The models using these learning algorithms help in determining the sentiments across the textual documents. There is a need to evaluate the effectiveness of the models in terms of analyzing and predicting sentiments. This paper provides a statistical approach to measure the effectiveness of the models and also evaluates their effectiveness with respect to the data representations. Here an experimental research is carried out with an inductive mode to measure and evaluate the models. The models are built using Decision Tree, Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machines. Data has been represented using features of Term Frequency and Inverse Document Frequency and Bag-of-words. Statistical tools used for measuring the models are Chi-square test and Analysis of Variance.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116176766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

GDHT and its offshoots are finite dimensional discrete transforms that have wide ranging and ramifying applications in Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematical Applications such as Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, and Communications Engineering. The similarity properties can be used for computing the time domain signal from its frequency domain expression or contra if and only if an existing GDHT (and its offshoots) pair exists. In such instances, the merits of the properties lie in the belt-tightening of computational intricacy and outlay essentially.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122556945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MapReduce workloads are mostly interactive workloads or batch processing workloads that consume an enormous amount of energy when hosted on multiple clusters. Currently, the scheduling of workloads is done with the sole goal of the faster execution time of jobs. However, in doing so, there is wastage of energy as the same jobs could be completed within the stipulated Service Level Agreement (SLA) using fewer resources when hosted on small clusters. Therefore, in order to minimize the energy consumption of MapReduce clusters, workloads could be deployed on a minimum number of clusters depending on the type and size with the goal of minimizing energy consumption and not faster response time. In this work, the three schedulers i.e FIFO, Fair and Capacity schedulers are compared with respect to energy efficiency on small-scale and large-scale workloads. Experiments performed on a small cluster using these workloads show significant energy savings with respect to Capacity scheduler compared to other schedulers.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124360203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The static allocation of the spectrum has led to an underutilization of the spectrum. Cognitive radio is the promising technology for the dynamic allocation of the spectrum which improves the spectrum utilization. In cognitive radio, an unlicensed (secondary) user can opportunistically access the spectrum when the licensed (primary) user is not transmitting, without causing any harmful interference to the primary user's signal. Spectrum sensing is the key element of cognitive radio, which provides the crucial information regarding the status of the spectrum. The spectrum sensing algorithms aims at detecting whether the primary user is transmitting over the spectrum or the spectrum is empty. Based on the results of the spectrum sensing the secondary user can opportunistically access the spectrum when the spectrum in empty. In this paper, a brief survey of narrow band and wide band spectrum sensing techniques have been discussed.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124379918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our fishermen, knowingly or unknowingly, cross the border and lands up in other country's marine water. They risk their lives for their daily wages. Sometimes it can be fatal. Also, in case of emergency, there is no one to help them. Our radio frequency (RF) communication based system (RFCS) will help them from not crossing country border. The device (Slave) on fishermen boats will periodically broadcasts its GPS signals integrated in data packets. This will be received by Patrolling boats or at the coast by a receiver(Master). Thus, the master has information about the location of each boat in real-time. If the slave is about to cross the border, the master will inform the boat about the crossing so that the slave should remain safe inside water boundaries. Tracking of a particular slave can also be done and an immediate help from the coast can be provided when a distress message is being transmitted from slave boats. It uses sub-GHz transceiver with additional power amplifier and RF switch integrated with each other to provide long distance communication range. This will greatly reduce the mortality rate as compared to the current scenario.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127678307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Typically, the image examination involves in the extracting the region of interest or features for the further investigation. In human detection system and also in criminal science, identification of the correct person is essential for the authentication requirements. In these applications, usually, the sketch drawn by an expert or a computer is matched against the digital photographs available in the criminal or the public database. During this examination, essential facial features are extracted from the sketch and digital photography is compared to identify the percentage of fit. The proposed work in this paper aims to examine the existing image enhancement and identification procedures existing in the literature. After creating the essential sketch for a person, a comparative analysis against the digital photo (Gray / RGB scale) of the person is performed, and the image similarity measures, such as PSNR, MSE, and SSIM are computed. In this paper, the benchmark datasets, like CUHK and PRIP-HDC are considered for the examination, and the empirical trial is achieved with the help of Matlab software.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124742625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The drying is achieved by allowing the heat from heat chamber to flow on to the conveyor belt with the help of exhaust fans present in the heat chamber. The grains are layered evenly on the conveyer belts upon which the heated air is passed to extract the moisture from the grains. Arduino Uno (ATmega328P) along with the appropriate sensors are used to monitor and control the moisture content, speed of the motor and temperature of the heating chamber. Based on the moisture content present in the grains, the sensor sends the control signal to the controller. Thus, the speed of the conveyer belt is adjusted accordingly to maintain required moisture content in the grains, which is ideally required for storage. The prototype of the system is developed and powered using solar photovoltaic energy generated from 10W solar panel in conjunction with buck-boost converter and charge controller. The results shows a good response in removing the initial moisture content from 30% to 14% from the grains without altering their nutrition values.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131651146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an experimental evaluation of a reliable, low power indoor bed tracking and drug identification system for hospital ward environment. Correct bed identification and equivalent medicines are recognized using received signal strength indication (RSSI) of the Zigbee network and mobile robot. A commercially available Firebird V- ATMEGA 2560 robot, communicates with medicine dispensing station through a ZigBee network of open IEEE 802.15.4. Radio map of RSSI and database of corresponding bed coordinates and also matching drug for that bed coordinates is developed offline. The moving robot matches up to the stored radio map with real-time RSSI, identifies bed coordinates and categorizes equivalent medicine. Without any calibration efforts, the moving robot has achieved a success rate of 92 % in detecting and identifying medicines to 4 testbeds placed in an open room environment, after 50 trials. The proposed technique does not need any additional special hard wares in contrast to hospital robotic delivery using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"66 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120924976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
