This can be achieving through importing capital from abroad and localized force saving to support the level of industrialization in the real sectors of the economy. The central focus of this research is to examine economic planning and real sector in Nigeria by looking at the causes, consequences, and the way forward. The paper used library science method and collected data purely from secondary materials. The paper found that amongst the challenges of the real sectors development is poor government policies and monoculture nature of the Nigerian economy. These consequently resulted into not achieving macroeconomic objectives such as increase in output growth in all the sectors as expected. The study therefore suggested articulated development plan, improved governance, and service delivery. Governments should create an enabling environment through her planning for private driven economy to thrive through realistic power and energy programmes and reforms, functional institutions. This will encourage local industries and foreign direct investments into the real sector of the economy thereby increasing the levels of economic development in the economy.","PeriodicalId":277653,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117079520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Competitive pressures manifest in many forms from rivalry, regulations, standards and subscriber choice, for example, demand that the modern organization constantly assess its position, resources, management, leadership and competencies among other things. As a result, organizations experience continuous change in the way they are managed and the way they operate (Parvin&Kabir, 2011). Abstract: Volunteer leaders’ competence is emerging as one of the changes that both profit and non-profit organizations have to accommodate especially as more people look for opportunities to serve, learn, gain new organization experiences and derive personal fulfillment. The success or failure of any profit or non-profit organization largely depends on the efficiency of its human capital. Most non-profit organizations including churches depend on volunteer workers to take the position of leadership and management because of their limited resources. In this regard, this research aimed at assessing the influence of volunteer leader’s competence on church performance. The study sought to determine the influence of volunteer leaders’ commitment, emotional intelligence, personal attributes and leadership styles on church performance. The general objective of this study was to access the influence of volunteer leaders’ competence on church performance: evidence from the Presbyterian Church of East Africa Nakuru East Presbytery, Kenya and was anchored on the Social Exchange Theory of Volunteerism and the Contingency Theory of Leadership that try to show how church performance relates to volunteer leaders’ competence. This study adopted a descriptive survey research design and the design was deemed appropriate to the study because the research was seeking to establish a cause-effect relationship between volunteer leaders’ competence and church performance. The target population of the study was 750 church leaders composed of 288 Church Elders and 462 Group Leaders. Nassiuma formula was used to obtain a sample size of 88 respondents after which Neyman allocation formula was used to proportionally allocate the sample size across the categories of the respondents giving a sample size of 33 elders and 55 group leaders. Volunteer leaders in all the eleven parishes were randomly selected. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire which was pretested to ensure content validity and also reliability at the recommended Cronbach alpha of 0.7. Collected data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Multiple linear regression was used to determine the relative effectives of the volunteer leaders’ competence on church performance. Findings were presented in graphs and tables. The study revealed significant influence of volunteer leaders’ commitment(t=4.356,","PeriodicalId":277653,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124774252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It explores the effect of executives’ legal backgrounds on corporate frauds and changes in relations between executives with legal backgrounds and corporate fraud under different natures of ownership, as well as analyzes the specific effect mechanism of executives with legal backgrounds. The results show: (1) Executives with a legal background are able to play a role in inhibiting frauds of listed companies, and the more executives with legal backgrounds, the fewer frauds of listed companies; (2) The companies’ nature of ownership plays a moderating role in the effect of executives with legal backgrounds on frauds of listed companies. The inhibition effect of executives with legal backgrounds on corporate frauds is more obvious in state-owned enterprises; (3) The reason why companies for which executives with legal backgrounds work have fewer frauds is that the executives choose low-risk companies prior to the service, which is a function of signal transmission. The conclusions provide suggestions for listed companies in terms of optimizing talent structure, strengthening internal governance, and appointing executives for shareholders, as well as the basis for regulatory authorities to conduct key supervision.","PeriodicalId":277653,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124875582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abstract: The state of the health sector in a country determines the development of the welfare and quality of life of its citizens. The Kenyan health sector faces challenges in its work that lead to inefficient service delivery. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effect of market culture on the performance of a Level 5 hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. The study is anchored on the Schein's theory of organizational culture and stakeholder theory. Both descriptive and explanatory research projects were used. The study targeted 20 level five hospitals in Nairobi County. All the hospitals were included in the study and therefore it was a census. The unit of observation included10 department heads from each hospital. A total of 200 respondents were expected to participate in the study. Structured questionnaire was used to obtain primary data. Pilot data was used to measure the questionnaire’s reliability. Frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviation were used in descriptive statistical analysis. Inferential statistics were used to determine how variables were related. It consisted of correlation and regression analysis to assess the relationship between the independent and dependent variable. The findings of the correlation analysis found out that market culture had a positive and significant relationship with firm performance (r=0.604, p=0.000). Further, regression output indicated that market culture had a positive and significant effect on firm performance (β=0.492, p=0.000). Therefore, the study concluded that market culture has a substantial contribution to the performance of level 5 hospitals. The management of level five hospitals should ensure policies are streamlined to strengthen the aspects of market culture within the organization. The management should particularly promote productivity, effectiveness, and result in optimization.","PeriodicalId":277653,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126035796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is in line if drug or pharmaceutical support devices can become an important element of the main service in the hospital. Based on this, it is an important and inseparable part of hospital services, because it is a form of orientation to patient care, the provision of quality drugs, as well as a clinical pharmacy service that is easily accessible to the public. The use of medicine for hospitals is an important element, because the role of the hospital is to provide good service, cure and prevent disease for the community. So that medicine is a support for the healing and prevention of a disease by patients who are undergoing treatment. If there is an empty stock of drugs when needed, it can cause losses for many parties. One of them is in the patient element, where the patient cannot get treatment on time. This will later affect the patient's worsening which can result in the loss of a patient's life. In addition, it can also cause a decrease in the credibility of hospital services for patients or the general public. Another thing, if it is viewed from the elements of the hospital, if the hospital does not have a drug stock or drug supply it will have an impact on profit loss. Loss of profit can occur if the patient or the public will turn to services at other hospitals that are quite alert and able to provide good and complete services. Therefore, the empty stock of drugs can be or if the availability of drugs is less on time, there will be a decrease in the value of the volume of patient visits which affects the minimum hospital cash receipts and the lack of hospital performance. This can happen in all hospitals, including the regional hospital in Sumenep Regency, namely Dr. H. Moh. Anwar Hospital.","PeriodicalId":277653,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123267483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
