Recent studies focusing on radiomic features locally computed on muscle heads or bone marrow segmentations require precise corrections of the bias field and the distortion. Our results suggest that classically used rigid registration are not optimal for such fine study and that deformable registration should be preferred to limit significant error in radiomic feature extraction. However, from our experiments on our data, no significant change in radiomic statistic is observed whatever segmentation correction approach was applied. This indicates that radiomic features are not sensitive to segmentation refinement when considering large 3D regions.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"5 11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126982236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Saccharomyces and lactobacillus are the major genera found in the kefir drink. The present work involves the isolation and identification of potential probiotic yeast strains in the kefir drink samples from Malaysia. The molecular identification was done by PCR using ITS1 and ITS4 amplified regions. Nine different yeast strains were isolated, and the strains were successfully identified based on the sequence analysis. Saccharomyces and Kodamaea were found to be the major population in the kefir drink samples. Lastly, kefir milk is one of the excellent sources of probiotic yeast strains and could be used as a new yeast probiotic formulation or in food supplements. Moreover, the amplification of ITS region can be used as a useful method to identified yeast strains.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123246225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sw. (D. esculentum) extraction. The method was based on the complex formed between tetracycline and iron(III), characterized by an absorption maximum at 430 nm using UV-Visible spectrophotometry. From the statistical data analysis by Response Surface Methodology (RMS), The Box-Behnken design was used for optimizing pH, volume of natural reagents and reaction time that affected the tetracycline determination. The results show that, the model fitted well (R = 99.79%). The optimum condition obtained from the equation were as follows: pH, 5; volume of natural reagent, 2.00 mL at any time. In addition, reaction time was not statistically significant. Comparing the sensitivity of the complex formed between tetracycline and iron(III) from the equation to the real experiment, it was found that they were nearly equal which indicate that RSM is an appropriate method to optimize tetracycline determination. Under the optimum conditions, a linear calibration curve was obtained over the range of 1.00–20.00 mg L. Limit of detection (defined as 3σ) was 0.22 mg L and limit of quantification (defined as 10σ) was 2.15 mg L. The relative standard deviation of 3.43% for determining 10.00 mg L of tetracycline (n=11) are obtained. The recommended method has been applied to the quantitation of tetracycline in pharmaceutical samples.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132102571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) is considered as main contributor. We recruited clinically diagnosed 21 hypercholesterolemia families from Punjab-Pakistan. High resolution melting analysis used to screen the LDLR gene (all exons and promoter region) and variations were confirmed by restriction fragment length polymorphism and sequencing analysis. The mean of total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol in the FH patients was 7.5±1.4mmol/l and 5.2±1.5mmol/l respectively. Seven patients showed synonymous variations in the sequence at position c.81T>C, c.993C>T, c.1413G>A, c.1617C>T, c.1725C>.T, c.1959T>C and c.2232A>G while one carried the non-synonymous change c.1171G>A resulting in the non-pathogenic p.(A391T) amino acid change. One common non-pathogenic variant c.1060+10C>G was found in the intronic region. In-silico analysis predicted c.1725C>T, c.1959T>C and c.2232A>G to be affecting the LDLR protein, by altering splicing sites as predicted by Human Splicing Finder and Mutation Taster software. Our findings suggest that ~15% (3/21) of FH patients in Pakistan with no detectable mis-sense mutation may carry pathogenic splicing variants in the LDLR gene sequence.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115216066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The heartwood is utilized as firewood. There are studies on its medicinal use, but its potential as control to cockroach is not yet explored. This research was undertaken to determine what concentration of seed ethanol extract (SSEE) will control cockroach. Result of this study is beneficial to rural and urban areas where cockroaches are abundant. It is most beneficial in places where Sappan seeds are just thrown away, which can be used as potential source of insecticide from plants. Experimental research method with four treatments and 80 experimental animals was used. SSEE was macerated in 95% ethanol. Eghty cockroaches were assigned in four groups/treatments, with 20 cockroaches per treatment. They were exposed to different concentrations as; T0% SSEE, T1, 25% SSEE, T2, 50% SSEE, and T3, 75% SSEE. Gathered data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Fisher Least Significant Difference test (LSD). Findings of the study revealed that highest percentage of mortality after 48 hours observation, was obtained from treatment three (75 %percent SSEE). Based on this result Sappan seeds ethanol extract has a significant potential in the control of cockroaches specifically at higher concentration.","PeriodicalId":281523,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharma Medicine and Biological Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130023293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
