence to address this gap, the goal of this paper is to investigate the usage of mobile technology for accessing market information by women entrepreneurs in Iringa, Tanzania. The study employs a mixed research approach characterized by quantitative and qualitative methods in order to obtain a holistic view on the issues, shortcomings and advantage that the usage of mobile phone for accessing market information can represent to the women entrepreneurs of the region. Interviews were conducted using semi-structured questionnaires to collect quantitative data, while in-depth interviews were used for qualitative data collection. Convergent parallel mixed method was used as a technique for summarizing objective evaluation and interpretation of findings. Results indicate that, contrary to prior research reports, mobile phones are not used as enablers by the women entrepreneurs of our study in accessing market information that is relevant to their business. Our work puts forward a plausible solution of designing a specialized virtual platform for accessing market information and expand business networks of the target user.","PeriodicalId":282396,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Interactive Mobile Communication, Technologies and Learning (IMCL)","volume":"93 20","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113944002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
