The analysis and comparison of control methods of testing were used. It was found that even the simplest paper-based tests allow effective comparative assessment of knowledge and provide a much deeper differentiation of knowledge assessment than the five-point grading system.The cheapness and efficiency of the test used at Krasnodar Air Force Institute for Pilots are achieved by dividing it into three parts: a questionnaire, a response sheet, and a test stencil. The questionnaire is a reusable document, and the response sheet is small in size.The use of basic Microsoft Office programs in the test showed that the mastery of these programs among students is increasing year by year. It turned out that the mastery of these programs depends little on the main process of learning.When checking the knowledge in the field of computer science, the primary testing is basic. But in general, the control of residual knowledge with the help of testing can objectively establish the effectiveness of teaching any subject.The article conducted a mathematical analysis of the test results and plotted probability density plots, which were approximated by a smooth mathematical function. This clear view of the distribution of the indicator leads to an understanding of how well the knowledge is learned by students.","PeriodicalId":277237,"journal":{"name":"Informatics and education","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114996228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, due to the need to intensify the processes of digital transformation of education, it is important to assess the quality of digital educational environments (DEE). The aim of the work is to substantiate the approach and describe the procedure for monitoring of DEE of educational institutions based on the available cloud services, providing convenient collection, accumulation, and processing of statistical and monitoring indicators.The projective criterial model of the system of assessment and monitoring of the quality of DEE, which is based on the results of self-assessment of the educational organization and external expert evaluation, was adopted. The main feature of the model is the participation of organizations and external experts in the process of designing criterion rubrics, conducting and analyzing the results of monitoring. Yandex Forms service is used for self-assessment of DEE and expert evaluation of the educational organization website which allows converting of the collected data into spreadsheets. By combining the data and their statistical processing it is possible to obtain indicators for different slices and ratings, to conduct a summary clustering of the DEE of the studied organizations by three levels: low, average, and high.The proposed model was implemented in the assessment of DEE practices of supplementary education for children. To determine the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the DLE and the official sites of additional education organizations we created questionnaires in Yandex Forms filled in by the representatives of the studied organizations. Pilot testing showed that the collection, processing, and delivery of monitoring data to users was technologically simple and easy.The projective criterial model for assessing the quality of the DEE of supplementary education organizations can be used for many other studies related to criterion-based assessment activities.","PeriodicalId":277237,"journal":{"name":"Informatics and education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129910844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of modern web technologies makes it possible to bypass compatibility problems on users’ computers and perform laboratory classes remotely online.The purpose of this research is to develop computer virtual 3D-laboratory class and web-access simulators for disciplines taught at the Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology (SibGU).The analysis of the current state in the field of virtual laboratory development carried out by the authors allowed us to conclude that it is impossible to use ready-made solutions. The choice of tools for the development of their own software products was made, the disciplines for the implementation of 3D-laboratory classes were selected, technical specifications were developed, methods of user interaction with objects and objects interaction with each other were developed, 3D-models needed for the visualization of laboratory work were created.The final result of the research is software products — virtual 3D-laboratory workshops for students of technical specialties, implemented with a similar set of software solutions, hosted on the SibGU server. The software products were tested by students in real classes and then the created applications were implemented in the electronic training modules of the university.The developed computer implementations of laboratory workshops are not only successfully used in the educational process of SibGU, but also allow to solve the problem of conducting laboratory classes in the forced distance form of education, as well as help to compensate for the lack of necessary equipment.Application of virtual laboratory classes helps to engage students in learning and improve their digital literacy.","PeriodicalId":277237,"journal":{"name":"Informatics and education","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134405719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today they must comply with the needs of the national educational system, taking into account external sanctions. Relevant for the education system is the creation of an integrated service that would not only eliminate the problem of “patchwork” automation, but also provide the most friendly format for interaction between the staff of an educational organization, students and customers of the educational service at all stages — from the moment of forming interest in training to maintaining communication with the graduate.That is why the aim of the work was to formalize a number of requirements due to the peculiarities of the process of providing educational services. According to the results of expert evaluation (194 experts were involved for the analysis), the author conducted clustering of evaluation results, and then identified and grouped the wishes of administrators and teachers to create the mentioned integrated service. The most significant result should be considered the revealed inconsistency of interests of the main actors of educational organization business-processes, since 80 % of experts’ assessments fell into clusters with opposite wishes. This can be used in the automation projects of educational organizations. It was noted that in the educational sphere it is important to have not only effective business processes, but also the involvement of all employees in achieving positive educational results for students.","PeriodicalId":277237,"journal":{"name":"Informatics and education","volume":"245 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121878326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the global scope research on the topic for higher education is rather extensive, there are cases of successful implementation of education support services in universities. The literature analysis shows of the growing interest in this problem in the Russian scientific and pedagogical community. At the same time, the specifics of Russian education does not allow direct transfer of foreign experience into the domestic educational system.The study reveals that a significant contribution to predicting student retention can be made by models for predicting academic performance in educational courses of the curriculum. The authors propose a structural model of a system for predicting academic performance, which includes a universal model based on generalized indicators of the digital footprint, a course-based model that takes into account the specifics of learning in a particular discipline, and a model based on the student’s educational profile.In the empirical study we trained 5 models for early prediction of interim assessment grades based on the universal indicators of the LMS Moodle student digital footprint. The most accurate model, especially in the first half of the semester, turned out to be ensemble-averaging models of logistic regression, random forest and gradient boosting. It was found that universal models are effective for detection of at-risk students in the discipline, the directions for further improvement of the universal model of performance prediction were determined and conditions for scaling the proposed approach to create a prognostic system for student retention to other educational institutions were formulated.","PeriodicalId":277237,"journal":{"name":"Informatics and education","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124853223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
