It was shown to be a convenient method to fabricate uniform coatings of CNT with desired thickness by changing voltage, electrophoresis time and inter electrode distance. Currently, CNT counter electrodes are lower conversion efficiency than that of Pt counter electrodes, and it needs to improve conversion efficiency as much as possible. We found that when we fabricated CNT counter electrodes at 500°C, both conversion efficiency and surface area obtained the best result. In this study, we examined that when we controlled film thickness by using EPD, how it would affect the conversion efficiency. We fixed DC voltage at 15V and controlled film thickness from 5μm to 20μm. After that, we sintered it at 500°C and measured the conversion efficiency. As experimental results, we achieved the highest efficiency at 10μm and 2.4 % .","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125830163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, quantitative studies on the relationship between the antitumor effect and liposomal characteristics will help to optimize the clinical application of Doxil in cancer treatment. Herein, we develop a physiological model to compute the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of Doxil, to calculate the time course of free Dox in the tumor space and linked this with a cell-killing kinetic model to quantify its anticancer effect. In this research, the two models utilize parametric figures of drug transportation in anatomical compartments, including plasma, capillary, interstitial, and tumor cells, to simulate the relationships between intravenously injected Dox and Doxil. Furthermore, simulations are performed to discuss the relationship between the anticancer effect and physicochemical properties, by comparing pharmacological parameters of Doxil.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115532419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The training set has been built based on typical, for this problem, feature space: predicted solvent accessibilities and predicted secondary structures. To show that oversampling negative class improves prediction accuracy we have built two predictors that are based on neural networks and decision trees, respectively. The influence of the size of the non-contact class in the training set has been analyzed. We have observed that significantly better results are obtained when the size of the non-contact class is at least 4 times larger than contact class, while the optimal oversampling depends on the type of contacts and learning algorithm used. Our final predictor - PLCT – took part in CASP11 where in one of the category took 3th place. Here we present a multi-layer task model based on the concept of Virtual Sensors in order to improve design reusability and architecture modularity. Virtual sensor networks (VSNs) is an emerging form of collaborative wireless sensor networks. Virtual Sensors are abstractions of components of BSN systems that involve sensor sampling and tasks processing and issues data upon external requests. The model of virtual sensor implementation depends on SPINE2, which is an open source domain-specific framework that is developed to support distributed sensing operations and processing of signal for wireless sensor networks and enables code efficiency, reusability and application interoperability. This proposed model is applied in the framework of gait analysis through wearable sensors. According to SPINE2basedVirtual Sensor architecture a gait analysis system is developed and it is experimentally evaluated. The results obtained confirm that great value can be achieved to design and implement BSN applications through the Virtual Sensor approach at the same time maintaining high efficiency and accuracy.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129282854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: Parasitological examination was carried out on stool samples from 500 participants using formol ether concentration methods whose age ranges between 5 to >30 years. Results: Finding shows that 271 [54.2%] were positive for intestinal parasitic infections. Males recorded higher prevalence than the females with 85.4%, and 14.6% respectively. Predominant intestinal parasites identified in this study are Entamoeba coli, Hookworms, Entamoeba histolytica, and Ascaris lumbricoides with 17.0%, 6.6%, 6.2% and 5.0% prevalence, respectively. Conclusion: Intestinal parasites continue to remain a serious public health problem in North-western Nigeria. Low level of education, occupational status seems to be among significant risk factors for these infections. Creating awareness, level of sanitation, water supply and deworming programme among school children will reduce prevalence and intensity of parasitic infections among the study community.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"2014 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128063480","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These are due to its recurrent tendency and the difficulty of its early diagnosis. Cancer cell floating around in blood (CTC; Circulating Tumor Cell) is one of the causes of cancer recurrence. On the other hand, CTC shows the specific microRNA (miRNA) unlike normal cells. The miR221 and miR155 are representatives of miRNA in pancreatic cancer. Therefore, the detection of miRNA could be an effective tool for predicting metastasis and recurrence of cancer. MiRNA requires quite sensitive detection methods because of their status as very small amount in blood and its complex structure. This study employs a molecular torch technique for miR221 and miR155. Molecular beacon probe applied to miRNA molecules represents the fluorescence signals. The probe can detect miRNA by even the only one per 10 μ l both in animal studies and in vitro experiments. For easier and faster diagnosis of cancer it requires supports from doctors and technical equipments. The study constructed and proposed a specific data sharing system to link the probe with an IoT-application applicable to the real life.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128144842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influence of substrate type, quantity and pretreatment, together with temperature regime on biomethane production was estimated. Both substrates generated higher biogas yields at the higher temperature regime and after pretreatment. The organic loading of 35 g/L was found to be most appropriate. The obtained liquid phase of anaerobic digestate was utilized as medium to maintain and enhance green microalgal growth. The ability of microalgae to photosynthetically fix carbon dioxide producing various biologically active substances, their short growth cycle and easy accummulation of biomass was involved. Due to their ability to colonize different environments these microorganisms represent promising sources for new products and applications. Good growth and development was observed for the microalga Scenedesmus acutus in digestate after adsorption with active carbon, using the macro and micronutrients present. This approach may lead to reducing costs and environmental impacts. Accumulated algal biomass (5 g/L) was afterwards introduced back in the reactor, realizing twice increased quantity of biogas on the second day of the anaerobic digestion process","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123922782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the Nagoya Protocol will affect the biotechnology industry, industry awareness of the protocol is still fairly low. In this paper, we introduce the Nagoya Protocol, investigate the levels of awareness about the protocol, and analyze its expected impact on the biotechnology industry. The results show that companies in the biopharmaceutical field and the health functional food field are likely to be relatively highly impacted. Although the Nagoya Protocol may increase legal certainty and transparency, participants in companies have voiced concerns that it will negatively affect firms’ innovation performance by leading to increased costs and complexity of obtaining genetic resources. This study suggests that procedures for accessing genetic resources should be clearly and transparently certified. ","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"139 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124887486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
