One of the strategic priorities of the Russian domestic policy is to increase life expectancy to 78 and 80 years in 2024 and 2030, respectively. High mortality from curable diseases that contributes to the decrease in life expectancy in the Krasnoyarsk Territory can be associated with low access to timely medical care. The current policy in the economic and social spheres should contribute to reducing mortality from curable diseases, which ultimately should result in the increased life expectancy. The purpose of the study is to analyze dynamics in contribution of mortality from curable diseases to the decrease in life expectancy in the Krasnoyarsk Territory to evaluate the current situation and identify prospects for increasing life expectancy. Material and methods. Contribution to the decrease in life expectancy was calculated according to the method of assessing eliminated reserves. To assess dynamics in the analyzed indicators, the total and average annual growth and loss rates, expressed as a percentage, were calculated. Results. The study has assessed contribution of mortality from curable diseases to the decrease in life expectancy calculated during the study. The assessed contribution makes it possible to evaluate possible reserves of the Krasnoyarsk Territory healthcare system cat can be mobilized using modern and effective medical interventions, including secondary prevention and treatment, to decrease mortality in the light of the target values of life expectancy established at the federal level. A special focus in the Krasnoyarsk Territory should be placed on mortality from diseases of the circulatory system, neoplasms and diseases of the digestive system associated with curable causes. Conclusion. Improving quality of treatment and secondary prevention of such curable diseases will make it possible to improve life quality and decrease premature deaths resulting in the increased life expectancy in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.","PeriodicalId":279998,"journal":{"name":"Social Aspects of Population Health","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132927675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, a rapid spread of the new coronavirus infection - COVID-19 has created risks for various health disorders in children. The purpose of the study is to analyze peculiar features of the dynamics in disease incidence among child population in the context of the new coronavirus infection - C19. Material and methods. The study used the federal statistical observation form No. 12 “Information on the number of diseases registered in patients residing in the catchment area of a health care facility” to analyze data on disease incidence among child population of the Udmurt Republic aged 0-14 and 0- 17 in the pre-COVID period (from 2017 to 2019) and during the spread of the new coronavirus infection - COVID-19 (from 2020-2021). The retrospective analysis used the following methods of statistical analysis: analytical and the method of descriptive statistics. MS Office Excel 2007 spreadsheets and Statistica10 program were used for data processing. Results. In the period from 2017 to 2019, disease incidence in children aged 0-14 decreased by 11.8%, equaling to 2019.7 per thousand population of the corresponding age in 2019, while in children aged 0-17 it decreased by 11.0%, adding up to 1945.3 per thousand population of the corresponding age in 2019. In the context of the COVID pandemic (2020 and 2021), disease incidence in children aged 0-14 increased by 15.0%, equaling to 1822.4 per thousand population of the corresponding age in 2021, while in children aged 0-17 it increased by 13.7%, adding up to 1745.6 per thousand child population in 2021. In both groups of children, mental disorders have significantly increased. Conclusions. In the context of the pandemic, dynamics in disease incidence in children has increased across most classes of diseases. Peculiar features of the incidence rates include inverse proportional trends in the pre-COVID dynamics and during the pandemic, as well as a significant rise in mental disorders.","PeriodicalId":279998,"journal":{"name":"Social Aspects of Population Health","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133009468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Medical procedures of gender transition are aimed at modifying primary and secondary sex characteristics. Effectiveness of medical procedures of gender transition in reduction of gender dysphoria, improvement of health-related quality of life and psycho-social outcomes attracts attention of a growing number of researchers. However, many authors emphasize poor quality of data explained by the complex nature of gender transition that involves medical, social and legal dimensions. Taking account of non-medical (social) factors when conducting epidemiological studies is necessary to obtain more reliable data on effectiveness of medical procedures of gender transition, which is important, among other reasons, for the development of clinical practice guidelines on gender dysphoria rooted in evidence-based medicine. Purpose. Identify social factors affecting the quality of studies on effectiveness of medical procedures of gender transition and give recommendations for the design of future epidemiological studies. Material and methods. A systematic search of systematic reviews on effectiveness of medical procedures of gender transition was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus. The discovered reviews and underlying studies were analyzed in order to identify limitations in their design, especially related to the influence of social factors. In addition, an analysis of publications in journals Transgender Studies Quarterly, International Journal of Transgender Health and Transgender Health was conducted to identify social factors that affect the effectiveness of medical procedures of gender transition. Results. Among the main limitations affecting the quality of epidemiological studies on effectiveness of medical procedures of gender transition are: (a) difficulties of establishing the number of trans people; (b) no consensus on drawing a sample; (c) individual medical needs of trans people; (d) non-linearity and non-chrononormativity of gender transition; (e) poor understanding of social pathways affecting psycho-social outcomes for trans people.","PeriodicalId":279998,"journal":{"name":"Social