A bulk-driven transconductor and a feed-forward compensated operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) are used as building blocks of the filter. Operating with a supply voltage of 0.5 V, filter exhibits a low pass Butterworth response with a cutoff frequency of 1 MHz. A mathematical model of the filter is developed using descriptor state-space equations for optimizing the filter response. The designed filter consumes a power as less as 91.99 μW with a figure of merit (FoM) of 3.39 fJ/pole.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132446210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We first investigate the spectrum sensing performance of a MIMO-CR network by employing the blindly combined energy detection (BCED) scheme. We derive expressions for the average achievable throughput in MIMO-NOMA CR networks with imperfect spectrum sensing using the BCED technique. Through Monte Carlo simulations and numerical techniques, we show the the spectral efficiency achieved due to MIMO-NOMA in CR networks is better as compared to the MIMO-based orthogonal multiple access (MIMO-OMA) CR networks.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130697906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Geometric calculation for determining joint angles and velocity involves complex trigonometric calculations and derivations which are not simple enough to actuate in a control software. Many times, geometric calculation also tend to become unsolvable due to complex work envelopes. Though iterative algorithms provide generalized solution to every serial link manipulator possible, it is computationally very expensive. If the number of nodes is large, this further aggravates the situation. The paper focuses on the methodology to combine iterative and geometrical methods to find inverse kinematics solutions to a 4 Degree of Freedom (DOF) robotic arm. Thus, the paper aims at establishing a bargain between geometric method complexities and iterative method computational load. Iterative method is employed for certain links and geometry is applied for rest of the links to achieve the desired end location with minimum error possible while adhering to the constraints of the work envelope.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130823339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel approach to the above problem has been explored, wherein Long Short-Term Memory networks have been employed to fulfil the power quality event classification task. Given the sheer size of the input dataset, feature extraction was carried out by deriving important statistical features from the data. The Long Short-Term Memory model used was then trained and tested on these extracted features. Following this, the model performance has been evaluated, wherein the model was shown to perform remarkably well.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130510721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike the conventional exploration and mapping techniques where the occupancy map of a spatially discretized environment is obtained, in the proposed Geometric Mapping (G-Mapping) strategy, the map is obtained in the form of geometric models of the obstacles, in a continuous space. For simplicity, we consider convex polygonal obstacles within a convex region. The proposed exploration strategy is implemented using MATLAB. The simulation results are presented to illustrate and demonstrate the G-Mapping strategy.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134442858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Usually, we observe bright spots in images caught during sunrise or sunset. The color of the bright spot varies depending on the overall background of the scene and mainly relies upon the light reflected from the lens. In several instances, bright spot, haze, or flare can arise anywhere in the image. The phenomenon occurs due to the light reflected or scattered by the imperfection of the lens and improper angle of incidence of light. One can avoid by taking the picture at a proper angle such that the spot is positioned directly on the source of light which necessitates expertise. Manual intervention is exacted for images bearing a bright spot; however, it demands the understanding of extra software tools. Moreover, manual editing becomes a time-consuming process for an extensive quantity of images. In the proposed work, we address this issue by determining the bright spot automatically and its removal by filling the gap. We experiment using available feature detection approaches for spot detection and well known in-painting methods to fill the spot area. As a promising method, we select speeded up robust features to identify the bright spot, and exemplar-based in-painting method to fill the gap in that location. We test the proposed method on more than 30 images captured against the flashing source of light. Experimental results on bright spot images reveal that the proposed method is efficient and corrected images appear natural without any artifacts.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125365726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our proposed method defines an efficient algorithm for conversion of Kannada text to Braille and Braille script to Kannada. We have taken the input from Kannada online website “Kendasampige” and from the online Kannada newspaper “Udayavani”, It gives no mapping errors and works for all Kannada compound characters. The Braille output that is generated is given as input to the embosser to produce the hardcopy on a Braille paper which can be read by the visually impaired. Braille text is not available in the internet and hence converting text from Kannada to Braille helps a lot for visually impaired people.","PeriodicalId":274260,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116779375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
