By detecting the temporal information (TI), it is able to design the proper parameters which can be used in the application of video quality evaluation. Nowadays, the conventional method is to calculate the RMS (root mean square) energy of the temporal gradient. Its workload would enhance greatly when the number of the pixel in image had increased. The paper proposed a new algorithm by calculating the histogram of the temporal gradient. It would increase the efficiency three times more than the conventional one while have the similar performance. The algorithm was so simple and feasible that it could be used for the application of video quality assessment.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133891528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Discussing the Euler algorithm, the midpoint algorithm, the Four-ord Runge-Kutta algorithm and adaptive Runge-Kutta algorithm, when they are under the same condition, it is found that each algorithm has its own characteristics, and the adaptive Runge-Kutta algorithm can make the cloth to achieve the system balance in a shorter time. This algorithm is accurate and effective, it is an ideal method to simulate flexible cloths, and it provides a new solution to realize the computer dynamic simulation of flexible cloths.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125971960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The radiating element of the proposed antenna is composed of an octagonal patch fed by a 50 ohm microstrip. It has a very compact size of 30mm×25mm, which can be integrated easily with other RF front-end circuits. The antenna parameters and performances have been investigated through a large amount of EM simulations. It has been demonstrated that the proposed antenna provides an ultra wide bandwidth from 3.1GHz to 14.5GHz, completely covering the range set by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) for UWB operations (3.1GHz to 10.6GHz). It also enjoys advantages such as low profile, low cost, high gain and satisfactory radiation characteristics.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123709143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Semantic role labeling views a sentence as a predicate-arguments structure, which provides an alternative perspective for the boundary detection and type recognition of nominal entity. In this paper, we propose a nominal entity recognition method with semantic role labeling. First, a Maximum Entropy (ME) model is trained on unlabeled data to address the data sparse problem in acquiring the preferences for each pair of predicate and argument. Then, use the information of semantic role labeling as features in a high quality nominal entity model. The experiments on ACE 2004 Chinese data show that the proposed method improves the performance of the high quality nominal entity recognizer, and achieves higher accuracy and recall rate.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126312667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This architecture is scalable and suitable for heterogeneous and homogeneous wireless sensor networks, supports single or multiple sinks, and also provides features increasely-demanded in the current applications such as fault tolerance and bounded-time response communications. All these features make EDETA suitable for the implementation of safety applications such as a wireless fire detection system. The proposed protocol is able to auto-configure, and it is based on two-levels hieratical architecture. The lower level is based on cluster organization, while the upper one is formed as a dynamic tree of clusters heads to send the data to the sink. A wireless fire detection system based on EDETA has been implemented, obtaining very satisfactory results about the reliability, response time and the consumption, the implemented system based on EDETA reduce the energy consumption in a factor of 8x compared with most popular power-aware protocols. Furthermore, EDETA multiplies the lifetime of the sensor network while providing, in addition, extra-features such as fault-tolerant mechanisms and bounded time.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134033272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the view of DRS multiplexing method, DRS overhead and DRS location, the DRS pattern design was analyzed in detail. Based on the analysis, a novel method with overhead of 12 DRS per physical resource block (PRB) and placing the DRS on the edge of each PRB was proposed. The link level simulation results showed that the pattern designed with this method provided the best performance of throughput in most of occasions among the candidate patterns.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132968180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are two competing objectives presented to determine where to place the sensor nodes, the coverage rate and the number of working nodes. And then As another new contribution, we apply the novel algorithm in the K-disjoint coverage sets problem, which divides all the sensors into K-disjoint sets, guaranteeing each set with complete coverage. This method can improve the capability of search and convergence of algorithm. By alternating coverage subsets and using only one at each round, the maximum network lifetime is achieved.