Aspects of Population Health","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133178563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Health of child population is one of the most important priorities of the state policy. Each region of Russia has its own characteristics of living conditions that affect the health of children, therefore, the assessment of regional characteristics of living and upbringing conditions of children in terms of their impact on health is a relevant objective. Purpose. To assess the impact of individual factors of living conditions of families in the Chechen Republic on the health of children under the age of 7 years. Material and Methods. During the preventive medical examination, a survey of parents of 793 children under 7 living in 9 districts of the Chechen Republic has been conducted. As a result, 536 questionnaires completed by 85% and more were analyzed. The health group determined based on the examination results was used as an effective indicator for assessing the impact of family living conditions on health. Results. The peculiar features of living conditions of children under 7 in the Chechen Republic are as follows: a high share of rural dwellers; a high number of large families; short birth spacing; a significant number of non-working mothers; an extremely low number of single-parent families with children. The child health is adversely affected by the following: living in rural areas; living in a family with five children and more; low educational level of parents; lack of funds for the child material support in low-income families. Conclusions. The Chechen Republic has its own peculiar characteristics of living conditions of children, which affect the child health and should be taken into account when developing regional programs aimed at preventing health disorders in children.","PeriodicalId":279998,"journal":{"name":"Social Aspects of Population Health","volume":"285 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122973200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, among the main fields of social interaction, a large number of interpersonal conflicts does relate to professional activity. Subject of research: conflicts and conflict situations in dental practice. Purpose of work: to identify main groups of causes of conflict situations and conflicts in dental practice and suggest ways to prevent and resolve them. Material and methods: questionnaire survey of dentists with additional interview of the respondents, mathematical and statistical data analysis using the SPSS Statistics software (Pearson chi-square tests, Kruskal-Wallis tests). Results: The majority of the respondents (59.0%) say that they have never had any conflicts with the administration. The leading cause of disagreement is dissatisfaction with the material base and supplies (35%). The prevailing share of the dentists (61.5%) indicate that conflicts between them and a colleague / nurse have never occurred. The main cause of the conflict communication is insubordination or lack of subordination, especially in rural areas and public facilities. Doctors of public healthcare facilities and dentists working in rural areas were more often in conflict with a colleague or manager. Almost all health workers (98%) note that they have encountered conflict patients. The main cause of the conflict communication is long waiting for a dental appointment (33.3%). Out of all factors influencing the relationship, about half of the respondents (53.0%) mentioned the emotional state of the patient. Out of all behavior strategies in conflicts, the majority of dentists (44%) prefer cooperation. Conclusion: Almost all (98%) dentists came into conflict with the patient. The main causes of these conflicts included: long waiting times for admission (33.3%), irrational work of the registry, the administrator (23.1%) and complaints about the quality of services (22.2%). Medical workers with average work experience (10-29 years) were more likely to conflict with the patient about claims to the quality of treatment (31.3%).","PeriodicalId":279998,"journal":{"name":"Social Aspects of Population Health","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117204003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Timely identification of defects in the treatment and diagnostic process during internal quality audit of care delivery stimulates evidence-based organizational and management decisions and improves quality of care delivery to mental patients. Material and methods. A retrospective analysis of 270 records of internal quality audit of care to mental patients treated at the Mental Hospital # 4 of the Moscow Healthcare Department has been conducted. A total of 156 inpatient records (57.8%) from 2015 to 2018 were compared with 114 inpatient records (42.2%) in 2019. Results and discussion. Heads of the structural units and deputy heads of the health care facility have evaluated quality of care delivery at the two levels of control. Primary medical documentation was assessed on 12 items (from 0 to 1 point). The arithmetic mean of the assessments for each of the items was calculated - the overall quality factor. At both levels of control, defects in the care delivery were described. The quality factor at the 1st level of control equalled to 0.95 (0.92; 0.96), and 0.86 (0.79; 0.91) at the 2nd level. The quality factor at the 2nd level of control in 2015 - 2018 (1.0 (0.90; 1.00)) was statistically significantly higher than in 2019 (0.86 (0.79; 0.91)) (p = 0.011). Data for the complete 2019, despite the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as of June 7, 2019 No. 381n, were observed and obtained in accordance with the requirements of the Moscow Healthcare Department Order No. 932 as of October 30, 2019 “On procedure for implementing internal quality audit and safety performance of health organizations of the state healthcare system of the city of Moscow”. Conclusion. The ongoing monitoring of quality of inpatient health care delivery to mental patients to identify defects in the treatment and diagnostic process using internal quality audit records helps to improve quality of care delivery to patients.","PeriodicalId":279998,"journal":{"name":"Social Aspects of Population Health","volume":"2015 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114487765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
